That dog must have separation anxiety since you put up with the dog no matter what it does to keep you from ignoring it. Walking across the freshly poured and trowled slab would have gotten it excluded from the area at my home! 😳😁🐕🍺
Thanks for putting this up. A few questions as I plan on doing this myself. I am told the total depth has to be about 120mm for 2000L tank. How is your tank doing ? What make and wattage is you pump? Do you leave your pump in place and would you recommend any housing for the pump? Any additional thoughts about the process now that you have set up your own system? Thanks
Hi Sylvia, So the strength and depth will depend on coulple things. For example this tank was right next to our house in place that gets quite water logged. So kinda overdid the base to be sure but looking back it was a bit of an overkill. As long as the ground is pretty hard and level you dont need to make the base that thick. For example i am helping my dad with a large 5250 Lt tank. For his base he dug in to the group to level. Then did a concrete boarder. Then after filled with stone/sand, then cemented paving bricks over the whole base. So not as much foundation. So i do leave my pump in place but can easily be moved by unscrewing the two bolts that hold the feet down. For now i have a large container covering it but a housing would be good no matter what. For longivity. Main thing to always think about before planning is height of your tank vs what the high of the down pipe will be once fitted. Incase your roof is low. Oh and if you can afford it and have the space. Always try go for bigget tank as will be cheaper than getting 2 smalls one over time. Let me know if you have any other qwuesitons

Hi there. On these Jojo tank created in South Africa. You can find steel stand for them (great to lift up for additional pressure) or even put wooden sleepers/blanks under them ever so often. Usually according to the manufacturers standards. I think my cent base was a bit of an overkill in depth. About 10 - 15cm not 100% sure. But for a 1000L you may be able to use large stone pavers on compacted foundation, depends if tall or wide though. hope this helps. Cheers Colin

The concrete should be above grade with a gravel base of several inches
