KL has been a revelation. What a catch that was off Mehedy. It's a luxury to have a batsmen who can tear apart bowling attacks at the back end of the innings and get the team through top order collapse if that happens (it will happen very rarely in Indian conditions) , I mean who better than a guy having test hundreds in South Africa, England and Australia to bat at 5. He won't get the hundreds batting at 5, but will have an impact which is as good as anybody.
Main baat hai ki woh solid player hai aur uske pass hitting ability bi hai. Aur new ball khelna ka adat bhi hai. Achha hai no. 5 par woh kabja kar liya mereko lagta hai test mai bhi no 5 mai khelega.
It's not the same thing. Sachin didn't play in an era where 300 was an average score and 400 a common event. Also, Kohli never played in the era of Murli, Shane, Donald, Mcgrath, Amrbose, Walsh, etc.etc.
@@abhisjourney So do you mean playing starc,boult,nathan lyon,josh hazelwood,cummins,mark wood,archer,ferguson,santner and anderson etc is an easy task ?do you know na how difficult the pitches are in india in test cricket from last 5-6 years,scoring runs is not easy on these tracks, and in sachin sir era the avg ,teams were making big runs like 600- 800 in a single innings what does this indicates then flat wkts in test cricket or poor quality of bowling in that era ? Anyway for me both are indians is more important than comparing between these two legends,wi fans never compares between ambrose, gardner,holding,walsh and marshall.

Virendra Sehwag needs to think twice before sledging Bangladesh this bad. It was this team who defeated and disqualified India in 2007 WC, he was bowled on 2 by the Bangladeshi bowlers. Indian team is doing the right thing by not taking any opposition lightly, they are giving importance to every match and that's the mark of a champion team
Even though I have myself been angry or frustrated a few times when Virat priotised his century or a half century over team both for india and in ipl(worst of all was taking a single deliberately in last over vs Gujarat in this ipl to get to his century) but in this match, it was totally fair for him to be doing that because it was not gonna have even 0.1% impact on team and also because he had been getting out in 70s and 80s in Odi World Cups a lot so it was a much needed century for him.
I thought it was immature to prioritize his century as brazenly as he did. Ironically KL was at the other end who had missed out on a well deserved century against Australia because he did not prioritize his century. Sure he was disappointed that he hit a 6 instead of 4 on what was to be the last ball of the match but somehow Virat came across as selfish
I also do not like Virat prioritising personal milestones but I guess that's what makes him Virat. Maybe that's what helps him grind it out when our batting has been in difficult situations. What is making this pop out more is the completely contrasting approach of Rohit. Every expert and commentator has been asking each other and no one has a clue apart from left hand swing baller getting him out in first 2-3 overs. Yet he is not at all worried about personal milestones when he can get many.

We all know cricket is the game of Barest of Margins especially having seen the Finals of last ODI WC. Yesterday Virat Kohli denied many singles to ensure he gets to his hundred which meant the match went to 42nd over. If those singles were taken and also encouraged KL Rahul to finish the game early, the match would have finished much earlier and it would have had better impact on NRR and possibly taken it past New Zealand to top the table.. Who knows it could come down to NRR in the end to decide the semi finalists or to decide who plays who in semi finals. Why is it so important to achieve personal milestone rather than doing what is in the interest of the team...?
