Have you had any time to look into a split row planter to take care of planting beans. I have watched your channel for quite some time. Your 30" beans always seem to have a great stand and really decent yields. Just curious if you were thinking of adding another planter
Oh I don't know. I will probably just stay 30 inch rows and go to a 16 row at some point. I've seen some 1770 24 row box planters sell for dirt cheap so I wouldn't rule one of those out. I think a decked out with precision 16 row would be my first choice. I'd really like to have delta force
Glad you got your big tractor back! That can be headaches when there down. That 4960 sure wqs handling that field cultivator fine but it all depends on depth, I like to run 3.5-4 inches deep myself.
Thee is something different about planting corn then beans. It is the same for me when harvesting corn. It is just enjoyable. Have a great day and be safe.
You got all 3 rigs with their own autosteer now or you move it? I just bought a 2630 on the auction with a bubbled up screen for cheap and the dealer got me an ATU coming this week sometime. Hopefully I get it put in so I can use it this spring. 😆
Yup my addiction to greenstar has taken over the farm lol. Some of that stuff has gotten cheap the last 6 months or so. I think they are selling new systems at cost and charging subscriptions or something now
We just sidedress v7 corn here. Had a first warm week after planting, then rain at 12 days later. Haven't checked prices, don't want to, the crop looks the most uniform in years. Only problem we had was planting through henbit then trying to get it killed later. Good luck up there.
Thanks. It's definitely been a stressful ordeal since it took so long. I will feel better when I get the bill and know exactly where I'm at with it. Gonna cost a years salary I'm afraid
It is back. It ended up sitting for a week before they shipped it to another location. The good part was since it was 100 miles away, they hauled it right to me when they got done with it
Totally enjoyed watching the video AJ ! 4960 seemed to do ok with field cultivator. Hope articulate will be fixed right this time! Got a question? Why on the screen it’s many colors on the auto steer one ?
On the planter monitor green is good, yellow is caution and red is bad. I'm guessing your looking at the mapping one that's showing the 3 downpressure sensors. Red is too much, yellow is ok, green is good and blue means not enough. Usually when I fill with seed there is too much downforce, but I have no real way to take weight off. Someday I plan to get the hydraulic downforce system so it can adjust on the go how much weight there is on each row unit
I am assuming the dealer is standing behind the repair on the tractor since you seemed like you was in a pretty good mood throughout the video. LOL Had a inch of rain last night so that has put a damper on any field work around here for a few days. It's gonna be down in the 30's the next few mornings so drying will be a slow go.
Nothing wrong without that but I'm like a spoiled brat now lol. I took alot of pride in straight rows by hand but im fine blaming the machine for the crooked ones now 🤣
I always thought all they cared about was how it was around chicago. It was perfect conditions right before it rained lol and now its cold and wet. im sure it'll be the same way the next time it dries up. Forecast is kinda wet
Man i love corn planting also. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching greg 👍

@iafarmer we have had a great stand and really good luck with our 20 inch rows of beans.

Yeah I didn't have it real deep but i was suprised how well it pulled it. Hopefully I'm done with major tractor repairs for awhile
@@iafarmer Should have bought the other green and got a Steiger lol and you'd have been done with it.
Hi Kole !
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 Hey Gary!
Where are you located! Beautiful rig!
Northern iowa. Thanks, older equipment but it works for me
@@iafarmer Are you close to Osage?
@@boomer1049 I'm north of cylinder (west of algona)
I feel your pain.
I get everything washed up and then go drive in mud!
It's like larry the cable guy said " it's like wiping before you poop" lol
@@iafarmer ,that’s hilarious!

Yup I just hate filling the planter so often in beans lol and who doesn't like lots of bushels

@@iafarmer Like fleasing a car🤣. That's what the WEF wants, the big shots own everything and we pay for the right to exist and use their resources 🤣
@mrbill4187 yup you are exactly right
That’s a nice 4960.
Thanks, it is a 12,000 hour tractor but it's in pretty good shape yet

Wow thats crazy all the fields are still bare here. Hope you can get a good crop down there 👍
Like the planter tractor too.
Thanks, 1985 4650
Glad you got the tractor back.Hope you have no more issues with it now.

@@iafarmer I sure hope not.
Glad someone is going. Just keeps raining here
We all are aware of your love hate relationship with mother nature. She pretty much hates your guts.......
Weve had over 2 inches this week. Lots of chances in the forecast too
i was surprised how well you 4955 handle that cultivator what size is yours?
It's actually a 4960. Same power, but......................
It's a 36 foot 980. I was pretty impressed I ran out of traction more than power
You do a nice job AJ. You get your 9200 back or was that old footage?

Wow farming’s come along way! Thanks for answering my question!
@gleanerk It's fun to be able to see whats going on. That monitor was probably the best investment I ever made
I like how you told him sit here and watch that’s exactly how I learned too
Yup that's the best way. On the job training is what I was told

I haven't gotten the bill yet lol. We got 2 inches so far this week and more chances monday and Thursday so we might be out awhile yet
Just remember if it was easy everybody would do it we still do it without auto steer!!! 🤣🤣
Nothing wrong without that but I'm like a spoiled brat now lol. I took alot of pride in straight rows by hand but im fine blaming the machine for the crooked ones now 🤣
So you are the reason why the USDA says planting is going perfect right now. Everything is on a normal pace. 🤦♂️🤣
Well, you do realize the traders only pay attention to Iowa for corn progress since Iowa is the corn king !!!

I thought you were supposed to vote early and vote often.
Yeah I suppose that too. Can we vote for a different president yet? Lol
i mean 4960
