      I've seen plenty of young Ukrainian girls (and also boys, let's not be sexist) who have a lot of pimples, a too thin and bony face or a croocked nose, veiny skins...
      Also if you look well he didn't show, or barely, any woman above 30 or 32... He didn't show you 40 and so on....which isn't even old. So yeah, by showing teens and young adults that'sthe sort of video you get. Young Europeans in general tend to take care of themselves.

    My wife and I did that test - We are both brazilians, her family is from a small town located in the north eastern part of the country and my family is from a small town in Rio de Janeiro. For me, it was exactly what I expected. I am 93% european (Iberic and Italian) and 7% african (Nigeria and Sierra Leone). As for her... She is: Iberic, Central American, North African, Nigerian, Finnish, Baltic, Balkanic, Greek, Somali,Amazonian, Kenyan and Azkenazite Jew. She is pretty much everything. I find it extremely bizarre that all these ethnicities ended up in a small city in the poorest region of Brazil. It seems she had an european grandfather (likely german; surname: Klement), but no one knew for sure... I would really like to make the test again.

    I am not surprised that many Ukrainians have origins from the Balkans and to be even more precise from Serbia. In the 17th and 18th century, there was a great Serbian migration to Ukraine, that's why we find Serbian toponyms in Ukraine. tHere was also two big territories there called Novoserbia and Slaveno-serbia

    • @zarzavattzarzavatt9309

      It's interesting that here in Lithuania a lot of people as well have some Balkan Slavic DNA. About 3/5 people who I know have done the test got 10-20% Balkan.
      I also noticed that people in Balkans often got 5-20% Baltic DNA. So it all probably comes from our common Balto-Slavic origin.

    Notice how no one ever says "Eastern European men look good?" It's because in Eastern Europe due to how their society is structured "traditional" values are still enforced where men are seen as success objects, and women are seen as beauty objects thereby the women there put alot more effort into looking presentable.
    In the West we do it differently. I think alot of the women in the West have the potential to look beautiful as well, but due to how our society is structured they simply have no need to try to look beautiful. Likewise, many men in the west also are becoming somewhat "metro-sexual" emphasizing alot on their looks and so forth.

Looks like in Ukraine the ground water has some good vibrations (as it flows through some good crystals under the ground) which gives good beauty to women. As you know humans are 70% water and hence the water we drink makes a huge difference. Generally water from mountains like Alps or Himalayas before it gets contaminated is very good for health and beauty.

    These results are highly subjective given that all of the slavs to the west as well as the rest of the western countries should be related to the original Indo-European and not the other way around. Even more accurate way to look at someone's DNA, would be to show the measure of divergence from the initial Indo-European vs divergence from their local gene pool (country).
    I suspect that Ukrainian gene pool should have a similar distribution of DNA overlap relative to western countries with divergence increasing as one moves further west. This ought to be true since modern Ukrainians and western countries should roughly correspond to the original Indo-Europeans that stayed and the ones that kept going west.

This part of Rus become Lithuanian because Lithuanians saved you and freed from Tatar rule and you blessed them for that. Then there was The Union and nobody ruled under. If somebody ruled under it was division not on nationality but on status of class . I am Ukrainian, I love Poland, Polish people, Polish language, and Polish cuisine.
      As for the history:
      You forgot to mention Potoccy :) They were not Ruthenians, but based in Ukraine.
      Lithuanian period is generally positively viewed by Ukrainian historians: Lithuanians adopted our language as the official one, never tried to introduce Church Union or something (Orthodox folks had nothing to complain about).
      As for the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth:
      Ukrainian historiography: we were oppressed by Polish szlachta, Catholic church etc.; Polish historiography: things were not bad in the first Rzeczpospolita, Ukrainians (Ruthenians) were enjoying life there. I think the truth is somewhere in between otherwise why would Ukrainian peasants and kozaks supported Khemylnyts'ky uprising.
      My honest view: all problems of the first Rzeczpospolita began with Counter-Reformation. If the sizable Polish Lithuanian Protestant minority had not ceased to exist but instead had kept growing Poland would have stayed one of the European powers and would never been partitioned.
      When I compare countries by social and economic development level I can clearly see that Protestant countries (Protestant in the past, under Protestant influence etc.) are usually doing better than others.
      One of the recent examples is South Korea where Protestants amount to 20% of the whole population and 62% of the political and business elite.
      P.S.: I am glad that Western Ukraine was part of 2nd RP and not part of the USSR in the interwar period, Stalinist USSR government was killing Ukrainians en masse ( Holodomor, but not only Ukrainians, also Russians, Kazakhs and many other ethnic groups as well).

