Drug addiction is a mental & psychical heath problem. I'm an addict. I will be an addict for the rest of my life. Ues I'm clean & have been for 14yrs. Its the knowledge I'm an addict that helps my sobriety. Sending addicts to prison will mostly likely they'll be active addicts when they get out. Especially people addicted to opiates. The only up side to sending addicts to prison only benefits the ones running the prisons with more funding.

Probably because they are increasing the likelihood of negligence? If you pull someone over and they have a hallucinogen in their car, they should be held accountable as that would increase the likelihood of reckless endangerment.
Now you might say that this analogy is ok because it's in an automobile or you might say that possession doesn't necessarily indicate active use but even then I'm against drug usage in public spaces, dangerous environments, etc. I don't think we should regulate it as heavily in residences and privatised establishments but this also has its potential consequences.

The criminal prosecution makes sense for how even pharmaceuticals for conditions can harm developing fetuses, criminal narcotics are the same. We need systems in place for rehab and going after the dealers and manufacturers in order to stop this cycle.

I use drugs and I feel if a woman uses drugs pregnant she should be held liable for the baby's death.

That's pretty stupid, I'd assume you'd say the same for any still births as well? Since it's kind of their fault for also having a medical condition and conceiving. See the can of worms you open up. This isn't going to stop Jack , people are just going to end up going to a different state and get an abortion anyways if it's considered murder for not properly giving birth to a child. I hate how fetuses are considered people, they aren't really, is child murder bad yes but only when you know the child is outside able to breath and such.
