Hopefully her growing up years, or her dance coach can help her with her transistions. This little lady is going to be a threat on ice.

Gao actually reminds me more of a young Karen Chen, from her big double Axel and quick spins to her confident projection. I thought her program and choreography were pleasant and age appropriate. If she can work through those cheated jumps and puberty, she has some very nice qualities that should serve her well.
DEAR Chinese Coaches: Please teach your students to learn how to use a Toe Pick to Catapult into the air when doing jumps NOT the entire blade...Please learn from World Champion and Olympic Medalist Chen Lu...Who KNEW how to use a Toe Pick.

The song’s vibe and her energy doesn’t match. Great routine and set of skills but if you look at it in the overall artistry aspect she lacks connection with the music. Like I don’t get the story she’s telling. I guess it’s cause she’s really still just a kid and is just excited to perform but I feel disconnected to her performance. Guess, not everyone can give off the same expressiveness like Yuzuru Hanyu. (DONT go after me for mentioning Yuzuru. I don’t mean anything bad about it I mentioned YH cause she used a song from the same composer of one of the songs Yuzuru used so I used him as a comparison. That’s all)
The girl really skates well, but is it a phenomenon? No. Talent? No. This is work and attempts to jump beautifully and musically roll back the program. Why am I saying this? Everything is learned in comparison, and if someone opens a video from the Russian Figure Skating Championship, then between watching such a video, they are more likely to prefer to see art on ice in the form of Russian figure skaters with pure complex and musical jumps.

She is an exceptional skater, but the music is poorly chosen and the choreography is boring (I know those things are up to her coaches and not her).
I'm no skating expert, but I thought the music was awful too😮. It was like the wrong music was playing over the video😢. What an amazing skater this girl is, but whoever chose that music needs a better ear for sure 😢.

if you don’t like it, then don’t watch it! arms over the head isn’t always meant for attractiveness, it helps some skaters with the air position.
