Beware of falling into the model kit hole for me was gunpla and I spend way more money on gunpla than figures in the 2 years I’ve got into but don’t regret it

I can definitely see that. I've seen some other people's channels where their gunpla collection dwarfs my figure collection like 10 to 1. There is definitely a large community for it.

Got a mecha model key and I kinda gave up once I did the arms and legs and the weapon but maybe I’ll try to finish it

There are some "anime figure" like kits coming that are not as complex as the mecha girl kits. Those may seem more enjoyable to build, since less parts, pieces seem to be pre-painted instead of flat plastic color. And while this kit was fun to build, but after ripping off most of the decals, and pieces falling off every time I changed the pose, I didn't feel like that rewarding in the end. But still a fun experience.
