I think the induction kit is almost a must on these. The noise they make once changed is so addictive and it’s so easy to revert back if you want to go back to standard. Awesome video as always Olly 👍
I was about to comment the same. Bought my DC5 stock 2 years ago and the Tegiwa intake transformed the car for me and it made it so much more enjoyable. That crossover and induction noise is immense. Downshifts sound awesome with it. Easily reversible back to stock too.
I've always said these are well sorted cars out the box. They really are so well engineered with wear and tear components seeming to last a long time. Wouldn't mind another EP3 tbf! Drove my mate's standard Prem and it was so weird not hearing the crossover into VTEC 😅 I do like a little noise with my cars so I'd fit an aftermarket exhaust that looked like the original with twin tailpipes and either modify the standard airbox (Hondata mod) or fit something like a Mugen airbox to keep it OEM plus. I'd probably do something with the engine mounts too, not because I want to upgrade, rather for the reason that the standard ones don't seem to last too long with hard driving 😅
As for throttle response might be worth having a look at the cable & seeing if it needs adjusting. I always check when ive looked over an ep for someone & adjust it
Ive heard good things about the frsu. Sadly i cannot recommend it. Not only did i not notice any difference, it seems to have made the car worse to drive on roads with any amount of camber. For reference, before the frsu i changed to lowering springs, new shock absorber all round, top mounts, rack slider, camber arms & bolts but its just made no difference at all. Rather worse instead as the steering wanders more.
I've got a completely stock (except for CarPlay unit) '02 JDM EP3 with 100k kilometres on the clock. I have been considering doing some very non-intrusive mods to it (mainly induction kit) but I haven't got the heart to do it. There is something really nice about having it stock.
I see what you are saying but even just an induction kit will wake this car up and give you so much driver enjoyment with the sound alone! And, you can put it back to stock if you want to! It is a win win! Haha
My 2006 premier edition is standard apart from gruppe m intake, strange why this car doesn't have tinted rear and side windows?, no intention of modding mine, great drivers car standard.
It depends on whether you are going to lower you car or not. If you lower your car, I think tou need at least front camber bolts and rear camber kit for them to be able to adjust it properly. Of course when tou lower you car you mess up your front geometry, due to the &:$: way Honda designed the steering rack for the EP3
Smashing video mate, always nice to revert to a cool stock motor at least once i think, then jump back in your modded motor and grin all day with no regrets🤣🤣👍
I have a FN2 only a K&N air filter and eibach 15mm lowering springs and the best thing I've done is put a LSD gearbox out of 2011 FN2 Quite happy with the power it did 205 bhp on the dyno test.
They were awesome back in the early 2000's. I was lucky to have mine up to 240bhp on Toda N2 cams (DC5 RSX Type-S) in 2006, before many of the turbo hot hatches came along:)
Nice! They sure are great cars 😁 mines got quite a bit of rust but im really enjoying it. Not sure what the future holds, keep thinking about getting a clean jdm import but theyre getting dearer now
Better keep it stock, it's a classic car at this moment. If need more sound get only intake but keep exhaust stock. That will make car loud on vtec, but silent driving normally, which is best of both worlds. Intake on these engines sound amazing, exhaust not so much imo.
@@OllyRoss nah dude yours is the best around, hands down I think, you've done an incredible job, you should've had him to drive yours and filmed his expression of panic 🤣 keep the vids coming dude 👍🏻

Yeah, absolutely! A game changer for sure! Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it

Apart from a cat back mine completely standard. Such great cars either way
Can’t deny that at all!
Drivers quarter been painted quarter to drivers door slightly off and a post to wing maybe why window tinits off had window out?
Potentially. I am not sure how the factory privacy glass was tinted. Unless one got smashed and it was cheaper to replace with clear?

Sounds like you need to get behind the wheel of another one in the near future! 👀👀👀

Not a bad shout at all
Come drive my 243 bhp fn2 and do a video would love to see what you think to the ep3
Today is also the epic lads birthday.
Also I hope this channel reaches 10k soon
Fast road set up is the number 1 mod in my eyes.

I’ve got the ep3 premier edition. Completely standard. 55 plate. 27k miles. Thats 27 thousand miles only. What you think that would be worth today?
My 2006 premier edition is standard apart from gruppe m intake, strange why this car doesn't have tinted rear and side windows?, no intention of modding mine, great drivers car standard.
That is the perfect upgrade for the intake noise though!
Yeah, weird isn’t it!
I also got a complete stock one 2 weeks ago, gonna keep mine stock.
Makes sense from an investment point of view
You and your mate together are a right laugh. Keep up the good work 🎉
Haha! Thanks man! More to come so stay tuned! 👀👀👀
Great video Olly. Learned a couple of things.😊
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can you do a fast road setup on standard suspension Chambers arms etc

Yes but you need front camber bolts and rear camber arms

Thanks man. There are no losers here! Definitely happy with my choice of mods

Nice man! Yeah, an LSD is a huge upgrade for these cars!
Needs a mugen airbox
Jdm exhaust manifold
😊
Changes the car and keeps it oem+
Yeah, that would be a cool way to go about it

Still awesome now!
A load of fun for sure! Sounds like a sweet set up!
I'd rather still have this over a turbo hothatxh or even a moden hothatch.. it looks much better still then the new cars
i miss my 02 plate ep3 with a gruppe M intake
Time to get another one then! Haha
Its called Clean 👌👌
I can't disagree with that
Nice! They sure are great cars 😁 mines got quite a bit of rust but im really enjoying it. Not sure what the future holds, keep thinking about getting a clean jdm import but theyre getting dearer now
They are only going to go up too! Especially once America can import them from 2026 onwards
Very Noice 👍
Also did you know I have the same birthday as you.
Aaayyy!! The best day of the year!

At the very least I'd say keep the original bits then the option is always there :)
That is fair. For me, it’s too quiet but I get why you would want to leave it
I have mine since 02/2002 always standard. It's enought if you got the eggs to drive it on limit.
Spent the whole time mugging the standard car…. I would’ve said mate get out 😂
How did his car have no key fob 😅
It is worth it 👌 🇯🇲
No head to head 👀
Not yet… got a cool plan if I can find the space
What power is yours running Olly?
Mine is running 254bhp
@@OllyRoss if I can get mine moving like yours. I will be happy.
Bone stock at the mo.
@@Mike-Ep3 Well, with all my videos, you can recreate it all if you want the same thing as me.
@Olly Ross will give it ago.
First thing, toda manifold with 3" exhaust. 2 silences.
このチャンネルを見て、EP3がカッコイイと思ったので買うことにしました!
That is amazing! Thank you and I hope it lives up to your expectations
ぼくも奈良でep3乗ってます
It’s a Honda so either or is still good hahaha 😝
Haha! Yeah, that is very true
