  • We received so much rain this spring while black locust, blackberry, and tulip poplars were blooming, several of the smaller colonies are just now building up. We're hoping for fairer weather for the working girls in June. In this video footage taken May 30, 2024, My nephew and I check out a few hives to make sure they're queen right. One of the hives we inspect is Joseph's Hive of Many Colors which he painted after we built it last summer.

Thank you kindly! Joseph is learning fast and getting more comfortable around the bees. It's great to have his company working the hives.

Great to bring the boy in! Nice job. I've been wondering about marking the lids. Wondering if it might reduce drifting?
