I agree, especially with how tall that thing is, the track-width is kinda pathetic! Makes me think of a fat person with really skinny legs for some reason.
Well, I think we all agree there is something wrong there and they should address it. They lifted it too high for the axles they used and in the video something just looks wrong on the rear passenger side, looks like it is way too far into the wheel well or something. Maybe they don't have the spring hanger mounts located evenly on the axle housing?
I appreciate Rock Auto, I restored my 1965 GMC 1500 truck to driver condition using parts on a small budget from Rock Auto! It also has an original seat like the one you guys installed, I will be doing more in the future! Thanks Guys!
It is a cool build and I like the suspension works. But Jesus, that thing looks like it wouldn't take much to tip over. It definitely needs either wider axles or a much wider wheel and tire combination..... or both honestly. Other than that, awesome job on this one guys!
Should have called Stacy David for some help... maybe then your rear end wouldn't be shifted... you'd have the right wheels and tires with bead locks.. etc.
It’s supposed to be a secret but since the cat’s out of the bag………..All these programs are just glorified, very long TV commercials anyway. You’re welcome. 📺
is it just me or did that rear axle shift? I'm guessing the jam nuts came loose on the control arms. Noticed it when they went after the mud. You could see the driver side sticking way out and then when power washing it looks like the passenger is sitting way in.
Nearly had my 4WD Tahoe slide off an embankment in Baja a few years ago. Tow truck hombre came, we had to wrap the cable around a huge saguaro cactus to keep the truck from slipping as he winched it. Good times.
Anyone else notice the rear axle on "Unbreakable" is shifted towards the drivers side? Passenger side is pushed in 3". I noticed that before they started wheeling. It's like the frame to body bolts bent in the back. I think I would have put beadlock rims on there too with some 36" super swampers.
Yep. Keep using that door to pull yourself into the truck. That generation of Suburban, heck all Chevy trucks, are known for its stout door hinges that never sag.
They did all the measurementing to get the front axle in right and just phoned it in on the rear axle because that thing is WAY off center. Looks to be off almost a foot to the driver's side.
The rear link setting was WAY off!!! Looks laughable. I think another day to get the rearend where it was supposed to have been woulda done ALOT for Your credibility...
Is that a rear axle out of a samurai? Jesus, did they even take measurements! I had to go back and find the rear suspension install. They messed up with that rear suspension. They say it’s triangulated, but the angle of the upper arms is not enough to keep them located. And the length of them combined with that allows it to move too much which is why something bent that they didn’t address! It needs a trac bar (panhard bar)!
Of all the sponsors they needed to be hit up by Stanely tape measures. That rear axle is STUFFED. Stacy David would have done this rig justice. Get these clowns outta here.
Too long a wheelbase, too tall, too narrow track...lots of expensive suspension hardware maybe twelve inches of ground clearance? If you didn't get stuck somewhere because it's too long...or bust something because of limited clearance on the axles, then you'd tip the thing over & be stuck with your big dollar machine on its side..Poor execution...seen lots of these on their sides on trails.
The rear axle is not centered in the body those wheels are too far under the frame that's why it's so unsteady you may feel like the Springs are too soft but those tires need to be farther apart spaced out those rear tires are tucked too far in but only on one side
And building lessons....at least 20 minutes with a link calculator.....good properly off set wheels and decent set of deaver rear leaf springs would have at least saved some credibility. Totally clueless assclowns. A true Shame.
Y'all put wayyyy too narrow axles on there. The body is hanging out into open air for 5 inches on each side. Need either some wheel spacers with wider wheel/tire combination or just wider axles.
Rainy day here in Alabama so RUclips it is. Just watched this episode and Wow. Can't believe they aired this. That thing has so many problems. Lots of money in parts for sure but a horrible execution on the build. Who ever picked the tire and wheel package was way wrong. The rear axle is one step to the left from total disaster. DOT sees that and it's going on a rollback for sure. Totally unsafe for the road. They could lower the thing a couple inches and make it a little more stable. A good set of quality custom leafs would have been way better than that mess. Stacy David is sitting at home laughing at that thing. Next time hire Stacy for technical guidance. Sorry to be so blunt but that thing is unsafe. Suburban Gorilla built by Ian and the late Jessy was 1000 times better machine.
That rear axle really shifted to the deivers side!!
You beat me to it. I noticed the axles shifting alot side to side
Was it an optical illusion or was the rear axle on "Unbreakable" shifted to the driver's side?
I saw that too they might wanna fix that
no illusions. That shit's a foot too far to the left. lol
Yeah, what's crazy is they never talked about it
Bad geometry and component selection ... Clueless.
I've looked at this video several times now and I've decided it isn't an optical illusion, it's just flat out shifted to the drivers side.
Unbreakable until it meets a slight curve on the highway
Tires are too small and axles aren't wide enough for that body. Doesn't look great but seemed to work pretty good on the trail. Still a nice build.
I agree, especially with how tall that thing is, the track-width is kinda pathetic!
Makes me think of a fat person with really skinny legs for some reason.
Enough room in the rear for some big wheels and tyre to carry .
Just needs correct offset wheels....and the rear suspension fixed....they janked that all to hell.
I second that
I appreciate Rock Auto, I restored my 1965 GMC 1500 truck to driver condition using parts on a small budget from Rock Auto! It also has an original seat like the one you guys installed, I will be doing more in the future! Thanks Guys!

