I have a theory that Janis wasn't just Reginas' best friend, but the original Gretchen. She says the exact same thing as Gretchen: "It'll be our little secret." They are both privy to lots of information about Regina and functioned as her second in command and similarly get burned by her and begin to hate her.
In this moment you can see how disturbing Janice is. At least the Plastics kept it private. Janice only think of herself so she doesn't think twice about publishing everyone's weaknesses. Like imagine being some random fat kid and only 2 ppl bully you, but now Janice made it public and all 500 kids know you as the "fat kid" now
