it's sad to see the loss of views in their new songs because of the loss of popularity in electronic music. at least they're old songs you can still see how they have millions of views. I do hope electronic music regains popularity especially Monstercat cuz they have some serious bangers

I can definitely agree that EDM is still amazing so long as you know how to appreciate it. But there is a reason this oldschool stuff is more popular than the new style.
Do you know what it is? It's that they are hitting a nostalgia that isn't even supposed to be there. That's the only way I know how to accurately explain it. I mean, look at adventure time by Rogue for instance. That song is repetitive af but it is my absolute favorite song by Rogue till this day. With one and exogenesis hitting very close second and thirds respectively. But they hit me in my nostalgia without even trying to nor supposedly being able to. I just don't get that with Gesaffelstein or any new EDM track. Sure there are hidden gems like that out there but this was a sort of golden age for that. Your Favright, PIXL, Astronaut, Tristam, Stephen Walking. Ever listened to Metropolis by SW? It wasn't even on spotify 2 years ago. But I just checked and it seems they finally put it on there ^^
Anyway, that's my 2 cents delivered. I hope it gives some insight as to how this stuff got so popular. There is more to it of course but this, to me at least, is the defining factor looking back.

The artist tried to convey something with sound that can no longer be heard. Bass doesn't exist, the details are lost, etc.
You likely listened to this while you had "actual sound equipment" (eg. 00s 30$ speakers).
Back then earphones were clearly worse. Now they are worse but just in select parts and people generally tend to ignore that because things sound right enough...
Try listening side by side using good speakers and phone speakers/earphones.
This is also the reason music isn't as popular as songs, songs use the voice and meaning of words to convey the artists vision. Those are not going to get lost.

Finally an album I can get behind fully, this album has basically been a massive shift from what we have seen for just around 5 albums (018 being the last) where the albums were heavily consistent of future bass and house. It feels like this album will be lots more electro and in my opinion that was my favorite time of monstercat music! :D
