I really appreciate these in-depth and completely honest reviews, Mario. You've really built trust with your viewers if they're anything like me. Respect!
*I did my research for months on a production e board to purchase. I came down to the Meepo Hurricane and an Ownboard Zeus Pro. I ended up buying a Ownboard Zeus pro. I didn't want the W concave. I have size 10 1/2 feet so it would be a weird feel to me. I also didn't want double kingpin trucks on a board that can go 30+ MPH. Those 2 factors pushed me towards the Zeus Pro with the 936wh battery pack VS the Hurricane's 725wh battery.*
My same conclusion.....I ordered a Zeus pro. Then ownboard e-mailed me and said we don't ship to that zip code. BUZZKILL!! Back to the drawing boARD for me.....
I agree with you 100 percent when it comes to this board and also have switched the bushings for that riptide bushing box. What a difference maker. Great honest review. I would add that the motors are very quiet.
absolutely love tour style of non biased reviews, im looking forward to see the changes you make to the hurricane to turn it into something more capable. iv heard alot of talk about the space in the deck being able to fit a configurable esc and im excited to see where you take it!
Thanks! I’ve paused the mods video for now, as I’ve got a Bamboo Hurricane review coming out this week, and I’d like to do comparisons before I tear either one apart. But I’m intending on still doing those modifications.
I ride a DKP belt drive Meepo Hurricane on 190mm pneumatics and typically keep it between 25-30 mph. I was initially skeptical about the DKP setup on a board this fast but I haven’t had any speed wobble and definitely now appreciate the carvability and better turning radius at low speeds so you definitely adapt. I’m 45 and have been longboarding for over 25 years though. I could definitely see the setup getting away from less experienced riders.
Hurricane carbon's battery is dead after less than 1500km put on it, Meepo with their lame ass 3 months parts warranty does not care (completely illegal in Europe by the way), trucks are weak, have broken many times (both kingpin and hanger) and ESC is dangerous, shutting down everything even brakes when battery is low : this board is definitely a joke, do not trust any of these sponsored reviews and buy any Meepo's product at your onw risk now that you've been warned 🤷♂

@@MeepoElectricSkateboard Lol, issues I faced with both my HurricaneS, here is their answer to my inquiries : "Upon reviewing your case, we regret to inform you that your warranty period has already expired. I'm afraid that we can't send you the free replacement. For the truck and the brake, we would feedback to our R&D department. And I'm afraid that the remote for the hurricane can't show the check battery health." and I am now stuck with 4k$ of bad welded fire hazard hurricane batteries 🤮
Hello Mario, very good review! I haven't tried the Hurricane, but I thought the Meepo skate was at a higher level, not premium, but a little better. Thank you for your deep analysis, I learn things from you. Greetings.
Dude I rode this thing the other day up at the boardwalk in Virginia Beach Virginia. I have my own board but not a meepo. I have a miles board from San Diego. I ride down there probably 3-4 days a week so I come across a lot of other electric skateboard riders and will often swap boards for a little bit just to try different things when I had the pleasure of writing this model for the first time on Tuesday. Holy hell Did that thing ROAR. So the board that I have is 28 and 1/2 in long It's a penny board that goes 30. I assure you there's nothing like going 30 miles an hour on a board that small That is between 6 and 8 in wide. I had to go 45 on that thing to feel like I was going 30 on my board However the freaking power and torque on that board with something that I have never experienced before. It was actually almost too much for me. Not ashamed to say that. You've got to know your limits in this hobby or it gets you hurt or killed. I mean granted I did punch it's almost 45 miles an hour on the very first step onto the board so within 2 days of riding that I'd be completely fine but at first it was a little bit terrifying. I definitely recommend this board to any moderate to experienced rider. If you are a beginner you do not belong on the board.
HobbyWing ESC (listed company, known as DJI's early controller supplier) focuses more on smooth and precise control, meaning you can get almost any driving feel you want. Extremely smooth acceleration and braking are more suitable for most riders, especially those new to the ESK8. It is now almost comparable to Boosted Board's patented ESC at the time. Meepo uses LingYi-FOC, which pays more attention to power and torque, and its control accuracy is "rough" compared to HobbyWing ESC. More suitable for experienced riders (adrenaline junkies).
⚡🤙🏼 *I really enjoy these detailed, in-depth break downs from you* 🤙🏼⚡ W-Concave only works well for esk8 when there is foam grip tape to "mellow out" the harshness. I like RKP trucks myself but puttin barrels on DKP helps to stabilise it more but yeah, DKP is better suited for carvin at mellow speeds rather than fast. I'm forward to the Bamboo version of the Hurricane but their Voyager with RKP and a big battery is a great option.
Dude you’re knowledge is very valuable. I love and appreciate your understanding of the mechanical/ technical side very thorough review with good info. I hope exway sends you an atlas pro to review lol
Have you ever gotten around to making that other video? I recently had the battery replaced, and would like to know what I can do to make it last longer.
Thanks for the video. Really looking forward to your future vids on the Hurricane. I've been riding mine since spring and have found stability to be an issue - I don't feel the confidence on it to be all I can be. Need to see if I can get rid of the front DKP, or get new bushings in the mean time.
Mine arrived with major faults the truck space that the kingpin goes through had pieces missing and it caused me to crash, the truck completely popped out of the pivot cup. Will probably never touch meepo again cause their customer service was shocking, their fault cause a large amount of damage but they only wanted to replace the truck. Thank god I paid for PayPal and was able to also force them to pay shipping cause meepo were useless. I hope you don’t have a similar experience 🥰
Once u do the other video with mods can u list how much u spent plus the boards price, I just wanna see if moded depending on the price if I should just get another board that comes roughly to the moded one
Great review! Would love to see one on the Revel kit if you get the chance. As someone who's only eskate atm is a onewheel, I've been wondering if using the Revel to turn my pintail into an eskate is worthwhile. Love the videos btw!
I didn’t think the AT2 was incredible. It was sluggish and the brakes on it were terrible. The AT2 is essentially the same board, and is a thinly veiled attempt to vacate older parts with a new half-release.
@@TheBoardGarage the breaks worked well for me, 165lbs...well the at2+ goes 50km/h so I'm gripping that bad boy this spring. Has headlights and tail lights as well. I had no issues with the at2.
It’s a Meepo remote, and it works fine. It’s not an amazing remote, and feels a bit flimsy. But it works, and I don’t personally find displays very useful, especially since the battery indicator is wildly inaccurate. I hope that helps.

Depends on the speeds you’re riding, I have my modded gtr set up loose as it became a little grab and go board when I started building bigger boards for speed, etc. Where I ride we have an abundance of riverside bike paths with heaps of tight turns and it makes for an excellent solo cruising board still.

Throw some Rip Tide bushings in there along with 160mm Cyclone tires and you have amazing stability and curvey. (you mention that) .

I hate DK trucks. Really unstable. Totally useless for electric boards. In real life you won’t take adventage of short turn radious etc.

If your off roading with this board the DKP comes in handy
i like them alot for carving below or at 35km/h. Above 40 km/h they get sketchy if you don't tighten them good.
@@jeremiegui2074 Definitely work well for very tight tracks where you can’t really go for high speed anyway
Try to put your center force on your front leg instead of staying in the center. You'll feel much more stable if you do that at high speed.
I didn't like your review. Seem grandiose and full of panache as a DIY builder. How does that help anyone. Sorry mannn
