Today I will be showing you more gamers reaction to cave sounds in Minecraft. The gamers include Coryxkenshin, Jacksepticeye, and more. Hope you enjoy.
Not anymore! Post-1.16 versions have a system called Mood. Mood has a percentage that rises which depends how deep you are in the world and how dark it is, a extremely dark place in the deepest caves will make the mood percentage rise quicky, when the mood percentage becomes 100% a cave sound will play no matter if there's a dark cave nearby
i remember, when i first time started playing 1.16 update, i was just standing on hill watching on my finished house, and i heard fast footsteps behind me with cave sound, and i thought it was random mob, so i turn around, but then i saw a freaking pillager, which existence i didn't know, and i was scared as hell
The echoing clank noise is always the spookiest for me because it gives me serious Mines of Moria vibes. Moria is almost completely silent until Pippin accidentally tips a skeleton down a well and the noise echoes for MILES. Just what in the hell is in those caves making that noise?
The reason I’m scared of cave sounds is strange because back on the Xbox 360 edition, I played on worlds with my brother. But, the thing is I played on super flat worlds, This I found strange as whenever I was somewhere else away from my brother I would hear these sounds in the worlds.
old flat worlds only have 4 layers, while cave sounds can detect up to 6 blocks below you, plus void = air blocks so the cave sounds still play i think its already fixed in modern version of the game
that sound is an easter egg because that is the sound of the "predator" an alien from a movie search on google or youtube and then hear the sound it makes
1:12 is the best execution of a cave sound I have ever heard, the combination of it not being too dark, not too light. The sound itself is not too long like sound 13. The music in the background not being too focused on and without it it would feel bland
Thoses sounds are, according to the "Lore": -an old Minecart rolling in an abbandonned mine. -a temple to the Ender nearby. -some very ancient Nether portal still active. -a gallery crumbling. -echo from a dungeon.
the worst part of this sound effect is, when ur mining a straight line and hear that noice, the only thing u can do is just look behind you and see the void, insanely scary. i even hear stuff sometimes checking the server if anyone´s there. this was back when herobrine was really big.
0:53 is a Minecraft cave sound which is called Angels It's calm when you hear nothing creepy on multiplayer but single player when you hear a cave sound will make you leave and it's worse for players who don't know what sound it is
Jack: am a good person, I'm not going straight to hell Minecraft: plays scary cave music coming from down Below I guess Minecraft have a sense of humor 😂
And this is why I play the game with the sound off, I don’t care if I get surprised by a monster or a creeper, I don’t wanna hear those damn sounds lol
Hey guys, the game now has a new algorithm for playing cave sounds now: minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Ambience#Mood_algorithm You can paste this when anyone want some explanation on when the cave sounds play. The good old 3000 seconds algorithm is no longer the case.
The worst feeling you get is when after you hear a cave sound, you start to exit the cave but as your exiting up, you always have that feeling that any moment now…… Something could strike you behind before you even get to the surface
Mood ambience sounds occur based on a "mood" percent value between 0-100. The mood increases when the player is in a cave or in a dark place, and decreases otherwise. When the mood reaches 100%, one of the sounds plays randomly, resetting the mood to 0% and thus restarting the cycle. The darker it is, and the more non-transparent blocks there are, the quicker the mood increases. in Java Edition, the current mood value appears on the debug screen. This is the simplified algorithm for computing this value in pseudocode: ------------------------------ updateMood(mood): tickDelay = 6000 maxLightLevel = 15 block = select a random block in a 17×17×17 block cube centered around the player skyLight = block.getSkyLightLevel() if (skyLight > 0): mood = mood - (skyLight / maxLightLevel) * 0.015 else: blockLight = block.getBlockLightLevel() mood = mood - (blockLight - 1) / tickDelay if (mood ≥ 1.0): player.playSpookySound() mood = 0.0 else if (mood < 0): mood = 0.0 ------------------------------ This method is called once every tick. It selects a random block in a 17×17×17 area centered around the player's eye position, and alters the mood value accordingly: * If the selected block has sky light, it decreases the mood by 1⁄1000 per sky light level. * If it has a block light level above 1, it decreases the mood value by (block light level - 1)⁄6000. * If the block light level is 0, it increases the mood value by 1⁄6000. * This means that if you are in complete darkness and there are no lit blocks around you, an ambient noise will play every 6000 ticks (5 minutes). Since non-transparent blocks are considered to have a sky and block light level of 0, the mood value increases especially fast if you're in a cave.
@@netheriteshovel1526 To break the tick system down further, this essentially means the mood value goes up by 1% every 3 seconds when in a completely dark cave (light from lava doesn't count). And in this case, 1 tick would be 0.05 seconds, which means it takes 300 seconds (5 minutes) for the ticks to accumulate to 6000.
This is why I mostly play Minecraft on multiplayer because single player is scary asf. It’s so lonely but then all of a sudden you hear these weird ass cave sounds even when you’re on the surface and it’s scary asf, not to mention the jump scares of creepers coming from the darkness and hearing footsteps, it’s a whole horror game bruh 💀
It's all fun and games until you hear the sounds and then footsteps
*Mostly when it's single player.*
Expecially when ur in creative and u have the urge to just blow everything up just to find the source of the noise
This why i bring my pets when i mining
Ok
it's just a zombie.
*but you in danger if it on peaceful.*
Yep I'm scared in single player
I only play multiplayer
The cave sounds are one of the best features in Minecraft. It adds a layer of horror which I love
It haunts me ;-;
i hate horror👻😐😐
@PanMaster me too
Not when you’re used to it 🥺
I turned it off because I had gotten used to it and instead of scating me it just annoyed me

Damn then I would quit minecraft
and then "The Eye of Cthulhu has awoken!"

The cave sounds play when the lights level falls below a certain level, that's why they sometimes play when there are no caves to be found
Wait,that actually make sense!good point friend.
It plays when there’s a cave nearby which is why people hear it on the surface

Just what in the hell is in those caves making that noise?
I'm pretty sure that sounds effect is supposed to be a tumbling minecart.
According to many theories, it could be Steve getting flashbacks to his ‘accident’ or something like that.
0:50 I heard it while mining & it was so scary, I immediately turned off my laptop
my guy, the first time I heard that I stopped playing minecraft for a week
That one sound specifically scares me the most
So did I
The scariest sound for me

1:25 I hear that sounds in my hardcore world while mining.that is freaking so scary:they call that erie noise
But why minecraft add it
I have the most intense chill slowing down my spine whlie hearing that
I think Mojang added those sounds to prevent us from playing it and go get some rest 😂
Seems more like a way to keep you awake at night lmao
All of the players were scared to hear the cave's sound

This ambience specifically at 0:51 scares me the most out of all the cave ambiences

That, Jack, was the sound of Hell contradicting you.
Cave sounds are sure creepy
Btw herobrine doing that sound
First time hearing this and I'm not scared because I've friends playing with.
In the new update, whenever you’re mining super low on the Y-Axis you can actually here to what appears to be the Warden’s clicks
the twomad one was just creepy now, and i'm not even talking about the game
All of these Minecraft cave sounds makes me feel like making a horror game and motivated.

else:
blockLight = block.getBlockLightLevel()
mood = mood - (blockLight - 1) / tickDelay
