How do you climb Everest? Step by step.
Here at Climbing the Seven Summits we have created a series of route familiarisation videos because we believe that prepared climbers are successful climbers and being able to visualise the route, and the climb ahead not only inspires, it hopefully educates and helps contribute to your success.

The footage of the ice wall was really cool. Unfortunately most of the video was a closeup of purple nose peter rambling on about god knows what.

It's not really climbing if you use Sherpas.
go alone, without help and complete the climb and that's a Summit.
Anything else is commercial garbage.

One of the best short vids of the ice fall I've seen yet. Thanks. The Khumbu fascinates me, I don't know why. I'm too old now to go on that type of journey, but even if I was young I question whether I'd do it or not. Brave folks go up Everest for sure. Props to them.

As someone thats still very young, attempting to summit everst is something I wanna achieve in my lifetime
the main thing thats stopping me, aside from the obvious dangers and obstacles the journey entails, is the funs :(

The last comment stated that he climbed three thousand feet in an hour at altitude, um no that doesn’t happen. Ask Ulie Steck... or any professional climber.

@@michaelw6277 Ladders have always been used for mountaineering, it's not cheating.
You might make that argument with using oxygen and the help of sherpas though. Did you really climb a mountain if other people did all the hard work for you?
@@lynnyfee so the ladders were just there and in place for the first people to climb the mountain? Oxygen is a requirement for life, it is not an "aid", it is a necessity. But ladders are not required for life, and using these aids which were not set in place by your own climbing team dilutes the accomplishment and lends credibility to the idea that Everest has become an amusement park ride for rich people who aren't willing to tackle the more difficult and inconvenient aspects of the climb.

Stay at home ;) enjoy your life... Expensive one-way tickets to the top... if you really wanna go u can book a flight for maybe 280 bugs and just enjoy your trip around the mt. Everest and it's neighbours. You have the same beautiful view but it's not that dangerous and it's really CHEAP compared to the overpriced 1-2 month trip, ending as the next sightseeing or waypoint for the other climbers ;) You can also watch the mt. Everest trip yourself on the MS Flight Simulator :D It looks amazing in 4k.

12 y/o here ; if you plan to trek Everest when you're older, you'll REALLY need to train. Not having the proper training could lead to your demise. Also follow whatever the Sherpas say. If they tell you that you should return to a Base Camp and forfeit the summit, do so. They are trained with the mountain and will know when you are pushed to your limits.

I don't know why people feel the need to do this, they threaten their own lives, it should only be used for scientific, research purposes only. It absolutely blows my mind, the experience is exhilarating but, too risky in my opinion and I'd you do pass away up there, there's a chance that you will be left alone up there and you may never be retrieved. The thought of that is terrifying, especially if alive and you're just left . It would be every man for themselves unless you have the odd person who would stay with you . I believe I've heard this happen before and they've ended up dead too, to stay & help someone. It's very sad indeed. .

You don't get it, but your ancestors who made it possible for you to live today did get it. I can tell you have never tried something that pushes you past your limits, growth is something us humans don't appreciate, but our future and past do, they would be thankful of you growing as a person, mount everest is for the brave, why did Alexander the Great conquer most of the world as we know it? what a stupid decision right? or was it just the burning fire of the soul that outliers possess to do something that has never (or rarely) been done before? It's in our deepest nature to take risks and then get rewards, when you're not putting yourself at any risk you're comfortable, you're letting yourself stagnate, not staying true to your nature, that's how you live like the others, if you want to see how the world truly looks, maybe you should try and see how it looks from the top. You don't know how it feels or what it'll look like in real life but all you require is hope and determination, and a big leap of faith.

Why not do it halfway? You can hike to Everest Base Camp in Nepal without a problem.
Or for the really lazy, there's a bus going to Base Camp on the Tibetan side.

Everest has been summited thousands of time that it has become easy as the paths are well laid out. K2 on the other hand is the real mountain! 10x harder!
@Alpha Omega No it isn't. Yes sherpas will take most of the heavy stuff and there are routes layed out, but it is still incredibly dangerous and a sudden change in weather, a avalanche or just simply mountain sickness resulting from your body not being able to handle the height can kill you.
You need to be in your best shape possible and be experienced or you will not make it to the top. K2 is deadlier yes but everest is still very very far from being "easy" or like "disney land".

K2 is harder technically and has a higher death rate. But Everest is not "easy"
