Listening to Richard talk about Dale brings back a lot of great memories about why this almost 65 year old man loved following and being a Dale fan. Brings a tear to my eyes hearing the stories. Thanks Jr for doing this and all the other old Nascar guys back. Love hearing all the stories. Keep up the good work.
Well you obviously didn't see the episode where he got heated at people calling it the Busch series. No doubt because this channel was sponsored by Xfinity but with Xfinity now dropping out after 2025 , it's now ok.
@@Thumper68exactly and the rules are worse then driving typically down the highway since 2014 nascar is down by over 50 % even most networks will not pick it up
I'm 55, you captured my thoughts exactly. Great interview, love the insight. When my dad was dying in the hospital he actually said to me "Bryan, I'm on my last lap."
You knew it was true cause you were like who the hell is Bryan?😂 In reality I just enjoyed your comment and glad you have a good memory of your old man.
I loved the old days of speedweeks. When the teams showed up with the primed cars and just the numbers to test in groups and then seeing the cars in full PAINT schemes and special schemes for Daytona. The Bud shootout/ Clash, qualifying, the twins and then the 500. It was a momentous opening and the anticipation of the new season. it was exhilarating.
@therealfazethree860 I always looked forward to and enjoyed speedweeks at Daytona as well. The original Busch Clash races, all the different practice and test sessions, I always kept up with all of it and really enjoyed it. Whenever it got to when Thursday finally got here, and it was the day for the twin 125s, I loved it. I definitely didn't get as much done at work on that Thursday, than I should have, most times. It was that important to me though. Every little event that clocked in, got done, and led up to in increments to the Daytona 500, was always so exhilarating to me. On the years where I would attend the 500 in person, I would generally drive down from North Carolina on Tuesday, and we have friends and family in several places near the Daytona area that we would always visit with, and that was so enjoyable, I miss that as well. Sitting in the restaurant on the end of the pier at Cocoa Beach, watching the Xfinity race on Saturday, that was always great. Ah, the great memories. One big issue we have these days, Junior and Richard allude to this, is the costs involved. The TV stuff is so big, and TV unfortunately dictates a lot of what goes on. These cars and teams, and tracks, have all gotten so extremely expensive to operate, it's harder for everyone to make money and it costs so much, every time you roll out and set up and run. It was very interesting to hear Junior's and Richard's thoughts about some of this stuff, I'm only a little over halfway through their conversation, and it's a good one as always. Hard to tell what the future holds, but to NASCAR's credit, they at least are making some good decisions here and there, Bowman Gray Stadium, North Wilkesboro, Rockingham, are all places that helped build them, and unfortunately, they kinda forgot about these type people and places for a long time,, and left them all behind. It's good that they are beginning to come back around and organize some events at some of these type places. I'm looking forward to this season🏁🏆😎
I really enjoyed the fluid conversation. Your both icons, as a fan it was awesome to learn more about Richard and Dale #3. Forever in our thoughts and still a legend. You will make a fantastic owner and honestly it's long over due. You had to buy what you had already earned and the universe made it right. I hope your next championship comes fast. God bless yall.

All those guys who were part of the greatest era of their respective sports, and/or, roles. RC looks great, and I LOVED his "age" question, because as I get chronologically older, I wonder why I feel so, SO, much younger in my head. Though people always guess I'm about 15 years younger than I am. Even the majority of my friends are 8-15 years younger than me. Anyway, that was such a great question of Richard, and it explains, it answers, the question Dale Jr asked him about how he has the drive he has. THAT is why he's so sharp at 79. As they say, "get busy living, or get a busy dying.". Great show DJ!

And I don't know one person in this world that does not appreciate you and really enjoy you talking and just you being there. You're a hell of an ambassador for nascar. Thank you very much. And I speak for thousands of people. God bless junior. You're a hell of a guy. Your dad did very well.
Speed weeks was something I really enjoyed.
This is awesome!!! Love Jr and RC!!!
Can jr do some behind the scenes content next week at the track would be huge for the fans
I’m sure every second of Dale & Kelley’s first Cup car ownership will be highly covered and recorded for posterity…
That's a great idea
What a great question. How old would you be. I turn 54 this year and I understand what you are saying. My family, on the male side, don't live much past 65. I think every day can be my last. Puts a lot into perspective. What a great interview. I want to hear the conversation later on. I watch you all the time, and watched you grow into what you do today. You have a great story as well.
Really enjoy listening to RC. Talk about a hard road to get to where he is now. Thx
Dale made him!
I love that saying about the age if you listen to the last song, Toby Keith wrote, don’t let the old Man in that lyric is in his song thank you for Having RC on
My thought 💯
Great Way to start the year Dale
This was an awesome interview!
Dale Sr. Was the entire reason why i loved nascar.. drive the way i do and get all choked up hearing stories about dale sr and wish he was still here today...saying that loved this episode jr. Good luck with the upcoming Daytona 500 teaming with chris Stapleton im watching speed week just for that reason
i haven't watched a full "cup" race since 2003 or earlier... but i watched the qual runs, and the full run of the cookout clash!
