- Moving to Texas from New York has been great so far. Living in Houston Texas has its pros and cons as any city does, but I'm loving it! Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions that I haven't addressed in this video and what you would like to see in Part 2!

Girl, I thought I was the only one, I have anxiety about driving so I don’t. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and want to move to Houston. I’m glad you made this video…it lets me know that it’s possible.
That makes me so happy!! Working remote or from home really changed the game
You don’t need a car in Houston. However, you should either live in the city ( close to downtown, or Midtown). Or live in an area that has multiple bus lines. The Galleria Mall area is saturated w/ bus lines.
Or take Uber/Lyft, many options 📌
This was really comforting. I am not comfortable driving either. This was a great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I currently live in New York, definitely thimk about moving to Houston and driving gives me anxiety as well. Thank you do much for the video🔥🔥I am in health care so I can't work remotely from home so I guess I will have to live close to my work area.
I def wanted to take that leap of faith and go down there soon. Not having a car is my only problem right now 😭
Oh wow! I knew I wasn’t alone lol honestly it depends on the area you choose to live. Downtown is walkable and houston is so big there’s downtown like pockets all over. Once you get to the suburbs though you definitely need a car
@@LifeCoachYvette okay noted, thank you!
Uber/Lyft📌
I agree with you on that I WFH and I can keep a full tank for about 2 weeks before I need to go to the gas station because I literally don’t move through out the week day. So I do think not having a car is easier for you due to working from home.
Right!! Especially with these gas prices smh
N this is exactly what I needed to hear !!!next yr I’m moving Jim over here researching n stuff
Listen it’s possible. I have a car now because I got a new job that required me to go out but if I went back to remote I would love to be without it 😭 Uber me pleasee! It’s pretty much the same financially if you work from home and Uber when you need to. Also, I highly recommend looking into tanglewood area where things are walking distance but still a nice suburb vibe
You look so happy! It’s good thing you didn’t have a car because the cost to ship that car would’ve cost you another car. I’m assuming it was more expensive to have all of your things moved at once with the delivery guys ? Plus I heard the more small things you have them move the harder it is to pinpoint what’s missing immediately.., AKA stolen 😉
I am waiting on the apartment tour, take us apartment shopping or grocery shopping , take us with you as you walk to your destination. A vlog!! You know I love vlogs. You and I have been supporting one another for a long time . You’re smart and beautiful, keep going . You’ll have 2k subscribers soon . I think the vlogs will get you there . You know me it’s hard for me to leave a short comment.😜
Thank you soooo much for your support!! Time is flying and I hope so because I'm so close to monetization.
I want to move to Houston one day. Glad you enjoy it. I’m also from NYC.
I love it!
Yes I’m from NY and was discouraged to not having a car yet. But I know moving to a new city is my calling, I prayed on it. I plan on staying in a airbnb and applying for jobs near by, I have experience in everything lol thanks to NY. I’ve applied to remote jobs as a backup . I’m so glad I came across this video in 2024 ❤, super helpful and I love to walk to girl 😂.. them folks are just gonna have to call me crazy than cause I’m walking.
Lol you got this! I recommend tanglewood area..there’s apartments with a supermarket (HEB) within walking distance. They also deliver. You’re gonna be set especially if you get a remote job.
I have been thinking about moving to Houston. I have been driving for years but I just started driving on the highways. So idk how I’ll manage in HTX without driving highways. Also I’m a social worker too! I have so many questions. Is there a way we can connect?
Hi girl! Happy new year! Great move..I have always liked Texas from what I have seen...however I've never visited. Once I can find a good job and other things I'd definitely consider. Congratulations on the move🙏👍🥂🥳
Happy new year! Thank you!! Yesss out here its much easier to get a job with the texas license so I would recommend transferring that ASAP. It takes forever lol
@@LifeCoachYvette You're welcome! Thank you for sharing all this info....I'll be waiting for the next video. In the future I'd definitely like to leave NY...🙏👍😁
Congrats on the move!!! Love your tips !
Thank youuu ☺️
soo good! I would love to live south, I just gotta keep convincing Charles but you def get more for your money~
Are you still working for the same University or at one in Houston?
lol its always the men that need convincing I wonder why but you gotta get him to visit and see all you can get for your money that usually helps lol..im working from home currently but thats about to change..I gonna do a life update video 😭
Found you in the Facebook Group!
