This song was published in the sixth podcast, when we didn't even know who Stonebank was. Remember that Eagle Eyes wasn't even put up on the channel when Holding Onto Sound was revealed. So the question marks were there to signify that either this was a new artist or a returning one.

I'm disappointed in the community. Let's say two people made the same exact pancake. Same ingredients, same cook time, same everything, but one was made by a 5-Star chef and the other was made by a homeless man. They are both the same exact thing, but since the chef is a 5-star chef, you will think it is much better than the homeless mans. My point is if this song was made by Ephixia, would you all love it? OMG! I was right it was Stonebank. I had known all along. Stonebank was my first guess because his Hero remix sounded similar to this song. I was saddened that Ephixa had not returned yet, but ONE hell of a song this is. If Stonebank continues to produce like this, he might as well become the next Ephixa, or maybe just the next Rogue or something. Stonebank keeps going at it and I think he makes music everyday. The only thing I don't like about Stonebank is that he is spamming all the M-Cat albums. He already has Moving On. But anyways, this was still a great song with a great rapper. Cmon' guys, just becuz it wasn't Ephixa doesn't mean you need to complain. Stonebank is still a work in progress, but so far he sounds promising. News Flash: Ephixa left Monstercat a LONG time ago. I was perfectly fine with this release, it has great drops and for once, I think this song actually benefits from the vocals. Does it really matter who the artist is? I bet if this was made by Ephixa, GQ, Arion, or Obsidia, you all will be ALL over this. I believe the only "original" Monstercat artist still around (correct me if I'm wrong) is Stephen Walking.

Oh god. I knew that this dark day would come eventually. The comment gods are in a huge war over probably the stupidest thing i've ever seen here on Monstercat. I know i can't end any of this, but i do know i can make a point and maybe put some sense in peoples mind. Let the fighting stop. It must stop NOW. My point: When podcast 006 came out, people really enjoyed the mystery track. I remember. But to our dismay, it was never released. Just about on every song, people were asking "Where is the track from 006?". Then came podcast 015. The song was previewed AGAIN. Then was confirmed when it was named the next release after "Shake It Off". That's the info for people unaware of the history of this situation. Anyways, i'm angry. VERY angry. I adore the Monstercat community, and i am a proud member of the wonderful family. But today i am downright ANGRY. The way the family reacted at this beautiful song, it disgusts me. I really don't know where people started to think Ephixa was returning this summer, but it's a bunch of bullcrap. The fact that people thought this was Ephixa is just insane. He is not the DJ to produce Glitch Hop, and this is NOT his style. Ephixa never had vocals in any of his songs, and it's not ever been his kind of thing. The way people are judging the song for THE ARTIST not the melody itself, it makes me sad, and angry at the same time. In other words i am "Disapointed". "I see the grey skies coming all around". Those grey skies, are YOU! THE HATERS. But what he is saying is he sees the grey skies and knows they are there, and he is "holding on to sound". I went through a large portion of my life not knowing who they and their collection of artists were, but now that I do, I listen to them for almost every thing I do. I was listening to Tristam before I asked this girl that I liked out. I listen to my monstercat playlist when I Sprint to work everyday, I've made montages with monstercat music, and now I'm studying for my SAT with monstercat blazing in the background. The music is so epic and empowering, Monstercat, never stop producing great music

I remember listening to the Podcast it was first ever on. I fell completely in love with this ID. I waited and waited, and I remember when it came out I was blown away I was like “Stonebank? Really?” I was beyond surprised. I wouldn’t say disappointed was the word, but I was shocked because why would they hold an ID this long? Kinda curious tbh

Stonebank is quickly becoming one of my favorite producers on Monstercat, but his first three releases I felt like he was still searching for his sound but then realized being diverse is his sound. Eagle Eyes was very Seven Lions like big and epic, the Hero's remix was reminiscent of Favright and then came out Moving On which was an amazing release and was very melody heavy and the drop reminded me of Rogue's exogeneises and rogue's other 2012/2013 releases. Then he mastered Moombahton! Point being Stonebank wildly talented and very diverse in his releases KEEP IT UP!!!

stonebank has blown my mind yet again. I could easily see this song put in the playlist of an SSX game or Need for Speed, if the game were to have some sort of spice to what either series used to be. it isn't super fast, but the beats and drops are intense. I could easily see an incredible remix made by Stephen walking being done if it isn't already. I cannot wait to see the lineup for the next comp. album. You can't make a magical special song that everyone loves, even for an anniversary, because everyone has their own personal taste in music. There are people, like me, who friken luv this song. OMG! I was right it was Stonebank. I had known all along. Stonebank was my first guess because his Hero remix sounded similar to this song. I was saddened that Ephixa had not returned yet, but ONE hell of a song this is. If Stonebank continues to produce like this, he might as well become the next Ephixa, or maybe just the next Rogue or something. Stonebank keeps going at it and I think he makes music everyday. The only thing I don't like about Stonebank is that he is spamming all the M-Cat albums. He already has Moving On. But anyways, this was still a great song with a great rapper.
Cmon' guys, just becuz it wasn't Ephixa doesn't mean you need to complain. Stonebank is still a work in progress, but so far he sounds promising. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't GQ or Arion or Ephixa etc. But this is still a great song.

News Flash: Ephixa left Monstercat a LONG time ago. I was perfectly fine with this release, it has great drops and for once, I think this song actually benefits from the vocals. Does it really matter who the artist is? I bet if this was made by Ephixa, GQ, Arion, or Obsidia, you all will be ALL over this. I believe the only "original" Monstercat artist still around (correct me if I'm wrong) is Stephen Walking.
Unless I'm mistaken, Varien and Arion are the same. Although, The other replies won't load for me... So I'm sure someone else has already said.

