This is fantastic. Thank you very much not only for presenting the video but especially for the english subtitles. That's very, very helpful.

Lechatnoir sure my friend. Sometimes there’s no much people familiar with Master’s way of saying things. That’s why this sort of documentary is always lack of subtitles.

Is it wrong to “control” posture too much in Zhan zhuang?
Would more correct to be “free and loose” with gentle intention to do the posture, and allow spontaneous changes to happen?
Like if body begins to shake long time, is it ok to let it continue or better to stop it with intent.

    • @lineagemartialarts7910
      @lineagemartialarts7910  3 года назад +2

Control and free/loose both are needed, just in a balanced manner. Body begins to shake and when need to stop or continue depending on one’s physical condition, but never over training and go beyond one’s limits.

@@lineagemartialarts7910 sometime i shake for almost 1 hour, and I feel deep vibration in whole body and some deep very deep muscle stiff in back release and contract again, I feel relief but it always come back later.
And after 1 hour I’m completely sweaty.
Maybe I go beyond limit but don’t realize it, because shaking is nice feeling and no pain.
But I feel like it’s always temporary effects, back stiffness always come back.
Maybe I need to do more slow and control with small movement swaying, it could teach body to relax better maybe, or also do laying down Zhan zhuang?

@@ItsAllGoodGames dont pursue shake during the process, body state kind of like a string of a bow, neither over in tense nor lose, a balanced state.

      @@lineagemartialarts7910 I see, thanks.
Even when i don't pursue, i get shaking though because of muscle spasm in legs and back.
I guess i have to be patient.

The three dimensional power instruction feels confusing, how does one do it without agitating mind and body?

Yes it’s complicated, that’s why called Maodun Li (矛盾力), it trains both your physical and mental.

She gives very good details but I think there needs to be more practical demonstration... How does the hugging stance become useful in self defense? How do we apply the other stance in a fight?

Yiquan Stance training to improve your ability other than how to application in a fight. It is a training method other than a fighting technique.

@@DavidBarnwell876tkdja The key point is in the connection hand/foot, elbow/knee and shoulder/hip. From my experience (about 20 years), I would say that your body learns first, then your mind feels new things and "understands". (sorry, my English doesn't allow me to be as clear as I would be in French...)
