As an employee, volunteer, and attendee of many conventions this is solid advice no matter what con you are going to.

This is great, I've always been Afraid to travel to a convention because "I don't know what I don't know" this is excellent info and now I think I'm gonna try and travel to a con.

Someday I hope to get to go to a Con. I have bought tons of botcon/otfcc convention items but never got the chance to go. 😮

I've attended and worked at a couple of conventions (and 1 Botcon) and have compiled a couple of tips:
    1. Water - Stay hydrated. AC differs from venue to venue.
    2. Zip-lock bags - A lot of stuff you find are loose, especially accessories that don't come in bags. Bring some of your own so you don't loose anything.
    3. Bring stuff to Sell/ Trade - If you have cards or figures you want to sell or trade, bring them. If you can carry these things with you on the sales floor, it's just like extra cash. If cash is king, trades are queens!
    4. Stick around after the end - The best deals I've made are at the last minute. A lot of vendors want to leave with less than what they brought with them. If it means not lugging stuff back home, they will make some really sweet deals.
    5. Haggle - A lot of prices are not set in stone. A little negotiation goes a long way.
Hope these tips help! Good luck and happy hunting!

I've found that reviewing your collection prior to leaving home helps - even better if you can take a list of your collection and/or wants/needs with you. I've had several instances where I question whether or not I already have a particular item/part & I end up either buying a duplicate or finding I needed something I thought I had.

Tip for those who want to spend only on items from a con, pack some non-perishable food. Maybe some canned soups, most hotels I've been to have a microwave in the rooms.
Maybe some deodorant as well because you're gonna be walking around alot while being in crowds so you're gonna get kinda warm.

This was such spot-on advise! Lived and learned a lot of these things going to TF con specifically!
As someone that's hits up a LOT of cons in their lives, I would also suggest bringing utensils. Sounds crazy, but I hate eating at restaurants for a whole 3-4 days for every meal(gotta spend that mony on more TFs) and so I usually go to a grocery store and fill up the hotels mini fridge with things. Utensils go a long way 😅