My point:
When podcast 006 came out, people really enjoyed the mystery track. I remember. But to our dismay, it was never released. Just about on every song, people were asking "Where is the track from 006?".
Then came podcast 015. The song was previewed AGAIN. Then was confirmed when it was named the next release after "Shake It Off". That's the info for people unaware of the history of this situation.
Anyways, i'm angry. VERY angry.
I adore the Monstercat community, and i am a proud member of the wonderful family. But today i am downright ANGRY. The way the family reacted at this beautiful song, it disgusts me.
I really don't know where people started to think Ephixa was returning this summer, but it's a bunch of bullcrap. The fact that people thought this was Ephixa is just insane. He is not the DJ to produce Glitch Hop, and this is NOT his style. Ephixa never had vocals in any of his songs, and it's not ever been his kind of thing.
The way people are judging the song for THE ARTIST not the melody itself, it makes me sad, and angry at the same time. In other words i am "Disapointed". Stonebank didn't say anything about this yet, but i'm sure he is heart broken. And i am too.
You can't say Stonebank's song was bad just because his name is on it. He created it, HE created the masterpiece that you people were raving about on the Podcasts. I would expect that you appreciated and were impressed, but now i see the truth. That nasty truth.
People hyped up Ephixas name and just slapped it on the song, and because it's Ephixa, its amazing and will be great. But then, we are all caught off guard with seeing "Stonebank" up there on the title people were angry, and just bashed the song cause it didn't have the childish name "Ephixa" (whatever "Ephixa" is supposed to mean) slapped up there.
Today, Mike Darlington, the CEO OF MONSTERCAT, said he was DISAPOINTED IN THE FAMILY! For god sakes people, find some sense!!! THE CEO IS DISAPOINTED AT YOU!

"I'm holding on to sound", It shows that Stonebank wants to be productive and "hold onto sound" and keep going at it. He wants to never give up, and be consistant and keep making music.
"Don't hold me back now": This should be obvious. He says not to get in his way, and not to keep him from making music. Ever wondered why he just emerged in March and already has 4 songs? It's because he wont let anyone "hold him back". And it sounds like that's what you guys are trying to do, hold him back.
"I see the grey skies coming all around". Those grey skies, are YOU! THE HATERS. But what he is saying is he sees the grey skies and knows they are there, and he is "holding on to sound". He wont let you haters get to him.
I could say WAYYYYYY more about this, but i hope i shed some light here on this subject and helped you guys understand.
Please talk with some sense, and stop raging in the comments. Everybody here sounds like little children crying because their mother wont buy them an ice cream.

I went through a large portion of my life not knowing who they and their collection of artists were, but now that I do, I listen to them for almost every thing I do. I was listening to Tristam before I asked this girl that I liked out. I listen to my monstercat playlist when I Sprint to work everyday, I've made montages with monstercat music, and now I'm studying for my SAT with monstercat blazing in the background. The music is so epic and empowering, Monstercat, never stop producing great music

The problem (in my opinion) is people's unwillingness to accept that these old artists aren't coming back. People are holding onto the hope (see what I did there) that these artists eg Ephixa, Arion, etc will one day return to monstercat. I remember listening to the Podcast it was first ever on. I fell completely in love with this ID. I waited and waited, and I remember when it came out I was blown away I was like “Stonebank? Really?” I was beyond surprised. I wouldn’t say disappointed was the word, but I was shocked because why would they hold an ID this long? Kinda curious tbh
Also, if I remember correctly, the Podcast that first teased this song came out BEFORE Stonebank made his debut on Monstercat. So I wonder if he sent this song first and Monstercat was like “dude this is too good, make another one and we’ll just tease this lol”
God I remember the drama when this dropped I was in a Google+ community (shoutout Monstercat Buddies) and people absolutely lost their minds for like 2 weeks over this shit
Stonebank is quickly becoming one of my favorite producers on Monstercat, but his first three releases I felt like he was still searching for his sound but then realized being diverse is his sound. Eagle Eyes was very Seven Lions like big and epic, the Hero's remix was reminiscent of Favright and then came out Moving On which was an amazing release and was very melody heavy and the drop reminded me of Rogue's exogeneises and rogue's other 2012/2013 releases. Then he mastered Moombahton!
Point being Stonebank wildly talented and very diverse in his releases KEEP IT UP!!!
Now Stonebank is regarded as possibly one of the best Monstercat artists...

stonebank has blown my mind yet again. I could easily see this song put in the playlist of an SSX game or Need for Speed, if the game were to have some sort of spice to what either series used to be. it isn't super fast, but the beats and drops are intense. I could easily see an incredible remix made by Stephen walking being done if it isn't already. I cannot wait to see the lineup for the next comp. album. Normally I try to wait to buy it instead of doubling up on songs, but do to the rapid addiction to the amazing new sounds I end up doing it anyways! You can't make a magical special song that everyone loves, even for an anniversary, because everyone has their own personal taste in music. There are people, like me, who friken luv this song. Then there are the bigots and butthurt kids who bitch that it wasn't GQ or Ephixa. And then are the people who just dislike the song, and that is understandable. Music is the most objectionable form of media. It's just depressing that Stonebank got slammed so hard, right out of the gate for not being called Ephixa. I'll bet if it was Ephixa that made the song the comments would be pretty different.
