5 was so annoying on Haruka imo, doing the same songs over and over. But otherwise it's a great game, and a big one

@@smokeeey9637I loved the Haruka stuff lol. But maybe that’s because I played all the games back to back and it was a nice change of pace.

Yakuza 3 is the second best game in the whole series (next to 5), the vibes are unmatched. The Okinawan city is gorgeous and I've put probably 40 of my 100 hours in 3 just wandering the city taking a look at everything in first person mode. The story being focused on the orphanage with all the children's problems taking center stage from time to time makes it feel so unique and lighthearted compared to 1 and 2 (even if it doesn't end lightheartedly). It also has by far the best homies in the series with Rikiya being one of my favorite characters in the series. Peak game.

I really like Yakuza 3, I prefer it to Kiwami and 4. Imo it’s one of the only games that tried to do something interesting with Kiryu’s character, in this case with the orphanage.

I actually like Yakuza 3 (yes, I'm a weairdo, but hear me out!) The remastered version is ass and I'm glad I started out with this one, as it made me appreciate og 3 much more when I did it again (I platinumed both version, and minigames were the obvious hell in these.) While in Y3R, I relied a shit ton on the Tiger Drop, when I played the PS3 version, I had fun using combos as I could actually evade and strike enemies behind (also Essence of Rolling OP af.)
I honestly have more disdain towards 4, due to the abysmal story pacing (and having to do it THREE times if you're a platinum sucker like me, which makes it 6 for both Y4 and Y4R) and the AI being borderline unfair during long battles. I think 3 is slept on way too much compared to others, but i'm glad it introduced the many things that made this series wonderful.
As for the Judgment statement, I fully agree the next one should be the finale, then focus on (or just make) new IPs. I'm digging the Majima Pirate in Hawaii theme, so I'm not disappointed with the RGG Summit this time.

Gaiden's pacing is much worse than 3's when you realize barely anything in Chapter 3 and 4 have any consequences on the story. If the game skipped straight from Chapter 2 to the Finale, only things you really miss out on is some cool choreography and music, which is not hard to come by with RGG games. Besides forced minigame tutorials, Gaiden also has like 2 seperate "level checks" with your Colosseum rank, forcing you to grind it out to progress the story. Compared to that, I would rather help the kids at the orphanage any day of the week, because at least it doesnt feel arbitrary, youre actually achieving something meaningful.
However both of these are still better than the forced 50 minute Dondoko Island tutorial

Bro, yakuza 3 is top 3 on my list.

    Lemme yap with you.
Because of all claims I heard I skipped it first time and watched walkthrough on RUclips. But I am no coward, I fixed my mistake and installed Yakuza 3 last month and played from begining to end, even doing substories and a lot of colliseum. Now, being expirienced with Yakuza 3 I can now myself say, that combat is not the best, but when I hear from anyone, that it is because of the blocking, I assume a person did not play Yakuza 3 or rushed it through, because there are so many more even worse problems. Clunky lock on, little to no damage from you and to you, no heat gain, fast heat drain, no damage from heat actions as well, dodge is broken, gun enemies broken AI and recovery stance mechanic is not even working(most theese problems are only present in remake). Despite all that, game was piece of cake even on Hard difficulty. Blocking mechanic can be worked around(sometimes litteraly) with easily, small damage makes fights long, but not that bad, and I even had fun struggling with combat and finding ways to dominate it. Game litteraly can be walked through using one combo, if you don't care about having fun.
And we need Kiwami 3, but not because of combat overhaul(suck balls, everyone, who skipped 3 and was telling me to do the same 😈). We need it because of the RGG's (inconsistant)trend of having as much playeble characters, as number in the title, in Yakuza K1, K2, 4, 5, 7, 8. So if we get Kiwami 3, we might get Daigo and Mine arc! Or maybe Rikiya arc and another Majima arc! Or Joji and Richardson arcs! Possibilities are endless!

I'm worried about th future of the franchise with how closely they are now trying to work with the American translators and the horrendous English voice reads from Yong Yea to changes in the actual story. The appeal of it was being unapologetically Japanese not trying to be American

It started falling off after they brought Kiryu back tbh, 6 was a fitting end but because the series was gaining popularity and westerners were fans of Kiryu they brought him back to boost the sales of their new JPRG main series. 7 was fine but it started losing the vibe with gaiden. At least there's judgement to carry the torch.

I dont care what anyone says, Peakuza 3 had such a good story that it excuses all the bad things about the game. Rikiya is best boy.
