First of all, I love your videos and all of your SoCal adventures. There are so many people who hate on CA so much, especially in Arkansas where I'm from, and it really irritates me. You're out there living the SoCal life and keeping it positive, that's awesome! I take a road trip to the San Diego area every summer. SoCal is my paradise! I know this winter has been a bad one for you all but I'm in hopes that this is going to be an incredible spring and summer. Can't wait to get back out there in a few months. Anyway, keep the positive vibes going and keep on California dreamin! This should be a beautiful summer for SoCal. Cheers, from Arkansas!

I feel you. I live high in the rockies in Colorado and we've been getting the same atmospheric river after CA. It's been gray and awful and our valley is really suffering. I can't wait to be in CA next month! Really love your videos. We are moving to SoCal this year. Crested Butte, CO is more expensive than LA right now and salaries/wages are not keeping up. Also, Pothole Season is a thing.

Thanks for ending on a positive note. I work with a lot of transplants from out of state and it seems like all they do it bitch about what's wrong with LA and how much they hate it and the people. Yet, they never leave or move back to where they came from.

Always a great video, Michael! :) I believe LA is in a period of rejuvenation. All this water we got in the past 2 1/2 months is so beneficial to our ecosystem. I actually spotted parrots in the neighborhood for the first time just yesterday. LA is definitely healing. I can’t wait to see the super blooms in our local mountains next month. :)

Sorry for all the issues with your car. Unfortunately the issues with the unhoused and the economy effect most cities now. May you continue to look on the brighter side of life. It was nice seeing more green and watching the pretty water falls.🍎💚

    1. Awesome video native New Yorker!!!
    2. I agree about the rise in cost of living and
    3. Bad drivers! I’ve been rear ended three times in less than one year and each time it was because they were (a) on their phone and not paying attention (2) checking for on coming traffic BEFORE they get to the intersection!!
    3. And yezzzz, those who speak badly of LA are “typically” not from LA.
    4. And yes, people are clout chasing, big name company’s and what part of town you live in, & are looking for a come-up or to see how they can benefit from knowing you (lack of being genuine).

I do enjoy your videos, Michael! You know, this weather situation hasn't happened here in a long time and it is long overdue too. It won't last forever so in the meantime we look forward to a beautiful Spring and Summer time. before you moved here, we have seen and endured hot triple digit temperature weather then warm weather, prior to those years we have hot weather, warm weather and cold rainy weather and if there was snow it only appeared on our mountain ranges, the Grapevine, and our Sierra Nevada area like in Yosemite. I love it here in LA County because I grew up here and I can't imagine living anywhere else. We do love to travel but we are always looking forward to coming back home here in SoCal. That is too bad about the public transportation now, I had no idea that business people stopped taking public transportation. I used to travel by bus and train to work, I don't anymore as I now work further away from home and those bus lines, I used to use so much, so I drive to work now. There are a lot of people out there with a license to drive and it's just insane that they torment drivers like me on the road. I purposefully drive behind a slow truck so that they can't tailgate me on the freeway. The potholes are a nuisance, that's all I have to say on that one. I'm looking forward to bonfires at the beach this year! Woo hoo! Keep up the good work Michael! Take care and enjoy your life here in SoCal! Cheers! ☮💕

I'm a native of LA, so maybe that's why I'm enjoying the winter weather. However, I know that SoCal's culture & economy would take a hit if LA's climate became more like that of Seattle's, much less Chicago's or NYC's. Still, I like rain & cooler temps. RUclips's German in Venice just dropped a vid showing his hometown of Krefeld, Germany. Although its crime, homelessness & drooping economy aren't as extreme as LA's is, Krefeld in 2023 also comes off as in a world of hurt. As for the Ace Hotel, I believe that was a largely abandoned bldg a few yrs ago & was built in the 1920s by Mary Pickford & other actors.

Winters are always hard. It's fascinating how much bad weather can drag one down. Also, I think everyone had high hopes for the post covid world and maybe we were delusional about it - the world wasn't a perfect happy place before it, it's not after it (at least that's what I realized with my own pictures of the future in mind). I don't think we should blame it on one particular place (L.A.). It will be an amazing spring and summer 🌞

Good video. I was just wondering, how are you getting away with all the LA shots because I heard that Film LA people are very strict when it comes to film permits, especially if it's a historic landmark within LA or even if it's inside a "private home"?. Have you ran across any issues with them?

Hoping to visit for the first time in Sept. Going on a budget. But I'm not into the Blvd scene. I already know. I've been to Vegas, Miami. Raised in New York... I don't dig the beach Ripley's believe it or not scene. But I know I'd enjoy the caves, hikes, gardens, flea market.... I'm more of a laid back Pittsburg girl these days.... Any suggestions for Must See local secrets? That don't get a heavy tourist draw? Looking for a typical normie day, an authentic LAlien vibe to take me away.

Unfortunately since moving to LA from Connecticut, I've noticed a lot of the same issues here as NY and CT. The reason for the crime and reckless driving is unfortunately political. When the police can't enforce the law due to the justice system, this is what happens. LA is such a beautiful awesome city, but it is being destroyed from within.

I've lived in L.A. my entire life. The cost of living here keeps going up as the quality of life goes down. It's no wonder so many people are fleeing L.A. county - and the state. It's no longer a good value here. Two years ago, an L.A. City Councilman kicked the homeless out of Echo Park Lake and fenced it off so it would be a safe place for people to visit and enjoy. Yesterday, a recently elected socialist councilman had the fence removed and, by doing so, effectively surrendered the area back to the vagrants that will move back in and make it a dirty, dangerous place like it was before. The city has taken a GIANT step backwards. Sad to see what this city has become. However, on a positive note, my city councilman got rid of the many homeless encampments down the street from where I live and fenced that entire area off. So, at least for now, all is ok in my neighborhood. (By the way, the TV series "La Brea" on NBC is a show about Los Angeles but they film it in Australia. Maybe they do that to save money, but the cast and crew is probably safer there anyway.)
