What I would have wanted if i bought this car as of today- - Bi-xenon projector lamps - rear disc brakes - Auto start stop (Keyless entry) - Sportier front seats - more safety electronics like 'tcs' etc -Better steering wheel (like of poli gti)
Another fantastic review. Recently, while I was driving a Vento TDI, it felt so better (mostly the suspension) than the Fluidic Verna my Dad owns. I'm just praying if my Dad could let me buy this one.
u r just amazing...... i think POWER DRIFT is the best for giving review only because of ur unique styling and the way u shoot the videos.... I had fall in love with this car because of ur way u explains the car....
The differences between the two cars aren’t black and white, sadly. It’s a big patch of grey. When you get inside the Polo after driving the Abarth, you feel you are driving something that is setup much softer. Heck, the Polo might even seem slightly tame to some. But then, you are floored by the build, comfort and not to mention - the convenience. And the GT TSi is not a slow car by any definition, is it? Well since a million people asked me which one is better amongst the two, here’s the answer. Comparing the Polo GT TSi to the Abarth Punto is akin to comparing the Jack of all trades to the Master of One. The Abarth does just one thing - go fast. It does it damn well. It is the master. The Polo on the other hand, is a well built, well-rounded hatchback. It definitely is the jack of all trades in my books. The Abarth is definitely faster, but the Polo is the better car.
This Model of the Polo is the 1.6 ltr engine, it has the GT in the left side as the modern ones with 1.0 ltr has it on the right side, I actually own this car is is still a rocket 8 years later.
The main issue is the engine noise and rear tunnel which allows people to sit inside little bit frustrating and this car doesn't contain more features which is worst spending money with it than buying Elite i20
Any info about VW Polo 1.5 Diesel Automatic.. Will the company bring up tis option...?? Plz reply.. I'm luking for Diesel Automatic for long distance traveling..
I am planning to buy polo gt tdi, the dealer offered me a discount of 40k for the older 1.6 gt tdi. So should I buy the new gt tdi priced at 9.5 lakhs or older gt tdi for 9.1 lakhs. Your opinion please.
buy the new 1 in carbon steel you get a better steering and suspension set up is better it also has cornering lights with double barrel headlamps. I have vento 2013 petrol highline headlamps aren't powerful like polo.
+vinay ks too late i guess but i wud have suggested the older 1.6 . although the difference of 100cc may seem small it matters a lot while driving. Mainly in the second third gear. the 1.6 wil push u back to ur seat with force and put a smile on ur face. not at all the case with the new 1.5 . big difference. its also a second slower to 100kmph. its the same base polo engine tuned to a higher state. if the difference in power doesnt bother u much u can buy the regular polo and save up 60K ! altough u do get a fancy better looking steering wheel in the new polo. but no body mentions the little things. the ash tray is gone the cigarette lighter red ring is gone ..there are many things the new polo has been stripped out of. my suggestion wud be the 1.6. i've test driven the new 1.5 and own the 1.6. the difference is certainly notiecable. gud luck
vinay ks I bought a polo 1.5 TDI 90 ps,after my vento as a second car, must say what it drives and torque feel. with highway cruising average is 22 kmpl.
hi pls help me decide between the tsi gt or tdi gt...my priorities it needs to fun as i already own volvo v40 ,since i can't drive every where in the city and also own brio but it lacks the fun factor...so i need a fast nice car under 10 lks
This review is just another review, and not a powerdrift class. There is a reason I had subscribed to this channel, that reason is no where to be seen in this video.
have decided on the TD GTI over i20 elite asta diesel after a lot of deliberation...the rear space n lack of armrests in the polo still haunts....however, the extra BHPs n torque apart from cruise control n mileage indicators have pushed me to decide on the polo...hope it entices me enuf...
Have always loved PowerDrift, even from the time when it was PowerToTheRider. However, on the contrary note, the car reviews are nowhere close to be as exciting as what bike reviews are. Now, I watched this Polo GT TDI review with an expectation to hear about what its brawling DSG Auto gearbox could have done on a hot hatch when befitted with a powerful and above the industry standard 1.6L engine but what I got is, suspension, understeer, cramped rear seat. Well such information is required but not on a lead role. When someone is spending over 11Lakhs on a hatch, he wants to know what makes it that pricey and is that change worth it and the biggest change is the engine. Believe me, I can live with those suspensions and under/oversteer or even that cramped rear space. But that said, it's just my point of view.
