My mother and I used to watch this show, usually every weeknight before dinner. She used to say that they would mix the stuff up in the store to confuse people. She would say, if they didnt do that then it really wouldn't be much of a challenge for anyone. Considering moat of them are stay at home wives who know every grocery store's set up like they know their own name.
Actually, Calin... This is *ONE of the MANY...* Lifetime broadcasts of "Supermarket Sweep". Lifetime ran the show from 1990 to 1995, so you had a LOT of Lifetime shows, not just one.
The biggest amount of time in the Big Sweep was 4 minutes which was witnessed in Season 5 IIRC. Now here's something factual, in the episodes that had the 30-second shootout, the team that ran Mini-Sweep #2 gets to play last. In Seasons 3-4, the highest Sweep time duration possible was 4:20 but like the previous season, in this season, the highest possible is 4:30.
Well, hard to believe with the current theme music used as a Big Sweep win cue(only 2-4 episodes had that not counting the conclusion stages of the Twin Car Giveaway month), it's possible that this was the season's first taping session as I can witness by the skinnier text of the clues in the Bonus Sweep.
LMAO!!! Where do you think the term "babe" CAME FROM, Voltaire??? That is NOTHING NEW! Couples used to call each other more than "babe" back in the days. Even better... they actually knew how to *SPELL* the word "BABE"!
Linda didn't make it back in time because she took the longer route and went around the isles. A short cut would be to go through the isles and she would've gotten back in time.
It was his compromise with the producers. He didn't care for the dress shirt and tie combo so he told them he wanted both to be loose as actual store managers wore them back in the day. (he preferred the sweaters he wore, but at some point producers made him switch wardrobes)
listen the next time your at the check out stand & you hear the beep...dit....dit....think of the fun you could have saying....garry i saw you &your daughter sailor on SUPERMARKET SWEEP!!!!!
I'm watching it now!!!
I don’t mind the old commercials they are fun to watch.
Wow! First run airing? That's cool.
I’m glad this show is coming back
My all time favorite game show.
is a legendary game show.
Mine too
From the looks of it, an original Lifetime broadcast from their "Big Time" daytime block of game shows in 1994.
No. 1996, my fourth grade year.
There should be a Black Friday version of this show
I wonder if the new Supermarket Sweep is going to have Self Checkouts LOL
Wayne & Linda are a great team together!
They won $5,000
Oh my goodness I us to love this show.
Me too!!!
So... are you saying that you *DON'T* love this show anymore?
I liked how that clue for the first product used that slogan they were using during that time.
I love Wayne grabbing that one candy bar lol
I love the commercials in between. I’m not sure that you’re actually aloud to show them but I hope you are cause they’re great
Wow... You must be new to RUclips.

It's funny watching this from the UK. It's full of product placement. In the UK this was illegal so we only mentioned generic products.
"Have you seen anything more beautiful/" if Wayne were smart he would have said "yes , Linda!"

One of the fastest bonuses I’ve seen
The modern day buzzer beater of $100,000 Pyramid, and now the modern day buzzer beater of Supermarket Sweep.

That red team was on it. They dominated through the whole game.
If you went on the Show, would you have a Girl as your Teammate?
David is also so extra with the introductions.
Great job
aww even back in the day, old school kids called their significant other "babe" haha
LMAO!!!

Even better... they actually knew how to *SPELL* the word "BABE"!
Wish this was real I'd fill my cart with crab legs and steaks.
me too I woukd grab all the high priced meat and I don't eat pork but all the ham and donate it to shelterd
If this was real, I'd buy enough meat to start my own steakhouse, because that's where the most expensive items are
Gabriela Mallo don't for get the seafood..
Don't forget the lobster
I don't think they have seafood in this market.
At 18:11 "Oh shit, I forgot to grab things while I was grinding the coffee."

Do you like Barney and Friends?
At least he remembered to pick them up to avoid the $25 penalty.
John Lee Also further more, there are Penalties for running into a Cameraman or a Market Display such as the Sodas.
He's no Dale Winton ;)
They got the 5000$$$ with 20 seconds to spare!
Finally a winner 😃
If you went on the Show, would you have a Girl as your Teammate?
Good

Does the winning team split the money or do they each get five thousand dollars?
WAYNE & LINDA WINS $5,000
Do they even make Certs anymore?
the biggest prize was $5,000, and this was 1994, $5,000 wouldn't be much today but back then it was alot of money
It wasn't "alot" of money then, either. "Alot" isn't one word.
Diane C why are you correcting everyone? It's annoying get a hobby.
Well if you get $5000 then feel free to give the shit to me because I can do A LOT with it
What is the most amount of time someone earned toward the big sweep? I don't remember a lot of people getting 3:20 or more.
dkblazer24 I've seen 3:30 a couple of times, even watching as a kid I can't remember anyone having more than that.
+kongowongo I remember someone having 3:50, but I think the record was 4:00
The record was 4:00 set by one team.
@@USaustin, goddamn. They should have easily rung up 2000 bucks with that much time.

Am I the only one who notices that David’s shirts are always too big for his body?
Would you rather have him wear shirts that are *TOO TIGHT...* for his body???
This is David Ruprecht, not Kate Upton.

Jennifer wasted some time if you saw it.

Why can't people spell? It's "you're". As in "you are". Not possessive, as in "Let's go to your house".
