I’m a A&P for an airline and a pilot. You definitely do not want sheep skin covers permanently attached to a chair, they wear out. I change them frequently on the two driver seats up front on all the planes I work on at United and their attachments are Velcro strips sewn into the fabric not permanent, which is the only way it should be built. They are very difficult to clean, only a machine wash will work.
You just saved me a lot of money. I have no experience with sheepskin. I love the concept but these are legitimate cons and for $900 I think I'll wait for them to make a cover variant that I can put on my Blackhawk and swap when it wears out.
In what way do they wear out, does the fur detach and fall out, does it just get dirty? I was thinking of going for this but maybe one of the other versions and get a sheepskin cover that can be removed would be best.
I would love to have the wool seat cover, since I already own the chair. It would provide that little extra cushion I seem to need. It is an amazing chair and well worth the purchase price.
After using sheepskin on my motorcycle seat when doing long miles, this is a great idea. Would definitely buy this version of the chair for MTS if it's available in black.
I love the idea! Wool is an incredible material-I only use wool carpets; anything else just doesn't measure up. That being said, at 12:21, it was mentioned, "You buy one, you buy for life." What is the warranty on this seat? How many years does it cover? My Steelcase comes with a 12-year warranty.
Wow these are super cool. This really makes my office chair and milk crate set up look a little amateurish. That cover is awesome. Expert pilot opinion is remarkable, what a great video. Thank you for your service.
I had some good quality wool seat covers in my previous car, which were so nice. I haven't put them in my new car, because the leather is so nice, too; I can't decide between the two. If I could use them on my gaming chair, I certainly would!
Heads up: Lead times and shipping costs on Monstertech in the USA is currently quite high. Most everything is made in Germany, then shipped via boat to Tampa. Getting one of these already pricey chairs ($700-$900 WITHOUT any mounting systems) is an additional $250! I ordered some desk mounts in late March and it's looking like I won't get them in hand until late May. Just be mentally and financially prepared if you do pull the trigger.
I’ll probably get one of these chairs eventually, but the one thing that concerns me is the cutout just seems too small for using a stick on extension like the 200mm Virpil one, even with the reduced 16 degree deflection of the CM3 I have it doesn’t look big enough to be able to get the stick low enough to be able to rest my arm on my leg and allow stability to make finer movements like many pilots do.
Looks like I may have forgotten to reply back to you. Good to know about the black version, but as for the gimbal position, having it in the cutout is exactly the position I’m trying to avoid, it’s just too high and I want to use the 200mm extension on the CM3 but it needs to be low enough that I can rest my arm on my leg for precision stability when finer movements are necessary, especially handy in helicopters and a nicer resting position and the lower the base the wider the deflection and so wider the cutout needs to be. Any insight on roughly when the black version will be released? Cheers.
Funny to see this today. Was going through my gear getting ready to turn it in next month and I found the old sheep skin seat cover I use to when I was a gunner 😆 Two trips to the suck and christ knows how many EXs. Stoped using it aroud 2011 when I became a CC ( spent 90% of my time standing 😅 ) tossed it i my old baraks box and forgot about it. I was going to toss it out but now I have a use for it until I can save up my empties to get the new Monster Teck.
Haha, same here. I was watching this video, and thought, "Now why haven't I thrown that big sheepskin I've had in a box for 30 years on my gaming chair?" 🤣 So I did.
My flying sheep gets here next week super pumped and can't wait to pair it with all my new virpil stuff can't wait to get the collective mounted to it!
The thing is they have different uses, I eat at my desk a lot and get food on my chair, but for the price I think I would just use This chair when I’m playing at my other computer
weird i bought my first sheep wool, since i had one as a child 25 years ago. it hasn't arrived yet so i cannot share in the joy of something precious that should last a tenth (at least) of a human life if cared for.
Definatly a shadow… Its a shared chair so not a chance in hell its gonna be sat in nude You can also very clearly see its a shadow from the arm rest anyway 0:24
Anyone know a 3rd party wool cover that fits the mtsim chair? I have the fc-5 and now want a wool cover :) I asked mtsim if they sell them individually as an accessory and they do not (yet).
Woah love the review. I am seriously consifering this chair now, since I was already considering the MFC-2. My main concern is durability, but it seems like this should be very tough. I do feel kinda bad using the sheep skin though... 🐑
really sounds and looks like Triggerfish piece. ;-P in all honesty wool has great qualities for premium sportswear as well so maybe the chair is better than it looks. Very funny picture of the hairless cat on the hairy chair.
@@NOOBIFIER1337 Thanks for this information. What's your view on black or white for longevity? Have you tired the black, is it the same chair just black?
@@NOOBIFIER1337 Which do you find you use more, white or black? I'm thinking back over time would show less marks and stains but white is more realistic.
I might need to unsubscribe from your videos because I seem to add a new thing to my shopping list every time I view one 😅 If this came in black, as a simrig seat, I would probably order it today :P As it stands I might actually look into a sheep-skin cover for my current seat, an almost-new BMW M-Sport seat I got for a bargain price. The MonsterTech simrig seats are missing an adjustable seat pad angle, making it much to flat for any driving sim usage.
Dunno why but the tone "it's not sweaty" makes me suspicious it's sweaty. We know Noob lives in chilly Canada, and he doesn't have the best reputation for critiquing hardware per it's price. That said, has anyone seen another review on this product?
@@NOOBIFIER1337 You're coming across as condescending but I rarely encounter someone more direct than I am. Maybe it's a military thing. For reference, my grandpa was a WW2 bomber, and he had a long career at Boeing as an engineer. He got me bomber jacket as a kid, I have a lambskin bomber jacket now, and lambskin hides from ikea I put on the backs of wood chairs. The jacket is usually too warm for me in Seattle winters. I can't say how it wears because I only wear it few times a year. Do you ever eat in the chair? Cats claw the chair? How has cleaning it been? How has the wear and tear been as the months go by (I know it was 2 months in the video)? If it looks frumpy, maybe it still feels good or can be combed/picked/fluffed? Maybe the seat is worse off than the backing? For reference, I sit at my leather Steelcase chair almost every day for 13 years now and it's still in great shape (I don't expect that from other chairs). How long are your average gaming/office sessions and what is the temperature in the space you're using? Your wife took your other chair, so that's a great reference for the underlying chair design. What has she said about the lambskin chair?

You can get sheepskin car seat covers and fit to most desk chairs.
I'd love to see MT release a wool cover that form-fits for those of us with current MFC chairs. It should a great seller and I'd definitely buy one! 👍
I'd definitely buy a cover for my current MFC-5

MT should sell sheep's hide add-ons for current MFC Owners with correct fittings. Much appreciated.

Now all you need to do is add 6 Dayton Audio transducers inside that think and you'd have an ideal setup.
Think I will buy some sheepskin seat covers/bulk material and cut to size and use adjustable straps in key areas. Thanks for the ideas!

Okay, it's growing on me, would love to see a cover made to go over my black cordura.

This needs an expert Lamb to test it out.

@NOOBIFIER1337 Do you know what size pneumatic piston it uses?
@@nicholaschattaway8364 they sell replacement on the website. It’s nitrogen over oil.. there is no air in the cylinder.

neither will stain. They are the same except you choose whichever color you like better
Its possible to order only the seat and the backrest, i have the mfc 5.
I imagine they would sell just the two parts.
