      Yes, the only problem is the phonograph is all original and the spring has lost some of its power. You would have to remove the record to keep rewinding it. So, maybe now over 100 years later I should say it can’t play a 10” record!

      The spring motor can be rebuilt. New spring, new grease, timed. The gaskets in the reproducer can be replaced too, along with the tuning springs adjusted to remove the rattling sound.

      It’s to easy and very destructive when a spring or other part breaks. IMO as long as it’s original, I’d rather wind it a few times then risk damage. When a spring let’s go on a phonograph with a spring barrel, then it’s contained. When a spring let’s go on an open spring design, then your at a high risk of damaging unobtainable parts of the motor/phonograph, not to mention serious physical injury to anyone close.
