I, too, love Summer Lee’s patterns, and her colorwork cuff club. I adapt her color work patterns, so I can knit toe-up socks, because I like that construction much better. Unfortunately, all your choices for sock patterns are, I believe, cuff-down sock patterns.

Yes that “Y” shaped heel is lovely. If you are inspired , look for the work of Cat Bordhi, who sadly is no longer with us. She discovered you can put the increases anywhere in the ankle/ heel region and the sock will fit. This has spurred many new, wonderful sock designs. She has 3 sock ebooks on this topic.
And also, the socks that I am going to knit this fall (for the fourth time ), because I really love them so much are the Nika socks by Eri Shimizu… I am not sure what it is about them but I love how they look and how they wear.. but I am going to check out the patterns you mentioned also so thank you!
Just found you and I am subscribed! You are a great podcaster and I love this video so much. I'm new to socks and anxious to finish my first and move forward. Off to catch up on other videos by you.
Great sock list! Thanks for sharing. I didn't know the story behind Socktober either. I'll add some socks to our town's blessing boxes this month. For putting colors together, I have found Pinterest color boards very helpful. All you have to do is ask for, as an example, "color combos with forest green," and pinterest will magically populate your screen with hundreds of color palettes that include forest green.
@@knittielynnie oh that makes me so happy to hear! Thank you for doing that! And that’s a really good idea for using Pinterest to help with color palettes. I do often save color palette idea to boards but then I never think to use them to help me pick out yarn. Thank you for drawing my attention to this! Such a great idea!!!
I enjoyed this episode. I am healing from tendonitis in my wrist, so my knitting is very limited but I am (and have always been) really attracted to sock knitting. No, I've never heard of the kite heel before, though I have seen that pattern. It's very intriguing. Just now, I googled "kite heel socks" (or something similar) and found a thread on Ravelry. It's pretty rare, but it seems that it was used before. Thanks for the heads up on Yucca. I've added her to my "favorite designers" list. I also purchased Summer Lee's sock subscription when she launched it, but haven't used it yet. It's interesting that two of my *favorite* sock patterns didn't appear on any of your lists: Hermione's Everyday Socks (also free) and Nancy Wheeler's Titygaga socks. Every year Nancy creates a "boob themed" pattern (it's very subtle) and the proceeds for the first month go to breast cancer research in Canada. She also has free patterns for knitting prosthetic boobs for mastectomy patients. This evening I cast on Kay Jones' (of the Bakery Bears) Fairground Socks. Kay has said that all her teenaged daughter wants are Fairground socks. I like to use self striping yarns, and this pattern is great for that. Anyway, thanks muchly! I've subscribed...
Oh! Another pair of socks I really want to knit is Mermaid Waves by Amy of Three by the Sea Designs; it's for sale on her Etsy shop. She lives near Tampa. I contacted her the night of Helena and they (she, her mom, and her sister) were ok then, but I hope that continues to be true!

I love her and Kay the Crazy Sock Lady. I’m working on a shawl that feels like it’s taking forever. No fun when you’re ready to cast on a new pair of socks. So I just cast on the library socks for my mom’s Christmas gift. She’s always wanted hand knit socks.
