4:57:10 “Menard lost a cylinder, he went back on track to find it” Brutal, Mike, brutal.
Menard never got the credit he deserved in this series. Always did the best he could do with second class equipment.
@Joe Wilson He was a beast at avoiding crashes on superspeedways ..
Basically, Mike Joy's saying what SlapShoes stated once: "It's entirely possible to win a NASCAR race by sheer goddamned accident."
Jeff Gordon had one of his best paint schemes ever for this race.
3:16:00 An overlooked cute NASCAR moment!
5:33:46 HUGE CRASH & FLIP
David Ragan Fan Here And Front Row Motorsports Fan, Let’s Go Ragan And Gilliland
5:52:33 Larry, what did we say when this race started?
ANYBODY can win this race!

*meanwhile every known person in nascar wins other races*
One of the best Talladega races, just bought this raced win diecast and thought I’d rewatch this race!
One of The Most WTF Wins I've Ever Seen
The biggest upset of 2013.
@@zottffss to this day it is the biggest upset in restrictor plate racing
@@hiddenjocelyn1088 It's not even an "oh they just wrecked the guys up front to win" scenario. Ragan legit caught the 3 best cars out there with they drawers down, shot the gap, and Gilliland pushed them both home. Masterful display of opportunism. Had me dying of laughter!
Johnson: _How did this happen?_
Edwards: _Surely we're smarter than this....._
Kenseth: _Evidently not._
@@hiddenjocelyn1088 Trevor Bayne? Derrike Cope? Michael McDowell?
I love this track
Front Row Motorsports' first Cup Series win.
5:52:13. Owner Bob Jenkins celebrating.
Danica absolutely wrecked labonte lol
Wish we saw his reaction when McDowell won the 500
@@JackCallSports Too bad Bob wasn’t at Daytona when it happened
@@CJODell12 wow really
Its amazing to see the great weather that they had during pre race compared to the finish being in the dark
Just noticed DW literally said that “anybody can win this race” “like a David Ragan” literally called it lmao
Darrell: Larry what do we say when this race started?
Darrell & Larry: ANYBODY can win the race 🏁
I honestly miss them as the best NASCAR broadcasters
BEST DAY EVER that day
That's cool to see David Ragan win this NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega in 2013.
I still don't know how Marcos Ambrose managed to stay on the lead lap after being involved in 2 big wrecks to this day.
Jolon Sabeti-Seidel David Stremme was in both and finished 8th
@5:33:56 Anyone hearing a Phil Collins drum solo finale?
It’s obvious that it sounds like Clint Bowyer’s onboard
1:07 NASCAR on Fox opening
12:05 Before the drivers even took to the track in 2013, the anticipation heading into this season was on NASCAR's new ride: the Gen 6 car. Once the focus shifted back trackside, the lady in green grabbed the spotlight on the sport's grandest stage. Danica may have had Daytona's attention, but Jimmie had the last laugh. The desert heat brought a rise in temperature, with some making sponsors happy, while others were not to badmouth the new car, or it'll cost you. With every new season, the boys will be boys. And the racing always brings out the fire. With the pressure to win mounting, the finger pointing starts. And the rules begin to be broken.
In a season that started with change, it's been filled with confusion and controversy so far. But the winners keep winning. And the man at the top remains the same.
19:13 Just 95 miles from Atlanta, 50 miles from Birmingham, right off Interstate 20, you'll find me. A 16-month labor of love. My first name was Alabama International Motor Speedway. But that didn't stick. You can just call me 'Dega. Mr. France wanted a speedway bigger than Daytona, so here I am. The fans humble me. They come from far and wide just to see the cars try and best me. Over 100,000 can sit with me. It don't do much sitting, though. Usually, the fans stand in amazement, anticipating the next big one. Here's where Bobby Allison busted me up in 1987. And 22 years later, Carl Edwards hit me back here on my straightaway. I can't say those legs didn't hurt, but I can take it. Shakespeare wrote, yes, I know Shakespeare, that some are born great, some achieved greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. I might actually encompass all three. I'm proud to say that I was the first to see speeds over 200 miles an hour. But after '87, they mandated restrictor plates. Apparently, I was too dangerous. What can I say? I'm fast. When it's race week, I throw the wildest party in all of NASCAR. Nothing compares to my infield. But those stories? I shouldn't. My start/finish line is further down than the other tracks. You shouldn't need trade me for surprising finishes, drivers leading where other tracks have a finish line, and not always winners by the time they cross my finish line. That fraction of a mile can change history. The man who's seen the most victories here was the intimidator. And that success was passed down to his son. The Earnhardts just get me. I've been a major part of racing history since I was conceived, and I can't wait to see what greatness will be achieved today.

A David Ragan. Lol. I think your correct Darrell.
DW’s a time traveler!
theres tv screens and stuff probably behind the cameras showing screens and data of how many contenders, people are at these tracks way before there live.
🙄

I remember parts of these races but it's mostly a blur. The more I watch these I remember little me watching these live and being so excited to wake up early to watch Nascar. I still wake up early every Sunday but it will never be the same
Right there with ya.. used to watch with my dad and grandma.. remember waking up and pre race would alwyas be on.. today's races are just boring..
Nearly a six hour broadcast. Wow
This was a long and wild race

@@48waffles36 Look up 2012 Daytona 500 .36 Hours Daytona. Over 5 hours long.
It was nearly 8. They said so towards the end applauding the camera crew. Don't forget all the commercials. Especially more during rain delay
greatest intro of all time
I was at this race and watching it back just doesn’t bring the same emotions from that day but it’s close. We went through so many changes in weather, it was a miracle the race even got restarted. It was a bright and sunny morning and turned quickly into mayhem. Add in an underdog win out of nowhere and we got everything you could possibly ask for out of a single day of racing!
Way better than the LP2008 version!