From what I have heard, GM put narrowed rear axles under the Suburbans. The guys should have replaced it with something wider for sure.
Even just putting some nice 14 inch wide tires with a decent wheel offset and a couple inch spacer
Should have called Stacy David for some help... maybe then your rear end wouldn't be shifted... you'd have the right wheels and tires with bead locks.. etc.
Times ELEVENTY GAGILLION
Dude that rear axle is like 12” off center
Man I grew up on these shows. But seriously how many endorsements can you fit into a program. Makes it very hard to warch
It’s supposed to be a secret but since the cat’s out of the bag………..All these programs are just glorified, very long TV commercials anyway.
You’re welcome. 📺
What a disappointment, that rear axle. Can you show what happened to the rear end?
is it just me or did that rear axle shift? I'm guessing the jam nuts came loose on the control arms. Noticed it when they went after the mud. You could see the driver side sticking way out and then when power washing it looks like the passenger is sitting way in.
Absolutely is.
I hope it was loose links...may have over centered from bad geometry...and kinked one.
I like the biggest tires possible and the center of gravity as low as possible. That thing is way too high.
I was just thinking the tires were too skinny. Makes it look goofy.
@@bradleyj.fortner2203 yea it definitely needs a wider stance it looks funny
Opinions differ.
And the axles are too narrow. The tires are tucked up under the body by 4 or 5 inches.
Loving these builds! But that moustache 😂
Nearly had my 4WD Tahoe slide off an embankment in Baja a few years ago. Tow truck hombre came, we had to wrap the cable around a huge saguaro cactus to keep the truck from slipping as he winched it. Good times.

Jesus! That rear axle at the end... it moved a good 12 inches to the driver side
I was reading comments before the video started and was like jeez yall are mean. Then i saw the wheels lol wtf
HAHAHAHAHA somebody sponsor these guys a tape measure!!!!!
Next time try a set of wheels with bead locks on them. And a rear suspension setup with a little bit more lateral stability.
One quick defensive lane change, and that thing is on it's side, happened to me and my little brother
Are we not going to talk about that rear end...like it's not off by a foot.
The comments didn't disappoint when I was going to mention that too... sketch AF
Is it just me or is the rearend more to the left
That truck is a beast, thanks for the video and for Rock Auto supporting your channel.
They broke “Unbreakable” way faster than I thought they would. It’s still a pretty cool build……until they roll it. That’ll break a lot of stuff. 🍋
Lol can only imagine how that meeting went down....I hope the revised version does credit next time.
That Suburban looks goofy with those tall and skinny tires...
Sorry guys, No deal. jacked to high, Wheelbase not wide enough and it looks unstable as hell. I agree with keith looks like the rear axle shifted.
No deal? 😂😂😂 I guess they should've consulted you first! Who f'n cares what THEY do with THEIR truck
Finally been waiting on this series 😬
That would be one of the best jobs in the world man. That would be awesome
4 link needs some extra tuning eh . Some limiting straps would also help when going up steep hills
Looks like the axle is wandering. Side to side
You spent all that time and money on the suspension and drivetrain, then you put them sorry ass wheels and tires on there? Come on man...
@White Rider I know, right?
And a rear axle that’s a foot+ off center to the drivers side. 😂 passenger side shots show how bad the offset is.
I sure wish I could win a drive way rescue. I sure do need one.
Need a roof rack, so you can get a whole set of tires.
Yep. Keep using that door to pull yourself into the truck. That generation of Suburban, heck all Chevy trucks, are known for its stout door hinges that never sag.
And the tilt wheel....never loosening up.
Oh, Misty.. I'm in love.. with your truck. I've never cared much for "patina" on old trucks, but yours is perfect!
I like that ol moustache. the "tickler".
About damn time
Looks like it would roll over easy but still cool
Get Stacy David to redo that wrecked up mess!
That pressure washer is a glorified garden hose!
my piss stream is stronger...
"Wooh, got me a CRAWWWLER! Gonna do me Some CRAWLIN!" Who wants to crawl?
They did all the measurementing to get the front axle in right and just phoned it in on the rear axle because that thing is WAY off center. Looks to be off almost a foot to the driver's side.
not one mention of the rear axle shifting?
The rear link setting was WAY off!!! Looks laughable. I think another day to get the rearend where it was supposed to have been woulda done ALOT for Your credibility...
What an odd, awkward exchange with that weird lady with the truck. 🤔
You didn’t like the fat hiding bedsheet clothing? Oh and the super strange demeanor? 😂
LT would say it needs more offset with the wheels.
the whole back axle is out, it's broken.
That Suburban clearly skimp out on leg day. Also it's got way too much body roll
This thing looks horrible with the suspension like that needs some wider taller wheels and tires and could be lowered about 4 inches
My thoughts exactly apparently even if they give you a whole shit ton of free parts a bunch of people to do the work you still can’t get it right
Yes, they proved you are only as high as your diffs.Body lift is worthless unless you plan on fording bodys of water
The motor in Suburban sounded pretty healthy
In a later episode they addressed how to axle shifted , and they fixed it.
Damn you're liable to knock the axles off that thing on a gravel road
Maybe they’ll rename it semi-unbreakable. 💸
Guys, I am amazed y'all left that gas tank in the cab. Talk about a death trap.
In the cab? I see a brand new on the under side
Never mind yea were talking the blue truck I was like wtf u talking about willis
@@davidfirth9342 Yes, I was talking about the blue truck. Pay attention Willis.
Unbreakable is a little tipsy.. Would not pass a state trooper sobriety check..
I'm a diehard squarebody man but they could have chosen a better trail, my stock k10 could walk that trail with my wife driving.
If your K10 is "walking", you got major problems. :O
Wheel/tires are not wide enough. Doesn't look good (IMO). Slap some 12" wide wheels and spread things out past the fenders some. Just my 2 cents.
Un breakable, maybe. Un tip able, not so much.
That center of gravity is in orbit.
I think they broke “Unbreakable”. Too bad. I thought they’d have way more trouble breaking the first thing on this build. 💥
Needs wider tires rear axle looks goofy love the build I’d just step up the tires to 42.5x13.50
Is that a rear axle out of a samurai? Jesus, did they even take measurements!

