Stayed there in the mid 90’s when it was pretty new. It was awesome and so unique. That open atrium area even had a very warm intimate feel. Great memories from an iconic property.
I’m here right now and it’s not bad for the price. I’m comfortable and it’s cheap. You get what you pay for but there’s nothing wrong with this place. It’s older and not as flashy as other places.
I love the Luxor. So much to do there. And the Pyramid suites with the tubs are relaxing. Maybe not the fanciest but still very cool. Inclinations are a bit shaky, but that’s part of the charm. Thanks for making this video, GiV!
Hotel bed sheets are often tucked in tightly to give the bed a neat and tidy appearance This practice also helps to create a crisp wrinkle free look which is appealing to guests also helps guest know they cleaned the room
Another great upload. Fantastic job connecting with your audience and providing us these excellent tours of not only Venice Beach, but now also Las Vegas. Keep up the awesome work with all of these engaging/interesting videos! Thanks.
The Luxor used to look a little shabby a few years ago. Glad it's improved because I am partial to the Egyptian theme. Thx for another great video, GIV!! 😊
Thank you!!! I always wanted to stay at the Luxor, to see how the wall intersected with the floor. Originally, they had the "Nile River" flowing through the Luxor with Royal barges, and I believe Cleopatra could occasionally be seen floating down the Nile on her beautiful boat.
Man I would love for you to do like a review of every nice hotel in Vegas. You'd sure get some reviews that way and some likes. Many people would love to see that because you do such a good job.
The Luxor could use a few upgrades and patching-up, but $60 is fitting for a room. I've always wanted to see the Bodies exhibit, and the Titanic Artifacts; I'll definitely head there this year for that. Thanks, GIV for sharing.
I remember when the Luxor opened. I was living in LA. As you came over the hill on the highway to Las Vegas, you would see the beam of light from the Luxor. It was pretty cool. I think I stayed there one night and I stayed the the Excaliber ('Have a Royal Day' was the Excaliber phrase - hysterical). I used to stay exclusively at the Hilton (former International). Then it changed to LVH and became a dump. Bellagio is now my favorite - but I haven't been to Las Vegas in many years.
Place still looks like a nice, fun place to stay to me as well GIV. The strip is constantly getting big new resorts, which I think is why some people don’t care for the Luxor. I bet if it was located almost anywhere other than the Vegas strip, most people would love it.
Hi Mike, It's been quite awhile since I've watched one of your videos. I am subscribed to your channel, but I haven't seen any of your videos showing up on the front page of my youtube recently. I just thought of you and your videos tonight and I had to look through the whole list of my subscriptions to find your channel and I found you then. I looked to see what videos you had uploaded recently and I saw the one in which you wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Christmas is now about a month ago, so I won't wish you a Merry Christmas, but I do wish you a Happy New Year. I hope this year will be filled with much happiness for you. 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 ........ I love the upside down smiley face emoji. It's fun.
Thanks for these great Vegas tours amazing seeing inside as well as just outside the different hotels. Glad you had deals so you were able to stay longer. Have a safe trip back to Venice ❤
Wow that looks like a pretty good place to stay. I guess depending on when you do stay there that was a pretty good price that you paid for the night. Thanks for bringing us along again GiV…
I sorta hop around at the casinos. Staying at one for a year or two then on to the next. Excalibur is where I'm at now and moving to Luxor later on twice this year. I wonder if the casino floor is just as busy as any other, like the Exclaibur etc. I read somewhere the casino itself I think is quite bigger than Excalibur which I think would mean more slots to play. Can't wait to check it out. The hotel sorta reminds me of the last times I stayed at the Flamingo. Flamingo was nothing big to me. Just a room. Seemed I always was put by the elevator when I stayed at Flamingo. :)
I remember watching Criss Angel:Mindfreak when he was performing at the Luxor in 2018.. it was the last month he was there before going to Planet Hollywood... it was a cool venue.. went again back in July to watch Blue Man Group.
Nice video. I stayed there back in 2010 when I got married. It was nice. The room had a hot tub in it. Chris Angel was performing there then. Thanks for sharing…!
You just need to play for a few hours with the MGM players card. After that they'll send you free suites offers all the time. So I can stay at the better MGM properties one or two nights or at the Luxor for up to 4 nights for free. When I lived in La I used to go to Vegas all the time and usually stayed for free. My favorite place was the Palazzo. Great suites. I'd regularly either break Even or walk away with a couple thousand dollars. One time I was on the way to the airport stopped at a machine and won 4 grand!
I remember staying here in 1996 not long after it opened, it was a real sight to behold and i asked my parents specifically to stay at this hotel. We had one of the premium rooms with a Jacuzzi and lounge it was lovely and the rooms inside had a egyptian theme. You could see out the windows but it was restricted due to the slant and dark outer coating. Its sad to see how its succumbed to corporate advertising with that horrid Doritos and MGM adverts on the side of the pryramid .. they are treating it like its your everyday office building and not a unique structure.
I don't know if anyone remembers, but back when the Luxor first opened there was an actual river in the lobby and guests had to ride a little boat to get to the check in counter
What?????? Mike that’s a nice room compared to others I’ve seen from people who stayed there. Thanks for showing us ur stay. It was wayyyy different than what I have heard. Tusing lol ( I need to look up my German spelling)
I stayed there for a few days last September with friends. Great place! Looking forward to visiting again. I hope they take the Doritos branding off, I think it looks awful. I prefer the black glass look.
Luxor is not to bad for the price. If you get an MGM players card they will often offer free weekday rooms at this hotel and a few of the other lower tier MGM properties. It does not take much gambling to get free rooms midweek here when it is not that busy. I think it is a decent value overall even though it is not that luxurious nor the best location.
My 1st trip to the Vegas back to 1992, and I had stayed at this hotel when it just grand opening for a month. Everything is brand new .. The Pyramid design was one of a kind in Vegas ... On top of the Pyramid is a huge white laser light, we can see the light 40 miles away ... it's really cool back then ..
Thanks for another great video about Vegas! We haven’t gone there in over 10 years after the good and affordable buffets were pretty much all gone due to greed and room prices went absurd. Blowing our money now on other stuff we don’t need. Nevertheless, nice to see these impressive, cool hotels! Always a joy to look at 👍
Good hotel for the price you pay. We know Luxor gets bad reviews, but we have stayed 4 times in the last year and have no complaints 😊. Hope to see you in Vegas in the near future.
Great video. I got to see the Titanic exhibit in Memphis Tenn when I was in high-school. Very sad but incredible to see. It was in the Pyramid in Memphis before it got sold to Bass Pro shop
Somewhere I have photos of that hotel complex as they built it. I stayed at the Excaliber Hotel but I am not like you in being able to retrieve those old photos whenever I want.
Really cool to see you explore all theses great places....from Michael Jacksons house, The homeless camps on the beach and now Vegas. Thanks for sharing.....and taking us along for the ride.
Mike … if you get a chance you MUST visit the NoMad. It is a secret hotel inside another hotel and the decor is simply out of this world. There is a seating area that looks like a mash-up between a Sherlock Holmes library and a port-only gentleman’s bar.