    It's got nothing to do with the DNA. Ukrainian women might seem more attractive because they look after themselves a lot, always make-up and dressing, always trying to be in shape etc. Also these girls in the vid are all young, so it's obvious they gonna look nicer and fresher. I think (especially nowadays) you can find beautiful women everywhere in the world. UKR women have been way too glorified and overrated all those years and I can't really see a good reason behind it.

    The Baltic/Finish should NOT be a surprise. In 1709 Swedish king Charles XII marched an army of Swedes and Finns all over Ukraine. Many Ukranian men joined the Swedes against Russia. Charles' army was annihilated at Poltava. Many Swedes fleeing the Russians would have found many Ukranian homes without a man as many of them were also killed. This happened a lot b/c there is no way for these men to get back home in an age without trains or restaurants. Cavalry would have made the roads unsafe for years!

    I find it funny that so many people think they're ethnically pure, but maybe that's because as an American one expects a lot of mixing. But come on, the Baltics and Balkans are only a few hundred km from Ukraine. People get around! Also, are the Baltics looked down on by Ukranians, or am I misreading their reactions?

    Hi, Conor! Thanks for your videos and the link, it really works for free delivery, just ordered second kit for my mom.
    I was born and raised in Moscow and expected some Polish and Georgian roots to be shown, besides Russian. But the result impressed a lot:)
    It says I'm Baltic 53,7%, Balkan 20,6%, Eastern Europe 8,7%. But the most surprising was to find out 15,6 %Irish😉 and 1,4% Eskimo🤦🏼‍♀️😂.
    What do you think, how could Irish DNA get to Baltic area? 15% is quite a lot. I'm stucked into history channels here on RUclips since DNA results arrived😅
    About Eskimo, it feels just like funny extra, as I'm a blond with blue eyes hehe.

    Ukrainians women are so pretty due to many reasons. First, there is good quality food in Ukraine. Ukrainian food is about a huge variety of different types of porridges, a lot of green vegetables and etc. Second, Ukrainians are hard workers, so Ukrainian women work hard, study hard even in childhood, and a lot of them are slim or even skinny and... educated. Third, the mentality of Ukrainians is about hospitality and being open and outgoing, but at the same time being sexually discreet or restrained, which gives them some atmosphere of innocence. A good sense of humor is a big part of their character. And fourth, it is the weather, mild climate preserves their skin. All these reasons and DNA imprint particular pleasant traits on their faces and bodies.

    The Balkan influences are not so shocking, most of the people of the Balkan region are Slavic. The Finnish and Baltic influences is also easy to explain, since these regions were part of Russia since the Imperial times.

    • @mischa676
      @mischa676 5 лет назад +1

      balkan means native balkan- thracian illirians antiquity balkan populations mix with pre-indoeuropean populations(native europeans with Y chromosome I2 who is found in 35-75% of balkan male populations -in some country more in some less) not slavic.For slavic is East Europe.Balkan people speak slavic languages and have a slavic culture most of them but genetically are not slavic.In the balkan populations the slavic dna is between 0-20% like all the genetic tests not only the commercial ones shows.

    • @athornton0109
      @athornton0109 5 лет назад

      mischa676 so Serbs, Croats, Bulgarians and Slovenians don’t count and Balkan people even thought that is the majority of the people who live there?

    • @athornton0109
      @athornton0109 5 лет назад +2

      Artoria Pendragon I said the majority of people who live in the region of the Balkans are of Slavic origin (Serb, Croat, etc...) Slavic doesn’t just mean Russian and Ukrainian... Slavic ethnicity is one the largest groups of people in Europe.

    • @athornton0109
      @athornton0109 5 лет назад +1

      Artoria Pendragon by genetics and heritage. There is of course one race, then separate groups of our race; within these group, there are further divisions, I.E. Slavic people (Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Chezk and so on...) Nordic people (German, Scandinavian, Etc...) these are an example of the FAMILY of European peoples (Caucasian). So, in saying it was not surprising Ukrainian’s results showed Balkan influences... it is simply all Slavic people share a common DNA because they are of the same family. Just as all Slavic and Nordic people, as they are part of a larger group (Caucasian)

    • @athornton0109
      @athornton0109 5 лет назад

      Artoria Pendragon These tests are rather generic in their results, it would be too expensive to be very detailed. But, generally Eastern European is Haplogroup R1a, Western European is Haplogroup R1b. If you have had a DNA test done then there are some websites that can take the raw data and break it down further for you... unfortunately I can not recall the name of one I used previously. It’s a rather complex subject but there are channels on RUclips dedicated to this subject if you are interested.
