- Upgrade your stock mirror set on your OMTech / Chinese laser using the American Photonics Silicone Si Mirror set. At just $36 (plus discount below), this is one of the more inexpensive, but powerful upgrades. Having a clean and clear mirror set is essential for maintaining optimal performance. If you have an OMTech, your mirror diameter will be 25 mm. If you don't know, I recommending removing one and measuring with calipers.

Thanks so much, couldn't believe how trashed my original mirrors were, I know this will make a huge difference.
Thanks for watching!
This is exactly what i needed, my alignment is off on the right side of my laser bed. Now to try it out. Thank you for the great explanation.
Glad it helped. I have an alignment video that may help as well

I thought it was using a American Photonics alignment tool
Not sure what you’re referring to
completely unrelated to the mirrors, but what beam combiner do you have on your machine? I'm trying to get something that works but my clearances are so small on the laser i have. The way you have yours installed would work like a charm for me. Any info you could give would be great. Thanks!
Do you have an OMTech? Only the AF2028-80 model comes with this beam combiner. It works great for me. Unfortunately they don’t sell it online, HOWEVER if you call the office and ask for them to sell you the beam combiner from the AF2028-80w they might be willing to do so. In our FB community, I suggested the same thing and have heard of many successful calls. You can also try and tell them that you have an AF2028-80 and yours busted and need a new one.
@@EdmondsWoodshop Awesome! Thank you for the info. I have reached out and hopefully will get some info on it. What community on FB? I essentially quit social media a few years ago, but I'm willing to drop in for some good info and collaboration. 🙂
About to order these mirrors and the AP lens upgrade, where'd you get the mirror cleaning cloth or can I just get a cloth for cleaning glasses
I put the link in the description box. It’s just a cloth for cleaning glasses
Do you need to re align after changing them?
You should need to as you didn’t touch any of the adjustment screws, but it’s always good to check after installing them.
I have a video on alignment as well.
Just wondering if the used mirrors can be reused / recoated ?
Not 100% sure the process to do that, but a set of mirrors are so inexpensive it may not be worth doing. Roughly $25 a set
@@EdmondsWoodshop recycling could bring the cost to less than $5....and definitely help in conservation of global resources... im working on this.. if you get any information do share....
Any chance you did a before and after cut quality test?
New Mirrors won’t give you a performance increase unless your previous mirrors are in bad shape i.e. severely dirty or damaged.
This specific laser that I was swapping mirrors from was only a few months old so the mirrors will still in good shape minus a few smudges. I didn’t see any real quality difference between the two sets.
Over time mirrors can develop a haze or get scratched so i consider them perishable items that will need to be replaced from time to time. It’s part of long term maintenance with having these machines.
