Yes fat is a sign of wealth in Nigeria but that’s before. I feel Nigerian body shame more and make a fat person feel like hitting the gym. Because everyone has an opinion on how you look, even people you don’t know. You can only be exempt if you have giving birth. When I was fat, they said all kind of things to me. Someone asked if I did abortion, anyone asked if I was pregnant, everyone has an opinion. And because of that I went to the gym. But now no one telling me bullshit because I am going to the gym. So annoying they will just start calling you “orobo”. Don’t come back to Nigeria if you can’t handle it, because here they will make you feel bad
