Pressure and flow are directly related. Just an idea, the pipes from the header flange to the exhaust collector, you should ask Rich if he can make them equal length. The right side seems almost twice as long since it goes around the trans. I bet it would help power and the sound would be amazing.
Do you know what makes the iconic Subaru rumble that we all love? It's the unequal length exhaust headers. If it made some of that I'd say it's a fair trade-off for a little power loss.
@@farhanrahmatullah1615 However, equal length headers on a V12 Merc or Honda CBX inline 6 make them sound outstanding, much better than you Beetle sounding Subaru engines.

You need to try and get the LH and RH branches equal length , run a Cat in each branch and run the two pipes separate as far back down the car as you can, merge just before the silencer. Or put in a decent X-pipe just after the cats and run twin pipes all the way to the tips. That merge at the gear box with unequal lengths from the manifolds is robbing a lot of mid-range.
Love hearing Bruno speak about his craft. I'm pretty sure most of the gains with the intake were from taking the air filters off though... thats why it wasn't so much of a gain once they were refitted and it was packaged into the engine bay properly
Enjoyed seeing Phil again. It's a cool little build you've done here on this car. Lot of time and love spent on it. I like that it's one you've kept.. and just improved.
Not sure on have the air intakes/filters sucking the hot air from the radiator. May increase power on the dyno but on track with the bonnet closed the air intake temps will be very high and decrease power and torque.
Definitely get that centre section of the exhaust done Alex. That engine should be easily making 300NM something is restricting it for sure and if Bruno reckons it's the exahust I'd get that sorted first.
