Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, or simply Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, is an American animated television series based on the characters of the same name by Marvel Comics. The series is produced by Disney Television Animation, Marvel Animation and Cinema Gypsy Productions, with animation services being provided by Flying Bark Productions. It premiered on Disney Channel on February 10, 2023, and will be released on Disney+ five days later.
After 13-year-old super-genius Lunella accidentally brings ten-ton red, horned, T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur into present-day New York City via a time vortex, the duo works together to protect the city's Lower East Side from danger.
Moon Girl Landing - 13-year-old genius Lunella Lafayette wants to help her family keep their business running after numerous blackouts cause everything to shut down. She builds what she thinks is a generator, but it turns out to be a portal generator that summons a dinosaur. He imprints on her as they run into Casey Calderon, a social media influencer, and encounter Aftershock, an electricity-based villain and the culprit behind the blackouts. With Casey's support, Lunella picks the name Moon Girl and names the dinosaur Devil Dinosaur and become heroes to the Lower East Side. After an intense fight with Aftershock and the revelation that she is her new science teacher Ms. Dillon, Lunella considers hanging up her costume until she gets the support of her Grandma Mimi. With the LES backing her up, Lunella and Devil defeat Aftershock and restore power to the city.
The Great Beyond-er! - Lunella flies through Space before getting rescued by the Beyonder. They end up on a desolate planet where Beyonder's powers suddenly become null. When Lunella spots a black hole, she concludes that they can build a ship that is fast enough to allow them to travel through it. The two must avoid other aliens that have a grudge against the Beyonder as Lunella teaches him to become more independent without his powers. Just as they are about to leave, they are attacked by the Molecule Man, the owner of the planet, and reveals that Beyonder was the cause of the planet's desolation. Molecule Man comes close to killing Lunella, but Beyonder snags his wand, getting his powers and allowing both of them to escape. Lunella is kicked back to the moment she left Mimi, Casey and Devil and reunites with them, but is traumatized from her trip.
Kid Kree - Lunella meets Marvin a mysterious boy who turns out to be a Kree child named Mel-Varr, who was sent to Earth to capture Moon Girl and prove himself to his father, Pad-Varr. Lunella and "Marvin" end up befriending one another over their shared interest in science, while their alter egos battle one another on the streets. Lunella discovers Mar-Vell's true identity, saddening both of them as Mel-Varr genuinely liked her. As Pad-Varr comes to pick up his son, Lunella admits that she still likes him, and Mel-Varr finally impresses his father with his science know-how. Lunella and Mel-Varr decide to stay in touch with each other.

Correction: So, I continually refer to episode 14 as the finale. But it turns out, it's not. There are gonna be 10 more episodes. I found this out after uploading the video.

Let be honest, with the way streaming releases episodes, it’s practically the finale.

No cap, i thought Edwardo was lying that he already got a date. Especially since later in the episode he's by himself.

I don't think he'd lie considering he clearly wanter to. Also, he was sitting next to the girl who said Lunella had messy hair. I think she was his date.

Not that you're obligated to like wakanda but you specifically said MCU wakanda and I wonder what other version you could like or are familiar with that you wouldn't have a similar problem with because it's basically a fantasy pan-african well fantasy with the one conceit being the 1 place that white guys didn't take over or taint and that's a good thing mostly

I'm also familiar with the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon.
I specify MCU because I don't know that much about other versions and don't want to assume they do the same thing.
My problems with MCU Wakanda kind of exist for every version of it in at least some small way by the very nature of Wakanda even in EMH, but the MCU brings it to the forefront in an almost baffling way.
For instance: I'm sure most versions of Wakanda spy on other nations for threats to themselves. I can acxept that. But the MCU having an armed force go to another country, literally declare that they can do whatever they want, and then nearly kill people who are technically on the same side as them for no reason, and then act morally superior about it is baffling. And an unsettling thing to establish as just something the most powerful country in the world is willing to do. And I get the sense audience is supposed to cheer because they're Africans and not the usual suspects. I'm African. Not impressed.
So with this show's version of Wakanda actively recruiting children from other countries, literally as spies, I'm a bit worried.

@@JesseGolo Part of the issue is we have to say this is happening in the world outside of your window and the implication is well if there's this magical super secluded African super state then how do they make sure that they're not bothered by other people
While also having them available for adventuring now if the premise of your team is say being Explorers like the fantastic 4 where they were introduced fine but you do have to figure out how you tie them to the greater world
Well at the same time they have no world history
      That leads into another issue
Well the simplest reckon is to say that there's spying on everyone and making sure to not be aware until such a time that they interact with the wider world
This has the knock on effects of yes you create they're spicy they're having to be so bad a** or do something violent while across national borders which is something that for the most part is accepted with superheroes doing it's just not usually put in a social political context well accept in the movies or if you really really want to do that to be fair it's been a pseudo conceit of Marvel for a while because the great villain Doctor doom was Lord of a fictional country And that gave him diplomatic immunity and his embassy whenever he'd jump out in order to harass the fantastic 4
It did also give them the conceit of why they didn't just throw him in jail or get rid of him because it either be a doom bot or it would be an International incident if they did
I have to admit I'm not sure there's a way you can go with the concept of wakanda without that being the case or you go full on alternate universe which has not really been an aspect of Marvel or DC Comics despite the fact it has been most places are usually isolated or relatively blended in obviously we do not have a metropolis in the United States but it's said to just be a special city that you just haven't gone to yet
Sorry wait I shouldn't let the accent throw me you're pretty much very familiar with American comics right question mark I mean you're American or not I don't know

      @@manticoraus I'm Nigerian.
Yeah, things get real complicated once whole fictional countries are involved in the whole Superhero thing.

Its was a fine review, but your forced input of the BP movie and its sequel hindered this, more than fine to dislike and dispise it in any way you see fit, I don't see how you would've depicted Wakanda any better, and also that sexist crack, ain't it, you might need to learn how to critique better.

I disagree. This isn't reall a good review, mostly because it's not a review, it's more of a thematic analysis with occassional review-like remarks. And the Black panther comparion is relevant in analysing how the show portrays its own Wakanda. If anything, the problem is that I didn't go into more detail with the comparison to justify it, but then it'd probably be distracting from the point of the video.
      What sexist crack?