Welcome 🤗
I’m from NY, driving is a no! Took the words right out of my mouth 😩
Lol glad I’m not the only one & don’t get me started on the prices of cars 😭
@@LifeCoachYvette girl i understand u 100% i lived in NY my entire 27 years and a car is deff not a necessity here but when I relocate to TX i understand why a car is considered to be needed but when u learned to get by without a car in NY you can make anything work 😩
This is just great 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! ❤️
Heyy I want to move out of New York so bad but I want to wait for my older son to finish high school Im really thinking about Texas never been but I would love to visit oneway. I look forward to more videos like this
I will definitely keep them coming! I am so happy to be out of NY. It was a long time coming. That sounds like the perfect timing for you. For now, I would definitely recommend visiting so you can get a feel of the different cities, Austin vs Houston vs Dallas. Also, if you don't drive, practicing for when you come if you are planning on living in the suburbs.
@@NYCWoman No, not planning to
You are amazing and the video is on point 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much 😀
I’m from Brooklyn live in Arizona moving to houston this was a great video
Thank you! Have you visited?
I need to hear this.
Congratulations beautiful! If you don’t mind me asking where do you work ? I’m moving to Houston next month without a car and I’m also looking to work from home . :)
Thank you!! And best of luck in your move. I love Houston and I hope you do as well. I work for Zeiders Enterprises..I also teach online. There are many remote opportunities and Facebook groups that post them.
Nice video not everyone has to drive especially in nyc but I got a car and I live in nyc but I think you don't need a car in Texas probably because you got a college degree if you didn't you probably wouldn't be working from home no offense because most people have to travel a long distance to work in NYC so in Texas where public transportation is trash I'm pretty sure you have to travel even further
Thank you! There’s so many opportunities now for work from home jobs but the pay is lower for most and some are call centers which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but you’re right there are better opportunities if you have more education
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
omg. this explains the absence of NYC real estate and salary videos Good decision on no car- don't know how that will work in Big Texas. At least get a nice bicycle!!! A 30 minute walk is a 10-minute bike ride- plus you've got a basket for groceries. And a nice work-out at the same time!
Thank you, I never thought of that! I would definitely get to places quicker than by foot lol
@@LifeCoachYvette You also won't get strange looks! Especially if you wear those exercise bike clothes. You'd just get admiring stares from drivers- "I wish I could be biking just like her!"
@@heyquantboy lol forreal! & one with a little basket from quick pick ups
Planning to move in Houston from NYC by June can you please tell me what moving company you use. Thanks.
Nice! It’s called Poseidon
Wow you have some beautiful skin
Thank you 😊
I think as an adult, you should learn how to drive. I learned how to drive at 19 and thankfully it has came in handy. Glad you’re making videos again!
Definitely, just like learning how to swim..survival skills! Thank you!! Yes, I’m back & almost monetized 🤞🏿
8 months?! I got questions that may be answered as I watch. Did you sell your house or are you renting it is a big one I want to know lol
Renting 😭😭
@@LifeCoachYvette that’s not a bad thing right. You’re still building equity. Hopefully some of the rent is able to go towards your place too🙏🏾
Not a good idea, no good public transportation 😢
I can’t even imagine taking public transit after taking it all my life in NY lol
Why did you decide to move? Are you renting your condo in NYC?
Yes, I am. I saw what I could get in Houston which is what I’ve always wanted (pool, gym, great weather, etc.)
I have some math for you 1million people put in a dollar a day for a year how much does that add up to
hi do you still have your condo in ny ,do you still do airbnb
Yes, I do & no I do not do Airbnb
Definitely need a vehicle in Houston.
😩😩😩
Uber/lyft
Houston is amazing, but a car is a must have. The drivers are insane here though.
I keep hearing that and that makes me even more nervous lol
Not a must have, just uber
@@luxejohn exactly!!
What you did with the condo?
I still have it..I will do an update video
I’m moving without a car🙂↕️
Yessss you got this! Do you have a remote job?

Yup, I have friends from NY that have moved after I did and still don’t have a car
