    Speed runs using glitch I didn’t know existed ! My claim to fame was I finished this game without dying, however took me a few days I left mY NES ON FOR A WHILE LOL

    very impressive. personally, the glitches diminish the viewing experience though. i blame nintendo though.

    I know of a way to speed this up. By a lot. I discovered ...something, when I was a kid in the 80's that as crazy as it sounds, I've never seen anyone do, or even mention. It can reduce the time spent in certain scenes by quite a bit. For example, if a town takes 10 seconds to walk through, I can do it in 2. I've never tried a speed run, and have no idea how to do the gliches... but if I did, with what I know, I could easily set a new record. I'm dead serious. I could shave off not seconds, but ...minutes.

      I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand but on the other hand you know?
      So in palaces the graphics behave crazy. It makes me start thinking: is this actually playing a video game or is this something else? It's such crazy glitches. I mean, compare this with Zelda 1 speedrunning: we see these screenscrollings, block clips, take advantage of "the 10th enemy got the bomb", frame rules, re-enter dungeon 1 to remove the locked door in the first room, and so on. Beating all 9 dungeons! You must beat all 8 first to have the chance to beat the 9th (last).
      Here it's some crazy insane glitches that allows the player to beat the 7th palace without the need to beat 1-6. So it feels "wrong" but on the other hand it's also a lot of actual gameplay. I know too little about these glitches but I believe it's a lot of frame perfect stuff and THAT is impressive. Most players will probably need so many attempts for each glitch.
      So the summary and why I have mixed feelings: it's so different kind of glitches in this speedrun compared to Zelda 1.
      There's more "normal" speedrunnings in Zelda 2 where you got a tactic for the experience points to upgrade sword/attack, hearts/health and magic. When putting the crystal in each palace you receive a bonus where you will get the experience points for the next upgrade and the tactic is how to do it in the best way to beat the game as fast as possible.
      And then we have Zelda ALTTP for SNES. There's this glitch that allows you to "beat" the game in 1-2 minutes. There's some videos about that on RUclips. But I think that's so wrong, you skip almost everything in the game. I know that Any% allows you to skip so much but if you compare THAT glitch in "Zelda 3" with this speedrun of Zelda 2, it's much more actual gameplay in Zelda 2.
      The debate will probably always live and we all gonna have our own opinions/feelings. This speedrun of Zelda 2 is really impressive no matter how we look at it.
      Personally I prefer to play Zelda 2 the way it's intended to. I cannot even use these glitches. So this is why I agree that this is a lot of cheating. The glitches in Zelda 1 is not that kind of cheating. But it's impressive, I like to watch this because I will probably never be able to use these glitches.
      There's some glitches in Zelda 2 that I'm perfectly fine with and one of these is in the overworld and what's it called? Some squares will send link to a 2D adventure. Same thing with these "enemies" here and there that are moving around. Encounters? Is it called that? So sometimes you can replace that square's own time consuming and hard 2D adventure with the one from the overworld's enemy if you walk to "that square" at the same time as the enemy is doing the same. This is very useful when walking the last road to the last palace. So this "glitch" is perfectly fine! No problem with that.
      I believe that the WR in Zelda 2 with no crazy glitches and beat all 7 palaces is around 1 hour. For Zelda 1 the WR (by LackAttack) is around 27-28 minutes or so.
      Once again, we all have our own feelings about glitches. Def different categories of glitches.
      I'm fine with how to beat some bosses in Zelda 2:
      Dark Link - you stand in the left corner and just stab to the right
      "The ghost" - just stand in the left or right corner and use the reflect to make that "wave" bounce to hit the boss, and you're beating the boss the way you should but the "ghost" that appear on different places will most likely not hurt Link and you never need to move Link. This way of beating that boss is so little bit of true combat.