I liked your room, I stayed in a room like that in a dream I had about staying at the luxor, except my room came with a Butler from the Titanic. I went before the room renovation.
I can't believe they actually put Doritos logo on their building... Wow, what a tear down to the view of the strip.
yeah it is very tacky
The Doritos display is for a Super Bowl ad when the Super bowl is n town in Feb.
Agree it looks tacky and cheapens the image of the hotel
That room was actually pretty nice for only 60 dollars, I wouldn't mind it at all! Cheap and very nice, hi to your mum😊❤😊
Stayed there in the mid 90’s when it was pretty new. It was awesome and so unique. That open atrium area even had a very warm intimate feel. Great memories from an iconic property.

Always check sheets for bed bug spots of blood .
@@rmcnasty7319ew yuk, but you are right.
UV light is a must in any Hotel of the World. 🔦
that's how they make beds in UK Prisons, all be it just two sheets, a pillow and slip and a blanket.
Another great upload.

Thank you for showing the room. I am a solo traveler.
The Luxor used to look a little shabby a few years ago. Glad it's improved because I am partial to the Egyptian theme. Thx for another great video, GIV!! 😊
GIV never fails to entertain . BEST CHANNEL EVER !!!!
I stayed there. "King Tut" by Steve Martin kept playing in my head. What schlock.
Thank you!!! I always wanted to stay at the Luxor, to see how the wall intersected with the floor. Originally, they had the "Nile River" flowing through the Luxor with Royal barges, and I believe Cleopatra could occasionally be seen floating down the Nile on her beautiful boat.
GIV,
Loved the "Howard Jones" reference. Made my day.
Lol, yes! 😅
I chuckled at that too!!
Love your Vegas content, amazing

I’ve been having a hard time and your videos cheer me up. Thank you.
Me too! 💋
Great Video $60 dollars Is fantastic I use to work at the Luxor for 15 yrs now retired but It was so different back then
Thank you GIV!! Rock on!!

Always liked the LUXOR, Nile river ride was very cool, sorry to see its no longer available.

Hello from Polish guy from NY to German guy ❤
Dobry wieczór & Prost from Germany ! 😉🍺👍
Mike, I really enjoyed your video’s of Las Vegas and the Cosmopolitan hotel and the Luxor hotel as well. ❤
Looks like a neat place to stay. If we come back to Vegas maybe we will stay there.
The Vegas Pyramid is huge inside. I didn't know they had such a place there. Thanks for the tour GIV.
The GIV is the boss. I love his videos more than the Woo lately.

Its a great hotel. Have stayed here many times and its always been good value for money for a hotel on the strip.

That room is usually around 300 per night. That’s a steal, GIV. Thanks for the tour.
@@bambinaforever1402 prices have gone up like crazy for everything travel related.. maybe now they’re desperate to have people stay there
I've stayed at the Luxor and did the Titanic The Artifact Exhibition as well. You can only take pictures but no video.

Hello Mike

Man, I'd live there for $60 a night! Stayed next door at Excalibur not long ago and I don't think they had a fridge either.
Thanks GIV ! The Luxor is fantastic....love to stay there. Good you had a good sleep ! Now breakfast!
Thanks again for the tour!

Love your vids, German in Vegas!
Be careful they have a reputation for having bedbugs. I stayed in 96 they had a boat ride. It was allot of fun.
That's a great hotel room for $60/night! Except..... no bathtub. It's nice to take a bath (and not have to clean the tub) while on holiday.
Awesome
My favourite hotel ▶️🤩
The elevators in the Luxor are called "inclinators" and your'e right, riding them feels weird because your'e going sideways
Awesome GiV, thanks for the tour man... 👍👍👍