Rear suspension looks like it’s pulling the axle to the driver’s side pretty bad lol
I don't think that suburbans suspension was done correctly. Is it just me, or was that whole blue 66 interaction just awkward as heck?
Welcome to power nation…lol
@@melonrain6862 You ain't kidding....crazy!
Reminds me of my 89 :(
I use too watch extreme off-road, when Ian and jessi was the host.. I stop watching after that.
These are not the set of tires that they put at the shop, no?
Looks cool but needs wider axle and tires
Thing is WAY too tall, I’d be shitting bricks getting a lean on 😂
Add 5 point and a roll cage.
Turn this Rig over to Stacy David of Gearz. That's an episode I'd pay to see. If anyone knows how to build a truck it's Stacy David.
Dog tracking Broken tank.. It looks seriously tweeked with a rear axel way to narrow! Everything works well my ass lol!
Where’s your goddamn seatbelts going 69 mph in that thing 😵😵😵
Way too high, way too big way to soft !!
I think so 2....Top heavy and those wheels are to far in and thin...It looks wrong ( shit ).....
...and too narrow track width.
Rear axle not centered and tires and wheels are to narrow
no roll bar?
and need a spotter to be safe...
Of all the sponsors they needed to be hit up by Stanely tape measures. That rear axle is STUFFED. Stacy David would have done this rig justice. Get these clowns outta here.
tires look like pizza cutters on that thing def need a wider foot print
Guess they forgot to install seat belts. lol
Nice truck. Those tires are too small for that truck and should’ve put something wider
the good content starts at roughly 11:06
I guess Marc wrastled Brandon for the driver seat and won
Need more stance
Too long a wheelbase, too tall, too narrow track...lots of expensive suspension hardware maybe twelve inches of ground clearance? C of G is way too high for anything serious.
66 patina looks like a zebra
Wtf is wrong with the rear axle? 😂
I sure do wish you guys would bring ""driveway rescue"" to Colorado to get my 1977 dodge m882 (w200) working alot better
The rear axle is not centered in the body those wheels are too far under the frame that's why it's so unsteady you may feel like the Springs are too soft but those tires need to be farther apart spaced out those rear tires are tucked too far in but only on one side
Sittin way too high, and axles need to be wider, waaaay too top heavy to be practical in a trail
People lift these rigs to the sky, it just makes no sense to me. A low center of gravity is your friend on the trail.
dude you need some off road driving lessons

@@bobbywalter5320 right. i don't know where they find these guys.
Needs wider axles and wider tires. Plus that rear axle is totally off center

It's not the axles....it's the wheel offset.
that rear axle looks like it has rear steering....
Man y’all tucked them tires up under that truck!!! Ug-guh-lee…sorry.
Nice mechanicals, but y’all gotta step up your aesthetics game
I would have used nitto mud grapplers for the tires and some different rims but I love the build
0:20
This^^^
that thing is screaming for 40s...
This thing looks super wonky. Tires are too small and the stance is too narrow 😬
Tire's are definitely to small needs to be wider and it would look better
i would put BEAD LOCKERS ON so that won't happen again
Rainy day here in Alabama so RUclips it is. Just watched this episode and Wow. Can't believe they aired this. That thing has so many problems.