+Nathan Aditya Ecka Agreed. their car reviews aren't as great as the bikes but that's also because bikes automatically make everything sexy. Bikes > cars ! they did not talk about the DSG gearbox because this is the GT TDI not the TSI. only the petrol TSI gets the DSG auto. the TDI thankfully is a manual which is perfect for an enthusiast! They cant review about stuff which is not available in this car. Nor would it look cool to crib about something which they cant do shit about. And this car not having the DSG is a blessing! why would u buy a performance hatch and let the car do everything for u! where's the fun in that??? Another thing. this car doesn't cost over 11 lakhs. who told u that?? And its pricy because of our stupid Indian excise duties. a car whose engine capacity is over 1500cc pays more than double the excise duty paid by the ones falling in the lower category...which is ..all the other hatchbacks. but that amounts to nearly 60K which is more than justified for the performance u get with this. and with the discounts offered this car is cheaper than the stupid useless i20 elite. I own this car and its been a pleasure till date. the only sad thing is you get addicted and used to the performance and quality and then get dissapointed if u happen to drive sum1 else's car. oh yea and the cramped up rear space . thats true but only by a small margin. this is because the engine bay is huge!
I think it's expensive, I'd rather have a vento for a lil extra money & get a large boot and much more cabin space. The cross country is the biggest rip off though in the polo lineup !
Hey Gautam ! It looks like the vento & the polo tdi share the same engine with the same power & torque figures, with 494 litres boot space on the vento vs. 295 on the polo & 55 litres fuel tank vs 45, wheelbase is 100 mm more too ,all of these help the vento be more of a "Grand Tourer" than the polo can ever be. As for the honda city I'd prefer a jazz over it & save 2 lacs, I'd still get 350 lts boot space & the same diesel motor as the city & it's a far more practical "City" car than the city is :p
If you meant the vento has lower torque/power in comparision to city that's still not accurate, Vento's 103 hp vs 99 & 250 Nm vs 200. I drive a fabia with 75 hp/180 Nm & I've never felt the need for more in the city or on the highway. My problem with honda is that they don't feel plush or well built, we own a civic but I feel the octavia or jetta have nicer interiors & feel solidly built : )
Vento won't get you the sporty look as polo does. Also check for your need of boot and rear leg room space (frequent use or not?), to spend 14lakhs on vento high line plus or 11lakhs on polo gt tdi on road.
PD team. THANKS A LOT guys. This review came just in time for. Took test drive of this beast on sunday..and was still contemplating if I should actually book the 1.2 TDi or was the extra money for GT TDi worth it. I do loved the engine and weight of the front nose..and your review confirmed that too. You guys did forget to specify tge FE though. Just that one last question. How is the Polo to own and maintain. Service ? Spare Costs ? Quality issues ? Thanks again for a definite and crisp review as always !!!!
Hi there, PD team Great review & literally has convinced me to go for a test drive for sure BTW could you please let me know which song/music is being played at the end of this vid ? Thank you :)
U have lost the magic which was difference maker from rest, n most importantly the TEN HUT needs to be back from exile to save the world for u guys....
vw has a brandname andfor its price, it is expensive, a fiat abarth could put the polo to shame but polo does give you the feel of being in an expensive car
Ofcourse...it's the visuals of the review, that used to make a difference before, now I realise, without the magic of the man in the visuals..its just another review..sadly..its really boring..
lol u call that power! buy swift and mod it fr the same dough u gonna spend on the gt and the swift is the king of the hill all day!....Ps wait fr the swift sport to release in india!
+Abhinav Kumar this car wud run circles around your modded swift lmao . and also the khatara chassis of swift will tear apart 1 wheel at a time if given more than 150 bhp of power . stop having unrealistic dreams. if u want to compete ur swift with this car try some other department. u can shout loudly that ur swift is cheap :) u win there :) . or u can compete in the build quality department.. both interior and exterior ...that is if u spend the " same dough" as u swaggingly say it and change the whole thing .. may be it can have new badge. new swift (mahenga wala edition) lol
+THE SEARCH! I had enquired about the GTI long ago. it's highly unlikely because of obvious reasons. it would be like the hardly selling mini cooper or the vw beetle. But atleast they look unique.knowing VW...the GTI wud hardly look any different to the regular polo. a 180 bhp gti and would have what you call a kryptonite price tag of around 25 lakh. considering the fact that the polo has a very strong chassis which can handle 200 bhp+ of power the GTI wud come with the same chassis. so now it wud make sense to buy the GT and then spend some "dough" to remap the engine and upgrade to better suspension brakes and tyres. if at all u want a GTI that is which in my opinion is way too much that u can use on indian roads and conditions. But vw are known for talking bold steps and they can afford it too. so who knows may be the GTI will make it to india ..
THE SEARCH! well you seem pretty excited but GTI isn't available and it coming to india is a rare possibility. i guess you got to calm down and not showoff(+carefree too) at the moment. :P
This guy for sure doesn't know what the heck GT stands for. What a shame. A bit more enthusiasm in the voice is the need of the hour as rightly said by cagedmm69. Please do a bit more research and tell the world the whole meaning of a Gran Tourer. Kudos
54 hundred rpm liiter? man this car at around 44-45 hundred rpm loose its power ,just look at dyno graph this car it have best power from 32 hunder rpm to 44 hundred rpm after 44 h., power go down on 54 hundred rpm limiter you have maybe 50 horse power ....

