Taylor here from Denver area - Janey, it is an honor that you featured my garden. Thanks so much for your kind words 😊 Wishing you a speedy recovery!!! The bright orange-red shrub is a Tiger Eye Sumac which behave themselves pretty well in our heavy clay. My neighbor down the street has some, so I’ve been observing . . . The red Adirondack chairs are Polywood and have weathered perfectly in our sun and snow. Blue spruces are Hoopsi. I’ve tried to size everything appropriately for the space but am prepared to do some pruning/shearing in the future if necessary . . .

OMG👏🏻👏🏻 I loved this. This is your rainbow. They say you must have rain ( surgery) to have a rainbow. Otherwise you would have been outside working and filming in your garden at this time. I am so moved by these zone 5 videos. You not only gave garden examples but touched on problems that make each region different within the same zone.
    👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Janey, one tip i would give is take pictures. My neighbor came over when everything was pretty and said, "Have you taken pictures. I said not yet, and she said you need to. Did I ........NO I NEVER DID.
    I REGRET THAT. TAKE PICTURES!

So love this series. As a zone 4, though, I can feel the garden envy creeping in. 🙂 They were all beautiful, but I especially love, love, love Taylor's garden in Denver. Wow, incredible and striking are the words! How considerate and generous of you, Janey, to encourage and promote other garden channels. The hard-working creators and we viewers all benefit. You are a treasure.

Absolutely loving your zone videos! Seeing the sumac in Taylor's garden was inspiring because we see them everywhere along our highways here in Muskoka, Ontario, and I've always considered them as a "weed tree" because they're so prolific, and yet there it was, looking amazing in Taylor's garden....and totally inspiring! Your series is opening our eyes to many possible plants, combinations, spacing, and design. Amazing how your injury has turned into this great undertaking!

Hi Janey, you made a comment about squirrels possibly getting your bulbs, so I think if you take a two or three foot tall roll of chicken wire, larger circles, cut sections of two foot lengths off and lay it over your pre sprouted bulbs securing it with landscape staples should do a good job of protecting them from being dug up.😊
