Your passion is clear and comes through. Thank you for being a wonderful lover of French wines. I myself love love French wines as they are the most palatable and elegant for me.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE WINE VIDEO I HAVE EVER WATCHED-THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU-I've been working in fine dining for 6 months now at a place known for its wine and we are expected to know as much as possible-its been daunting to say the least- I think I've survived only because I've been serving forever and I know how to give efficient/personal service- I bought 2 wine books-have been studying one on one with our wine director-been tutored by a kind coworker who is a certified wine sommelier - I also paid a yearly service fee of 100$ to a popular wine app- and nothing seems to stick when it comes to dun dun dun Burgundy-your my hero sir- you are so genuine and easy and fun to watch-I see from the comment below me that you stopped making these videos which is super depressing but at least you gave us all the gift of the videos you did produce-I would pay to subscribe to you in a heartbeat the books and app I got are useless-if you come back sign me up -Ill pay you!! lol Seriously-but thank you for saving my ass- It will be such a relief to know the basics so I don't have to keep getting by each shift by the skin of my teeth and my pleasant demeanor-knowledge is power especially at a 5 star James Beard award winning restaurant that boasts its superior and extensive wine offerings not to mention a staff that can answer any questions you or your guests might have-thanks for the help and the hope your my hero!---- Highest Regards and all the best to you my dear!!-Most Sincerely-Em

With 80+ appellations, how do you know the wine is from Burgandy? Burgandy’s appellation system is the most complex I’ve encountered. You excluded bourgogne cote d'auxerre? Why was it overlooked?
Hey, I'm from Nuits-Saint-Georges, and I can't agree more with you! Nice job explaining what is Burgundy, which is, even for some French people, hard to understand! Love your video!
for pinot noir go check out the winery from Philippe Leclerc top really old fashion made wine amazing sean connery my favorite james bond character also was there loving the wine... i can just recommend to go to burgundy ... for me burgundy wine region i just fell in love ... all passionate about good wine and food :))
i was in burgundy on the official grand wine tasting and it was one of the greatest experiences ... small farm towns but ! these little farm towns not only produce to chardonnay and pinot noir ... but these little farm villages have some of the best top restaurant density like no other place i was before. amazing. go visit it i can just recommend it for all hedonists :)))
Nice and irreverent little Bourgogne wine intro! Bravo! On the food comment, why not talk about dishes from Burgundy, such as escargot, Boeuf Bourguignon or frog legs. Also, should mention petit Chablis, non?

When he says Côte d'Or he meant côte de Nuits. Côte d'Or = Côte de Nuits + Côte de Beaune
Great video! Very insightful. You forgot to mention all the ''regional AOCs'' like petit chablis, etc.
Thank you!
Really enjoyed the video.. Are they not phasing out pinot noir for Gamay over the next few years?
