I love , love, LOVE Seven Tan and Allen Ren in this drama!!!! So many laughs, tears, romance, mystery...this drama has it all!! So underestimated and underappreciated! The supporting cast of actors and actresses were absolutely amazing too!
The best Chinese drama I've watched until now. It makes you laugh, get angry, cry and love this naive girl that is really sweet. I am a fan of Ren and this is his best performance, he is really a good actor.

3weeks of non stop rewatching this drama.I am super in love to Ren and Seven in this drama.They acted so natural.There is no a lot of kissing but still they have shown love and sweetness to each other 's character.Holding hands,hugs and eye to eye caress are so sweet to captures heart of the viewer.
I've watched both, and some other series as well, but Under the Power is still the best. This adaptation is even better than the book, and I don't say that often!
I've watched The Sword and the Brocade. Loved it and fell in love with Tan Songyun. I watched The Fox's Summer 1 & 2, and I loved it too. So, seeing how great she was, I then watched UTP. This is now the best Songyun series for me. She's such a joy to watch in every scene from drama, comedy, action, and romance. She also has great chemistry with all her male co-stars. I'm a solid Xiao Zhan-only-fan, but I have learned to appreciate Wallace and now Allen through her. Songyun has a refreshing way of delivering her lines, and her gestures and facial expressions are always on point. I think she's naturally extremely pretty and cute! Phenomenal talent that needs more respect and appreciation.

Me too. I, an American, only watched a handful of Chinese TV dramas. Yet I have watched this series more than once. :) The male lead is a great actor. The supporting actors (Both male and female) are also very good.

Since Nov 2000 we paid TVB overseas yearly subscriptions as we like to watch Hong Kong Cantonese series. Recently they have broadcasted more China mandarin series instead of Cantonese. This year I just started to watch it on youtube as I can read and write mandarin. We will stop our TVB subscription from next year.

Watched the Blue Whisper and fell in love with Allen. So now, I wan to watch all the historical drama he's done. LOL, I am watching a few series at the same time and I am starting this one right now!
Have watched hundreds of historical dramas. The character Lu Yi portrayed by Ellen has a special place in my heart. Feel real and perfect. The slow burn romance and the love building is the best among all the dramas I have watched. The script is also very well written.
"MUST KNOW" FOR NEW VIEWERS (no spoiler): if it's 1st C-Drama you watch, you must have this piece of an advice, before you watch this one (don't worry, no spoilers, i hate spoilers). In C-dramas, no matter how realistic it could be, you find these 3+1 really weird "literary motifs", which always astonish me: 1. the girl stumbles her feet and risk to fell down but - from nowhere - a definitely handsome boy catches her. The scene is rallenty and takes several shots. 2. the girl and the boy stumbles into each other and - against any law of physics - kiss by accident. 3. the girl and the boy fell from a - at least! - 200mt vertical cliff while hugging each other, and survive almost unharmed. 4. (not so commom) underwater kiss. Now, if you had watched tens of them, you'd be surprised by this drama :-) Or, you can watch other dramas first. But come back to watch this one, it's definitely worth watching :-) i came back to Ep.1 to post this comment. So, i wish you'd appreciate its script better, now. But i've read many comments, a lot of people is rewatching it. Enjoy!!!
You forgot the almost every time spinning around and around, starring into each other's eyes too when they fall off the cliff or fall anywhere like off a building. LOL

不知道回來第幾次了，新劇總是看得不過癮，又要跑回來看，最近的新劇也是讓人興致缺缺，這對C P感太強，連任嘉倫演的慕白首都覺得沒感，看來只能是這對CP主演才行。這段時間都在看以前的戲。看來再不出點好戲，真是跳不出來了。

说實话，2022年以前我不认识任嘉伦，只知谭松韵。第一次看任嘉伦的剧是一生一世，可惜那剧太垮了，不但無法喜欢上任嘉伦（因為覺得他太矮了，且造型有点土），女主角白鹿更不用提了，演技做作，長的也不夠漂亮，我看了一半就棄了！我是因為谭松韵才看锦衣之下的，沒想到一看一发不可收拾，任嘉伦在這部剧中像是变了一个人似的，高冷酷帅，好个陌上人如玉，公子世無双的感覺，再配上谭松韵机伶古怪，调皮可愛，這组合簡直不要太完美！每一集都有笑点和看点，真是赏心悅目，令我回味無穷！我來回看了好多次！但是后遺症是，看了锦衣之下后，再看任嘉伦與其他女演員的剧都看不下去了！

Since Nov 2000 we paid TVB overseas yearly subscriptions as we like to watch Hong Kong Cantonese series. Recently they have broadcasted more China mandarin series instead of Cantonese. This year I just started to watch it on youtube as I can read and write mandarin. We will stop our TVB subscription from next year.

Have watched hundreds of historical dramas. The character Lu Yi portrayed by Ellen has a special place in my heart. Feel real and perfect. The slow burn romance and the love building is the best among all the dramas I have watched. The script is also very well written.

"MUST KNOW" FOR NEW VIEWERS (no spoiler): if it's 1st C-Drama you watch, you must have this piece of an advice, before you watch this one (don't worry, no spoilers, i hate spoilers).
In C-dramas, no matter how realistic it could be, you find these 3+1 really weird "literary motifs", which always astonish me:
1. the girl stumbles her feet and risk to fell down but - from nowhere - a definitely handsome boy catches her. The scene is rallenty and takes several shots.
2. the girl and the boy stumbles into each other and - against any law of physics - kiss by accident.
3. the girl and the boy fell from a - at least! - 200mt vertical cliff while hugging each other, and survive almost unharmed.
4. (not so commom) underwater kiss.
Now, if you had watched tens of them, you'd be surprised by this drama :-)
Or, you can watch other dramas first. But come back to watch this one, it's definitely worth watching :-)

If it's boring, you just give up... This one i found it engaging, i finished it with no efforts (apart for some un-necessary, repeated scenes involving the 2nd Lead couple).
