Steve, I’ve been studying your videos, in addition to watching the Mike Videos you post, great content. It’s a lot like my swing when I was younger, but unfortunately I made changes, but thanks to you I’m swinging the club better, longer, and with more accuracy. I’m 68, so it’s never to late to improve. A big Thank You!
This video has been really great, well almost a revelation to me,- and I’m actually really eager to get to the driving range (which I haven’t seen for at least five years). Thank you to both of you..👍🏻👍🏻
Steve, excellent video and lesson. When Walt swung the speed woosh for ladder speed, you didn't mention any of his speeds. What were they for comparison? I'm 73 and my swing speed is 88. Used my orange whip, speed woosh, and my driver without ball for the drills, first time today. Got 81 on the orange whip, 103 on the woosh, and 91 on my driver. Any suggestions? Will continue my quest for 100+. Thanks.
hey Steve! last night I ordered the power coil and the whoosh... can't wait to get them in. wondering a couple of things... are the drills included with my order? also, while doing the first drill, this young man had a great shoulder turn (especially for his age), but I'm wondering do we try to keep the head in a position to still see a ball, or let it turn (like his) with the shoulders? thanks for these videos!
@@nbargolf It's a good point. It shows that if we are to have a big shoulder turn that we must also work on maintaining full range of motion at the neck.
Thank you Steve and Walt. Very impressive speed training results. Just curious what degrees of loft Walt’s driver is and if it is not the the same loft as yours Steve; what distance would Walt get using a 5.5 degree driver or whatever you are using these days Steve.
Steve Terminology in describing the golf swing in my opinion limits the brains initiation of the proper movements. As shoulder turn , I believe the shoulders can’t turn , it looks like they turn but it is the core that rotates ,
Steve, when you start doing the drills , how long until some of your gain will stay with you to give you a new elevated norm? I also tried to order your coil Sid but wasn’t able to do so as your system kept saying my password didn’t match, even after I changed it.
It really depends on where you are when you start. I would gain 1 mph per week with hard work, where someone with a short backswing and low speed might gain 10 mph right off the bat.
@@Inmotion70 thank you. I will try again to purchase your training device and give this a try. At 74 I can use some speed to maintain what distance I gave. My current speed is usually between 85-90.
OMG - Help that poor old man, he is hanging onto that elastic band for his life with his cheeks puffing and blowing and face turning red! You better hope no one reports you Steve for cruelty LOL!
The reason the old guy hits them pretty long has little to do with Mr. Pratt's advice. He has fast muscle fibres. I guess he was very long when he was young. You can't train that. You have it or you don't. My golf buddies tell me: your swing is flawless but it looks like slow motion. When I was 35 I carried the ball 220y. Twenty years later it's down to 205y - using much better golf gear. Mickelson was very long when he was 30. He has the same swing, much better equipment - yet he's 20 yards shorter now. Same goes for Freddie, Miguel Angel, Langer etc. Age may be good for wisdom. For everything else it's detrimental.
Just wow. When I met Walt his longest drive was 180 yards with an enormous slice, and he nearly fell over on every swing. His average score was 105. He had never driven a golf ball farther than this and only took up the game when he retired. Little to do with my advice? Please apologize or I will perma ban you off my channel.

Gonna try this - amazing. Gives me hope.

I'm not quite there yet, but keep watching the videos on the channel as they often feature these devices with different drills.
Agree when he is at 100 plus degrees shoulder turn his head is turn totally away from the ball

Impressive!! Hope for me yet!!

Walt would get much lesson distance because he's not swinging fast enough to create lift. He uses a 10.5 and generally hits up 3-5.
What are you doing with Walt's thumb and setup?
You will see in the next video with him. Stay tuned!

Different keys for different people. I use shoulder turn(Watch Ernie Els, he gets his left shoulder behind the ball).

What’s Walt’s handicap? How far does he hit a 6 iron approach.?
Steve
I really need your help
OK. Email me at Steve@hititlonger.com.
Nice 👍
looks like he swings across the line.. My guess is a big cut ( or slice )

HA actually Walt does this stretch all the time and he's quite comfortable...but I will let him know of your concern!
