Hey Rob!! Hope all is well on your end. You're my fav video/channel and maybe I'm biased but I like it more because you feature more Canadian content. We Canadians have to stick together. Having said that...I'm a HUGE fan if boxsets ...especially with big books. I just wrote a review on the Beatles White Album from the Mono box set and actually opened up the book from obtaining it two months ago. I do have the White Album/Esher Demos on vinyl box but after seeing your CD box?? That makes me wanted to get that and enjoy on my Sony SACD player....stop making me spend more money!!...lol! I have the Let It Be and Revolver boxsets and the books are amazing so no need to go for CD. My other fav boxsets are Supertramp Crime Of The Century and Breakfast In America (Great book and DVD documentaries from W5....remember that show on CTV??)...a cool ELP compilation boxset, Two Rush Boxsets....but I seriously want the Police Syncronicity Boxset and the Alan Parsons Project's Pyramid Boxset. I think when these companies give devotion to one album and make a boxset out of them is an incredible celebratory moment. Talk soon Darrin
@@Darrin.Crawford thanks for the kind words man. I appreciate it a lot. That White Album on CD is awesome! And Im not a big cd fan. The book alone makes it worth it. And then all the sessions stuff. Its essential I think. Also grab the Sgt Pepper CD box set. Way more stuff on there than the 2 lp vinyl. And again, awesome book.
@@NorthernRevolutions Hey Rob...to be honest I got the single Sgt Pepper reissue on vinyl and wasn't impressed but then I heard (no pun) that the 2lp (box) was great and as much as I appreciate vinyl sometimes you have to go and favour the CD/Blu-Ray box...in this case because if it's your fav album you're getting better value for your dollar.. so, in Sgt Pepper's case I'm going for the CD/Blu-Ray box because you get so much more and?? ....with a book. I really am a fan of your videos, you, your live streams and your cool guests. Talk soon Big D
I agree that The Beatles 50th anniversary "Let It Be" box set is A+, I got it on LP and CD. But, it was missing the Apple rooftop performance, which was originally scheduled to be on it. I didn't even bother with "The White Album" 50th anniversary LP box set. The Oasis "Definitely Maybe" 30th LP and CD set should have at least added the B-Sides. For the CD set, that would've been easy to add them to CD 1, after the main album.
Great thoughts there Rob. Format jumping specially annoys me. Sometimes uniformity is a very definate plus. You mentioned the Beatles. Another format jumper favorite of mine are Mani Street Preachers. Frustrating! Jethro Tull really did it perfectly (for the CD crowd).

@@MortenAastad cant over state how important uniformity. To that end I hate the Beatles boxes were all different sizes. Arg!!!!
@@NorthernRevolutions Right? I’m not saying music is furniture, but BOY do those Jethro Tull boxes look great lined up in my bookshelf!
There is one major advantage that cd has over vinyl. The ability to skip tracks easier. For example, revolution 9 from the white album.
@@darrylmorris5348 very true
I do love a good anniversary edition, though sometimes the extra tracks are just so-so. But, they are irresistible.
@@EmbryonicRobot exactly. That’s how they hook you.
I cant stand Oasis but that box set looks pretty nice and cool idea all around. The alternate cover is a interesting idea that I dig.
@@Mabuhay_Ka there is a version that has a lenticular cover that blends both images. I have one of those in the way.
Cool video, Rob. Are you an Oasis completist even if the only copy of a release is available on CD?
@@musictalkwithjohn Im trying to be a completist on vinyl. Still need Familiar to Millions

It's shocking how so many artists just put out stuff for the sake of putting it out, especially for copywrite purposes.
