I installed a furitek lizard ultimate in my scx24. I love it because it’s so compact and clean and fits next to my Futaba micro receiver perfectly. I never run in water, but I appreciate you experimenting with furitek’s water proof claim.
@@CapeCrawlers i’ve only had it for about a week since it’s pretty new. So as far as longevity is concerned, I’m not really sure yet. I can say that I’ve run at least 12 fully charged batteries through it so far with no issues.
a comparison of this + the avatar receiver vs the Tegu with the integrated receiver would've been interesting, particularly in the total footprint category :)
That thing seems to be pretty darn good! It was nerve wracking watching it go into the water though. If I ever do go brushless I think this is the route I will probably go. Thanks Adam, another great video highlighting some awesome features!!! Take care!!!
I would add dialectric grease to all your connectors, and apply liquid electrical tape where the wires go into the connectors to help prevent water intrusion, if you intend to run it in wet conditions.
Awesome video yet again Adam bud. I love how informative every single video is no matter what you’re reviewing. I got myself the SMP motor when you first posted your video and i’m mega impressed with it. Mofo has done an amazing job with that motor, especially with how smooth it is. But i also have the Komodo and Micro Komodo from Furitek and think they are awesome motors. I also think Furitek’s customer service is outstanding. Sorry Bud i’m waffling on a bit. Without a doubt the best Channel on RUclips for the SCX24’s, and soon to be on 1/10 Crawlers 😜😜. Keep up the amazing work Adam and i love how far the channel has came up to be pure quality entertainment. 🤜🏻🤛🏻🤙🏻👍🏻❤
@@CapeCrawlers i’ve just had a look at the Micro Komodo. If you painted it the same colour you wouldnt be able to tell 😂. Honestly Adam i think you have made this channel what it is today with your dedication to put out the videos so we can put our feet up and enjoy. I’ve said this before but i dont think people realise how much hard work goes into filming, editing and uploading your videos. So i want to take this time to thank you for all your hard work and dedication so that we can be entertained. I’m already looking forward to the next video thats you post 👍🏻. You can really tell that you enjoy every minute of it and really think you deserve to work with Furitek, Little Guy Racing, Mofo RC etc and hope that it continues for many years to come. 🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
Great video! I love mine, a noticeable difference from my Tegu. So much better. That setup is almost exactly what I will be running, so thanks for showing it! Do you have any overdrive?
I may have missed it, or perhaps you did it off the video, but friendly reminder to revisit the voltage cutoff. I’m wondering if you don’t set it, if your lipo will drop to a dangerous voltage.
I know this doesn't really relate to this video (great vid btw) but I have recently gotten a deadbolt but don't know which tires to get. Was wondering are injora tires as good as hyraxs and rc4wd tires. What do you recommend?
Injora has really stepped up their tire game in the last few months. I would certainly recommend their newer tires. RC4WD still has the best compounds I feel, and the hyrax just hooks up so good. But you arent going to regret buying the newer Injora tires. Just make sure you get recent models with the soft compounds.
Looks to be a very well made piece of equipment. In the RC crawler world, "waterproof" means you could take the rig into a "river" crossing, stream, mudhole, etc which means with everything plugged in and operating. When is that test? 🙂
Where can I find a Lizard Ultimate these days? The link you have on this video doesn't go to anything anymore, and I cannot find it anywhere on the furitek website.
Hello what do u recommend for settings on ypur furitek app or system. Im still having alot of cogging going on amd i have the crawler gears in my transmission?????
I keep the throttle curve linear and run ~20% slow speed, 5 punch, FOC at 30. If you still get cogging issues, make sure your firmware is up to date. You can also tweak your throttle curve if need be
I think this waterproof test isn’t good. You need to submerge it while using it. You can dunk any electronic device in water, and as long as it wasn’t powered up it’ll probably work fine after it’s dried out.
I agree this wasn't a good way to water test. It should have been powered up. If they say it's good then they can replace anything that would get messed up.
@@marcusmoore2852 Furitek is only responsible for their stuff. One can't hold them accountable if any of the other parts of his rig get fried. He's justifiably nervous! 😁👍 I'm sure he'd be happy to deep six a rig if anyone wants to step forward and send him theirs! LOL! Also, the term "Waterproof" in the context of a manufactured product has lots of various meanings, not to mention various I.P. ratings regarding depth/elevation and time at that depth height. So his test could indeed be inline with what Furitek is meaning by "waterproof". 👍

Anecdotally I can tell you that the lizard ultimate and micro rx is a smaller footprint. And it looks almost as nice!
Looks like a good little esc, love the way snaggle tooth performs . Awesome 👍 video brother!!
Thanks! It is a solid product. I love that Furitek is continuing to evolve the product line even though they've pretty much got the market cornered.
Wow ! Great video, you hit all the bases on this one. Info. Drama, action video and a happy ending. BAM ! Lol, keep em coming.

Thanks! I was sweating bullets preparing for that submersion test 😅
Great video can’t believe it still worked sadly had to wait a day to watch it due to RUclips outages
Thanks! I thought for sure it wouldnt survive the water. Very impressed!

Oh boy I get anxiety thinking about that 🤣
Stuff like that, makes me really leary about putting it in water just to prove it's "water proof", imo. Just makes me really nervous. 😬
Oh man, I was so nervous! I thought for sure I was going to fry it!

Your course is aging well too.
The 8:40 toilet flush cut 😂
LOL one of the unfortunate parts of filming in my basement
i have the scx C10 i bought the Mini Komodo with stellar trans if i buy the Lizard Ultimate, what Wire or how do i hook the Ultimate to the V1 ESC?
You want to plug the lizard ultimate into channel 2 of the V1 esc. You’ll see which wire to use. It’s a really simple install.
If I’m using the ultimate with a TQi RX that doesn’t want more than 6v then I have to use another BEC for the servo or direct power the servo correct?
Yes thats right

What the frig. The power button on yours is red and mine is black. I wonder what the inconsistency means.
That’s interesting. When did you get yours?