If only VW India can get it's act together and realize that they also have an After Sales business, I will buy this in a heartbeat
What I would have wanted if i bought this car as of today-
- Bi-xenon projector lamps

You guys have the potential to start an auto-magazine ! you will do great there too !
Power Drift Rocks!! Hope these reviews start coming in TV channels soon. Good luck Guys!!

new maruti swift zdi or vw polo gt tdi which is best package? please advice me...
Just not the feel of a ***** review. Get well soon Ten Hut . Nice attempt though.
Hey, Nicely done. Touched the right chords
The main issue is the engine noise and rear tunnel which allows people to sit inside little bit frustrating and this car doesn't contain more features which is worst spending money with it than buying Elite i20

Really super mass driving bro, vw polo is not a polo it's a jaguar... 🐴🐎🐎🐎

But u guys y didn't put review for VW POLO 1.2 ltr diesel engine car..........???
Oh okay fine thank you for ur reply PD guys :)
I think it's expensive, I'd rather have a vento for a lil extra money & get a large boot and much more cabin space. The cross country is the biggest rip off though in the polo lineup !

Thanks again for a definite and crisp review as always !!!!
Vento is just another sedan, while this is a very special hatchback... Just check out the power isto weight ratio.
Sir which 1 moves speed gti or GT tdi
GTI is much, much more powerful than the GT twins. But between the TSI and the TDI, the TSI has a slight edge when it comes to the experience.
tell which is best elite i20 or polo gt
U can compare a standard Polo with an i20 elite not with a Polo GT :)
santosh varma if u need a comfort car.. u can choose i20. bcz of less maintanace charges.. Polo GT TDI is a perfomnace car .
price???
If u think a diesel loves to rev, then clearly u have just landed from mars.
Hi there,
PD team
Great review & literally has convinced me to go for a test drive for sure
BTW could you please let me know which song/music is being played at the end of this vid ?
Thank you :)
Never-mind
I found it out
Good Day.
Expecting a review for the new VW Jetta plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
105ps in a hatch is gr8! but kinda lacks in punch 0-100 in 10.85 sec is pretty slow
abarth is the answer
Have you driven one yet
i miss Ten Hut :(
Nothing against these guys but I think something was missing in this review which we have come to expect from PD..
U have lost the magic which was difference maker from rest, n most importantly the TEN HUT needs to be back from exile to save the world for u guys....
should wait for the polo facelift.... or buy the gt tdi....
❤
Its so freakin expensive, I'd go for a verna 126 bhp instead :P
A bit more enthusiasm in the voice is the need of the hour. Nonetheless a good presentation.
The guy in the video mentions 1.6 ltr but it actually is a 1.2 turbo charged diesel ain't it, correct me if m wrng
Turbo Charged, yes! But it's a 1.6 ltr 4 cylinder.
is this really worthy than a swift???
ya but my doubt is swift does 0-100 in 13.5 secs ,3 sec slower than gt , but it has a great handling than gt??
vw has a brandname andfor its price, it is expensive, a fiat abarth could put the polo to shame but polo does give you the feel of being in an expensive car
Ofcourse...it's the visuals of the review, that used to make a difference before, now I realise, without the magic of the man in the visuals..its just another review..sadly..its really boring..
how efficient is this car? *****
I am the owner of a GT TDi. In my 2 months of ownership, I've got a max/min of 22/16kmpl on highways
lol u call that power! buy swift and mod it fr the same dough u gonna spend on the gt and the swift is the king of the hill all day!....Ps wait fr the swift sport to release in india!

This guy for sure doesn't know what the heck GT stands for. What a shame. A bit more enthusiasm in the voice is the need of the hour as rightly said by cagedmm69. Please do a bit more research and tell the world the whole meaning of a Gran Tourer. Kudos
***** Haha. No worries. Just another moto enthusiast here ;)
54 hundred rpm liiter? man this car at around 44-45 hundred rpm loose its power ,just look at dyno graph this car it have best power from 32 hunder rpm to 44 hundred rpm after 44 h., power go down on 54 hundred rpm limiter you have maybe 50 horse power ....
ford figo next gen tdci is better
cmon polo doesn't have a good suspension as compared to many other cars like honda city even though they are at the same price range, and in terms of speed the fiat abarth can put it to shame ..... only thing polo has got is it's interiors
not only the interior quality; volkswagen is known for its safety. German engineering brooo
indian market gets an out dated version of the polo which is based on the old platform which means the polo we get is more heavier and not stiffer compared to the polo sold in other countries
Same price range?? are you sure?? i got the city VX idtec for 14.5 and now buying polo GT for 10.5 ..get your facts right first
people dont go for the top variant in city since there is no change in performance .....in any case city offers
way better suspension and stability
abarth is slightly more expensive than polo but also half as much powerful ....also polo drains the most fuel compared to all cars in india
so however you look at it polo sucks at its performance and high maintenance cos when compared with any other car and the only thing it has going on for it is its brand name which some wannabe's will want to get
Well for me , its the drive that Polo GT TDI offers, makes you keep on revving the engine and love driving even more.If there wasn't this thing in polo gt , nobody would be paying 10 lakhs for such a small car . As for the city , people do go for the top variants since it is a bit more premium. The prices have increased though from last year. I still don't feel the city's suspension to be as good as polo gt to be honest considering the amount of body roll while cornering. But then again its a family car so its better not to expect much.
