so say I want to upgrade my 6.5” entry nav display screen on my 2019 x3 to a OEM 8.8” screen. Will this apply to that ? Thanks for any information you may have !
I've purchased a replacement screen for my 2015 F30 and it is an exact replacement (I have the 8.8" screen from factory). The trim came off fine, and the screws are removed, but the wire running to the original screen that it will barely lift an inch off the dashboard. Nothing else is holding it. The wiring harness is extremely short. I can't turn it around or get behind it to disconnect the wires. Any advice would be appreciated.
I was able to solve this issue. I have the Harmon Kardon head unit and navigation built in. The wire from the head unit is much shorter than in the video. I had to take off a few more pieces of trim and loosen the head unit to move it forward without disconnecting it. This gave slack in the cable so I could swap the screen. It's a few more pieces of trim, and T20 screws but not a big deal.
Same issue for me with a 2013 F30, I was still able to locate the tiny releasing clip without seeing it (i.e. using fingertips), push it in and use a screwdriver behind the cord to pop it out similar to how he does it at 2:50 in the video, you can put the tip of the screwdriver behind the cord metal piece and pull the screwdriver handle towards you to pop out the connector. I also took a picture of the cord connector with my phone to see what it looks like and where the releasing clip is.
If my current screen is like this one, an 8.8" screen already, and it is sun damaged, if I replace it with a second hand identical screen, will it require coding? or any extra process to make it work?
Hi I have 2015 F20 NBT idrive needs to repalce the screen. Should I recode to match to my current car? The other screen is an identical screen second hand from donor. Thank you
www.bimmer-tech.net/page-installers - here you can find our installer in Sydney, but we don't guarantee him doing it, because the screen replacement is not from our shop :)
2017 BMW x3 idrive screen is black. Doesn’t turn on at all. Tried to reset it with the volume button and battery disconnect. Will this fix that or could be another issue?

So far this is the worst stereo Ive ever had, I dont know why BMW made it to where you couldnt replace the stereo with a double din, these bmw radios have no output jack or anything to install a sound system. Aint no way Im paying 800-1k for a stereo yes I get it does much more than just play music

Yes, you can upgrade your screen to 8,8”. For more details, please contact our sales.
Is it safe to replace the outer glass only or does it damage the screen
We don't support such a solution, so you can do it on your own responsibility
Does the screen have any software or hardware components built in it or it's just a screen?
This is only a screen :)
