    As an AI researcher this is one of the best presentations on AI. I have yet to see anyone present a graph on the 'Skills Graph Principle'. I've subscribed and looking forward to seeing more of these videos.

    I'm so grateful that you made a point to record this presentation to be viewed later. I was stuck at a booth at NAB 2024 and unable to get free to watch this talk live. Thank you for continuing to share your perspectives and experiences of AI in the entertainment industry.

      Thanks! Hope this helps. Just this week (after I presented this) I found several new articles about financial challenges of GenAI. It’s not going away, but it’s also nowhere near a standard. Did you see the AI romantic comedy movie trailer? Ooof.

    first, thanks for the launch party on Saturday!
    second, i love the comparison to maps routing; a use of AI/ML that is ultra familiar to everyone yet never referenced in conversations surrounding this current boom.

      You're welcome! Glad you made it! The "Skills Gap Principle" is our way of helping explain WHY and WHERE the ideal spaces for AI exist. I was worried that people would not realize that each individual vocation would have an alternate arrangement of what goes into each box. I hope people realize that it varies on the proficiency of the individual. I might need to work on the talk track for that part. But NAB only gave me 30 minutes and I wanted to cover a lot so I had to rush.

    You know what would be interesting is many times when I send out a reel the client is looking for something specific. Like Cars for a car commercial or Pets for a Pet food commercial. Usually I have to go back through my jobs and try to find shots or jobs to send. It would be great to have your entire catalog available to you and be able to create a reel based on the needs of that job.

      Well, I think it's safe to say that's 100% what we're building here! A way for you to have "Google Search" on YOUR OWN media! That can work during active projects or archived projects. "Hunting-and-pecking" is one of my least favorite parts about editing. Running your media thru Strada should get you a hydrated XML/ALE so you can search either in Strada's UI or your NLE.

      @@Michael_Cioni So I could point Strada and Resolve to my library and they would communicate to organize footage? If I wanted to edit a new car reel, I could type in cars as a search term and populate my timeline in resolve with all the car shots from my media folders? That would be fantastic. Then I need to find a good way to upres them all to the same resolution.

    Great presentation! I love the approach of AI as a utility. As an editor, Topaz has become an invaluable arrow in my quiver. I can envision Strada becoming even more ubiquitous.

      Fantastic insight! Can you share a little bit about how Topaz has become so valuable in your daily workflow? How are you using it most routinely?

    • @Wolficorntv
      @Wolficorntv Месяц назад +1

      Topaz obviously has a relatively niche function so it’s not a part of my daily workflow, but it’s been integral for multiple projects that needed upscaling for one reason or another. It made previously unusable shots usable.
      PS…I freelanced a few days at Plaster City waaay back in the day. It’s been great following your innovations in this space. 🙌

    AI isnt like robots taking us over soon, its just an advanced search engine... and its limited by its creators... so do we benefit from this ? just a little.
