This may seem weird, but I read my five year old Mr. Happy frequently and there is a part of the book where he goes round and round and down and down. I couldn't help myself and once sang the chorus 'round round we go, round round we go' (beautiful melody!) and now my son makes me sing it everytime. He loves it! Stands up to the test of time.
Oh my God... unbelievable!!! What a thrill for me!! You were my EARLY TEENAGE CRUSH and FAVORITE VOCALIST... (one of my top favorite vocalists still,to this day!)! Thanks so much for the trip back in time. I heard "Round Round We Go" by Trooper on the radio 2 hours ago, and have been doing a deep dive on RUclips all evening for Trooper videos and your name specifically. I just came across your channel a few minutes ago . You deserve a million subscribers at least!! Barbara from Newfoundland Canada 🇨🇦❤
Recently began re-listening to many of Trooper's great songs and, for my money, this is the most beautiful Trooper song. And what an unexpected pleasure to also find this acoustic guitar version. Thank you for this treat.
@@Mo_Taser doin' ok given I'm a lot older than I expected to be? and actually creating quite a bit of music and videos to go along with the songs...I'd say it keeps me young, but it's too late for that...Hope you're doing well, as well. cheers!
@@frankludwig314 I'm hanging in there, thanks. You and I actually met in passing so to speak. We were shoulder to shoulder at the urinals in The Cave and we had a brief conversation. Maybe ''78 or '79? What, you don't remember? We're all a lot older than we expected to be, Frank. Stay young at heart.
@@Mo_Taser The memory of the odour of some of those club washrooms is still ingrained in my mind, to the exclusion of all else...especially the club at Main on Broadway....ugh! The Cave during the day without the cover of darkness was underwhelming to say the least...but the acts that went through there were something else!
Awesome!!! - Frank, you've defiantly got "it" whatever "it" is... Now I don't know which version I like better, I keep going round, round... Great Work!!
thanks, as primarily a keyboardist/singer, any guitar complement is gratefully received. I certainly enjoy playing guitar but over the years was surrounded by so many superb players that I tended to be pretty insecure about it..cheers

glad to hear something positive from my work back then..it would have been just after the Frank Ludwig band dissolved and prior to Body Electric...hope this finds you well, regards, Frank
thanks...hey..have you checked out my rendering of "Waltzing Matilda" on "It's About Time"..I'm basing this on your use of the moniker "mate"..you can find it on frankludwig.ca
Thanks, but be happy with who you are...besides which, I was born in Port Alberni and spent my teen years in Chemainus only moving to Vancouver to go to UBC...and I've been to Spuzzum which as we all know is truly beyond Hope!...all the best developing your own passion...cheers
Frank, what a treat to hear you do your song stripped down on the guitar - your voice is fantastic. The recording arts program you taught at Byng was my favourite thing about high school. That foundation ended up bringing me great joy in my hobbies, but has proven useful in my work. Thanks for being so awesome. :)
It's nice that after all these years audences still want to hear it and that Trooper keep it in the show..re leaving, too much water under the bridge..please check out frankludwig.ca for more recent recordings etc...thanks again
I just typed in 'Round, round we go' hoping to hear the Trooper song and ended up watching a guy singing it on acoustic guitar. I thought well, alright, whatever. As the song played I could hear real conviction in the singing and a great feel for the song. I thought ' who the hell could be playing the song so well?' Then it started to dawn on me that it was actually too good. That's when I read the comments and found out you are the singer and writer. 959 views? Pointedly absurd!
Now I know what the lyrics mean. The good news is the the melody of the song I remembered for ages. I was talking to an office co-worker today and he sent me this youtube. Awesome stuff! Have a great day.
glad you like it...yes doing a song on a different instrument allows the characteristics of that instrument to change the feel of it..should have some more clips from the same session in the next few weeks, regards, Frank
I have always loved this song, I didnt realize that you sang it though Frank. I always thought Ra sang all the songs. You voice sounds just like the record. Keep Rockin!
I remember how pleased I was when my daughter "discovered" the Beatles. It's not that often but very gratifying when offspring share a music commonality..thanks for sharing this experience..btw..what better place than a car with wheels for "round, round" eh?...too subliminal? cheers
Hi..glad your search landed you where it did, albeit unintentional...yes, I've wondered why it doesn't get many views...my silly little children's songs gets that many in a few days and tens of thousands in a few months....it was fun trying to make the song a guitar piece as it really was written on piano - and challenging as I'm not really that much of a guitar player...thanks for your comments
you too!...thanks for your Post (btw...this intro was the original concept, which I changed to be about a relationship as we got closer to the Trooper recording date..)
thanks..but be kind...it's not the easiest song to sing unless you have a fairly large vocal range or are a tenor (which I'm not), especially near the end...cheers
nice to know of youngsters with discerning ears and an appreciation for the Classics??? or is this evil brainwashing? either way, thanks for the story..keep singing!
I played this song in my car a couple of times and now it's one of my 13 year old's favorite songs. Always been mine.
