I found that you can hold the turn signal down or up on the highway to force a lane change. But don’t hold it too long, or it will change another lane. 😢

I kind of let FSD make that decision and it apparently it didn’t want to change to faster lane even though there was about 6 more miles on the highway to go.
You don't have FSD v12 on the highway - it defaults to the older 11.4.9. You can tell this is the case when the speed goes from AUTO to some number + your set offset. This is similar to how it was with FSD 10 where it was autopilot on highways and FSD everywhere else.

Tesla could have stayed in that lane and exit the highway, there was no necessity to change the lane. You panic too much. It is not safe for your health! Maybe better drive yourself or you get heart attack. Well, at least FSD would stop the car safely in such case...

Thank you for your very informative videos. The main problem with FSD is that it can’t be trusted, and so you need to be extremely vigilant and ready to intervene in a split second. Instead of a pleasant driving experience, it adds a layer of high anxiety. My girlfriend will no longer use it after the algorithm engaged emergency braking today as she was about to enter an intersection as the light turned yellow. She (and the car behind her) would have comfortably proceeded through the intersection. Instead, she almost got rear ended. FSD is a cool feature to show off to your friends, but why anyone would pay $12,000 to get the crap scared out of them is beyond me. And anyone who thinks these issues will all be resolved in the next year or so is delusional.

I got anxiety every time I try FSD on the route.

Dude FSD is FSD, it doesn’t change to auto pilot
It changes lanes when it needs to, your wife was wrong most likely

Honestly, while system not perfect, it’s very good
Unless you expect your kids to be dropping everything to drive you around when you get old , it’s best to learn and accept these systems because it will make things a lot easier!
Just learn to trust it more .
Also no it doesnt change to auto pilot on its own for freeway, and it won’t change lanes for no reason , in fact it does tend to change lanes late
The yellow light is the worst I agree. It’s got me a couple times. I ride the gas thru them now that I know it’s coming

Yes, I’ve had the same experience with 12.3.3 stopping immediately on amber, and the car was partly in the intersection. I just left it there, and waited for the green. There was plenty of time to get through the amber and I wondered at the time if it was because I had the FSD on “chill”. Apparently, that wasn’t the reason.😂
Yes, I wondered the same but this time I put it in assertive and still got the same result.

Same with my EAP, it won't take the exit lane till the last moment or even miss it on my commute. It's been like that for years for certain exists. This depends on the exists I noticed.

I'm having the same issue. it waits until the very last second to exit off a major highway... and man , it loves coming close very close to Curves
Yes, that right turn FSD always turn quickly and close to the curb.
That last second exit was not a good experience. I hope it doesn’t do that every time it exit the highway.

Oh no, I’m not a nervous driver at all.
It’s just that This was my first time try FSD on highway and I was trying my best to let FSD make the decision.
That last second exit was closer than you think.

You and your wife need to trust the car.
As you can see I trusted the FSD and it just stopped at the cross walk on green to yellow again. I didn’t do anything I just let FSD do what it wanted but I had to back the car up because I can’t just park there at the stop light.

All i can say about FSD is that it drives the car like a 90 year old great grandmother. In So Cal that's a recipe for road rage.

Great grandmothers are involved in far less accidents than the average people who are sometimes driving drunk and/or tired and/or watching their phone and/or thinking rules are for others and/or etc. Regarding road rage, some people are stupid and FSD will change nothing, at least until all cars use FSD. Then road rage will end, for ever. Nobody will care the car to go a bit slow due to extra cautiousness when everybody in the car is reading a book or watching a movie or having a video conference or just taking a nap on a long trip.

Yep, I never thought Tesla has the best Nav or map system. I think the worst part is the size of navigation when it shows to change or exit the highway.

1) adjust your camera angle so we can see pedals and wheel entirely.
2) drive with settings for as SAFE as possible.
3) just let it do its thing stop touching it so much.
We’re all interested in FULL self driving.

The Moment you hit the highway it switches to FSD 11. The giveaway is that the selected speed changes from "auto" to a nominated speed.
