It's all well and good to laugh at this, but these laws against offending people are being passed daily and we are well on our way to an Orwellian society. You should be very scared, not offended.
I haven't seen any reports of Trump supporters attacking people. All I've seen are Hillary mobs roaming the streets rioting, looting, starting fires, attacking Trump supporters, stealing signs, calling names....generally acting like spoiled 2 year olds cuz' they didn't get a cookie.

Ok, so about smoking: Either we have legal public regulations for where smoking is allowed and not, or you have Joe linebacker who hates cigarette smoke literally punching you out because he doesn't want you smoking near him. It's a delicate balance that we want. We want cops who maintain the peace but not cops who can imprison you for having some drugs on your person. Drugs are a medical/health issue and not a criminal/justice one.

This guy is right on point. I remember the '80s People were more free then. Now if you say, or do certain thing's, you could get fired from your job, or end up in jail. The only legitimate understanding or intent of any words spoken is that of the one speaking. Not the misinterpretation of the listener.......If what the speaker is saying is intended as a compliment by the speaker, taking it out of context by the listener is not the fault of the speaker. The apparent "micro aggression" experienced by the listener is most often nothing more than that: a misunderstanding. Not an intentional aggression of any sort. . Being instructed and informed as to how your words may unintentionally be insulting to another is a good thing..... But using the "micro aggression" hammer as an excuse to push your own agenda is an aggression and a discrimination in itself.

This confusion with linguistics is a common problem encountered whenever very diverse individuals must interact. Something that is becoming all the norm in the world today. I think that the health and safety culture is less about control than it is about organisations not getting sued. If people didn't immediately think of 'compo' whenever they did something stupid and had an accident, then there would be fewer regulations brought in to protect companies that they work for from vindictive law suits from chancers.
