Im really suprised how deep of a tone keeping the resinator and deleting the muffler gives. I was going to do the opposite but i think now this is my plan.
Hey man, Thank you for making these videos! I have a 2015 Ford F-150 3.5L Eco-Boost and when I seen this video showing what it sounded like with the Borla Pro XS, I bought one and I’m getting it out on soon. Again, thank you for these videos they help me and so many other people so much!
When I got my XLT I was a bit hesitant because I was coming off of a Nissan Titan which only comes with a 5.6 liter V8. I cannot stress how not disappointed I was when I really got into this 3.5 twin turbo EcoBoost! This is my third turbocharged vehicle (I’m 50, almost 51) so I’m not a stranger to the world of boost. I’m sooooo looking forward to getting into this truck!!!
Love the Eco motors for their torque but man the best exhaust for the EcoBoost motors is stock. There is just something about their sound that is very bad.
That Borla was good tbh. That motor will just never sound as good as a V8. But the Borla would be a nice sound to pair with the way these engines pull. I'd still probably leave it stock, but it's definitely the only decent sounding options for these motors.
@@BradChadley I don’t understand why Fords V6’s sound so bad. There are some great sounding V6’s out there, Nissan comes to mind with the Z and GTR. But Fords has a horrible note to it. I personally don’t mind this Borla exhaust but I’d prefer leaving it stock of it was my truck.
@@rocksjoshua Yes, I agree with you on all points. There's an Ecoboost out there on RUclips with a setup that sounds similar to a diesel, and sounds better than any other exhausts I've seen for them. It certainly made for a unique truck.
I had a 2008 STI, stock. And my companies stock F-150 would bury that fuckin thing without a question. That 10 speed is an unbelievable transmission as long as it works.
I think you should push more for high flow cats and a full exhaust rather than deleting components. Yeah its cheaper but nothin beats a full stainless steel exhaust with high flow cats. The growl and lack of rasp or drone is worth the money.
Anything that is not V8 and up should get aftermarket resonator with straight, X, H, or Y pipe, and delete mufflers if you want more sound in my opinion.
Same. I had a 5.0 coyote then I was forced into a 3 5L. Everytine I think about getting out of stock exhaust on the 3.5, I watch videos for options and my mind is quickly redirected to staying stock. These sound like rice rockets with any exhaust modification. Sure miss the 5.0
I straight piped my bronco II BACK IN THE day and put a supertrap on the end of it. Sounded the same as that borla. I could change the disk on the end to change the sound.
I just bought 22 Tremor F150. It’s a great truck. Hauls ass. But coming out of my 20 GMC AT4 with a Carven R exhaust and owning a Cobra with Magnaflow comp exhaust and long tubes with straight h pipe… these engines sound like ass. This borla muffler one is the best I’ve heard. Probably what I’m gonna end up going with.
I have the Borla Pro XS single in single out 3”in and out. It sounds really good with my 2012 f150 3.5l ecoboost with resonator delete and my cats gutted. Sounds SO MUCH better than when it was straight piped. And it doesn’t drome any more as well. 👍🏼
@@trent1234108 I do not have diffusers but I do have the cat codes but it’s not throwing a check Engine light. Witch i do have it custom tune by MPT. Diffusers do work though I have them on a 5.0 mustang that the cats has been gutted on. LOL witch it’s tuned as well.

Have you put a Borla pro XS on a 2.7l ecoboost i love the sound on the 3.5l ecoboost i have a 2.7l 2018 would love to add one if it will sound as good 3.5l ecoboosts
Aside from the burning oil with some people, a tune, 18 ported manifold, and a CAI on the coyote trucks and 10 speeds are pretty damn quick. The ecoboosts are faster due to torque however.
@@chkntndy7727 yeah I understand that they are equal to if not better than the V8 but honestly the older model fords sound amazing I drive a RAM and that HEMI gets me everytime.
@@BLUECOP40 I mean by no way shape or form does a coyote sound as good as a 2V or 3V ford modular but you still get that V8 growl. Rams are nice and all for sound and power, just not a fan of their Quality.
I previously owned 2016 mustang ecboost. I upgraded the turbo and made the engine hold 450hp. The torque was insane on it. Than I bought a 3v mustang and now the v8 sound is another animal. My question is should I remove my x pipe on my 3v to make it sound more deep ? It has no cats with shorty headers.
@@YoteNick I mean, H-pipe is low tone with more torque but X-Pipe is more rasp with more horsepower, but the power gains on either are minuscule. It’s all about sound with those. The EcoBoost mustang is a car that crack around 400whp so 450 is basically living on the skin of your teeth. Sounds like ass too.
Too many beta males wanting their trucks to sound tuff . This exhausted V6 sounds like shit . Reminds me of the little 4 banger imports blaring up the roads from the late 90’s early 2000’s . Just leave it stock, and put a nice stereo system in the truck
Sounds good. But try a Cherry Bomb Vortex! Very nice deep sound with no drone! Check my video out to hear it. Would love to hear one with dual tailpipes!
Nice video!! Very engaging from beginning to end. Nevertheless, businesses and investment are the easiest way to make money irrespective of which party makes it to the oval office.
I'm sure the eco puts out plenty of power and torque for a truck that size but it sounds like a fast and furious car.

In my exp, just never delete the resonators off any car. It deletes the fart can raspy sounds
