I liked how you connect music with so many personal stories. Like Alex you helped to get me started making RUclips videos as well. I think it might have been on another channel but you talked about how you started. Just start talking into your phone or somesuch advice you gave." If I can do it....". Anyway nearly 70 videos later, made heaps of friends and just love it. Thank You Rob!.🤘
Really??? That's awesome. I had no idea. You know what? 200 videos later and I'm still talking into my phone. Does the trick. Anyway, your videos are great. Keep it up.
Another wonderful video. My father was also my greatest motivation for my interest and there isn't a day that goes by where a song comes on that reminds me of him. I definitely included him as an inspiration in my 5 albums video as well. Your record selection was great. I wasn't expecting to see The Darkness on here... I Believe In A Thing Called Love is an awesome track!
Oh, I’m so glad to hear that Kim and you are still together! Cute story about your son… 😊 Hey, The Darkness! One of my best friends since coming to Japan introduced me to The Darkness and it is such a great album! Very nice video! You had such great stories covering a range of emotions.
@@NorthernRevolutions Of all these videos I have seen, yours was the most touching. I love this thread / challenge because I’m getting to know people more personally.
Lovely entry to Alex contest Rob. I finally did mine last night, yeah, took a while but I had to be back in Norway for this one 😊 Love your reasoning, what I went for, speaking of your dad was very moving. My dad and I loved music, but not maybe the same, we shared more the love of movies, boxer dogs and dark bitter beers! Oh, and Skagen Denmark 🥰 We are probably quite alike in our parentale relations, allthough my relationship with my, mother, passed, is perhaps… Yeah, not a person a like to mention to be honest. Rodriguez does not remind me of children or a great love, never got neither, it reminds me of perhaps my best friend Donovan, from South Africa. And if you know the story of Rodriguez, you’ll understand why. Donovan was very adamant I should listen to said artist 😊 Good ol’ Darkness. Great memory as well. «…but I am grumpy!» 😄 All the best Rob! Great luck in the contest! Cheers from Morten in a warm Oslo 🇳🇴
Thanks Morten. Its amazing that so many of us seem to have share a love of music with our Dad’s. It still makes him feel like a part of my life every day. And Rodriguez, yes I know the story well. One of my most prized records is a South African first pressing of Cold Fact. You can tell your friend that I met Rodriguez. Very briefly after a show. He was quite old and frail and could barely see. But still put on a great show.
Thanks for all the support Rob and of course, i will always credit you with being the main factor in getting me started! If that Dirty Honey record never showed up... who knows where I'd be! Thanks so much for sharing these stories - it blows my mind how much we have in common (we can talk about our moms offline someday) and I know they are always the easiest, but it's cool that music can bring us together. I still think Permission to Land smacks. Thanks again brother!
Bloody hell Rob, that was a hard watch 😥 I was also very close to my Dad who passed when he was 52. He was also the reason for me now being so passionate about music, listening and playing. So I could really relate to your pain ❤ Some great memories in there. Mike
Jeez, Rob. You got me chocked up a bit talking about your dad. Just a week before your wedding. Man… I’ve gotta stop this comment. thinking about this is a bit too heavy for a Monday morning.
Nice stories Rob, the good and the bad. Always love to connect the albums with the person across the camera.
Thanks Sam

Thanks Jay. I enjoyed making it believe it or not.
Thanks for sharing those memories Rob, both good and painful. Some great choices, good luck in the contest my friend. Cheers.

Hey Rob - Trooper's Hot Shots was my 4th or 5th record, I think. I no longer own it...Excellent video with good and bad.

Love this contest man. And ya, we absolutely have a lot to chat about off line. Anytime man.
Rob, I feel like giving you a hug, but I’m not sure if it’s to show my sympathies or because I need a hug after hearing your first two stories.
While my Dad’s passing was terrible, I instead just think about him fondly every day. Happy memories. The mom thing, it is what it is.
