I bought mine when they first came out . Still use it on recordings . I didn't know about the two different necks Thanks for the info . I have the satin finish and love that aspect
Super nice brother! Hows that oiled neck feel on the 83? How does it compare to your kamikaze? Those are both maple body guitars with rosewood boards. Great content! Really want to pick up a 83
i know the real 83 grails had r5 nut so i guess kramer did that on the current reissues to maintain spec, imo wide and not really what most folks want. i tried to make 83 grail through musikraft but they do some weird things imo, cheap, shiny rear cover and the screws are not recessed? wtf? also weird not needed route for the thumb wheel truss rod adjustment.
Love those 86s. For some reason, they are much cooler to me than the ones that came after. The older block logo looks more "serious" than the descending logo. One question: what do you find easier to play, the 86 or the grail?
I have the pyramid logo as well on my Baretta II’s. I agree with you.. the block logo is cool. The 86 is easier to play for sure… probably the string spacing on the nut. Thanks for your comment!
@@40gritguitars i have tried a wild bunch of different duncan, dimarzio and lundgren pickups, Gotoh and OFR with standard or big brass blocks, and another neck on it made by musikraft with ebony fretboard, i think its maybe a lemon dull body 🤔
Great stuff…always a pleasure my man…I have an old ‘83 pacer (who knows they are hard to date)…it’s over 40yrs old and it is a beast of a guitar….rock on brother🤘
I was just talking about a pacer that I used as a template and left it at my buddy’s shop…. Wish I had it back! Thank you so much for your comment, I’m happy that you have your pacer!!
@@40gritguitars …thanks…it’s an old one with the “beak” headstock…esp made neck, schaller tuners and pickups, original Floyd…bought it new way back when for 600 bucks👍
My friend Chad still has this guitar and Charvelle’s version both in Red! I loved playing them both even though my love is an Ibanez RG 550/570!#🎸🔥🤘🏻
The RG’s are great playing guitars. I had a red Baretta and I regret getting rid of it.

That’s awesome! They play great, love all my Kramers. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I really like the 83 reissue! Great feel and similar to the Kami. I would recommend the grail reissue. Thanks for watching!

R5 is not the most comfortable imo. Thanks for watching!
Great Axe!
Well you built em!!
lucky me, i got two of these. paid 4 and 7 hundred. pre eddie passing these were cheap.
I agree! Thanks for watching.
actually 4 piece neck if you wanna get geeky, fourth piece is for the pointy part of the head stock
I did not notice that!
Great stuff! What amp are you using? Sounds great
I am currently using the EVH 80w iconic head thru 2 EVH 212 cabs. Thanks for your comment!

@@40gritguitars Cool, good to know 👍
Is that what Gary Hoey played back in the day?
I’m not sure but if someone knows please comment! Thanks for watching!
Yep, sounds like a distorted guitar.
Thanks for your comment!
Very much enjoyed the walk around 👍
Thanks Ronnie! Thank you for being in the chat yesterday.
i have an 86 maple fretboard baretta, cool guitar but the darkest sounding electric guitar i have ever played =(
Interesting! Is the pickup original?

Interesting!
Great run-thru on the pair of Baretta’s 40 Grit 💯
Thanks Mikey!!
Great vid 40! I think if I remember correctly Mick Mars played one of these on the “Theater of Pain” tour in the 80’s!🎭
I believe that you may be right! Thanks for watching!
Everybody was playing Kramers back in the 80’s.
That’s for sure!
As always, another great video! Looking forward to a video with snakeskin guitars 🤘🤝😎
I did one! Please see my other videos! I did the Charvel and the Performance….
