The SD70MACH locomotives are quite the seen around Chicago. Never thought an SD70 would be pulling passenger trains. The ALC-42s, not sure how reliable and stunning they are. I call them “lemons” because on the first few days that they were in service, they broke down due to the extreme cold weather and a P42 had to be added to the train to accompany the two newly manufactured units. They seem to keep breaking down lately and having to be rescued by a veteran freight diesel locomotive or a P42.
2:58 nice little acknowledgement from the engineer!
Great video, and I must say I find the Metra SD70MAC locos absolutely stunning !
Aren’t they awesome looking? I’ve heard a lot of positive things about their performance as well. Thanks !

Right you are! Got to love it 😂
Nice bro! I was there not long ago.
Thanks! I hope you enjoyed the area as well
The Southwest Service line still haven't gotten these new SD70MACH locomotives yet. Why Metra haven't done that yet?
I imagine they will start to be seen on more of the system as newer ones arrive in the future
