Me and my partner watched this ages ago and it was the biggest representation for drugs ever. The peer pressure of drugs and how easily it is to be addicted to them.
i think it was very representative of teenagers getting involved with drugs with no knowledge of what it could lead to, wanting it more bc of the feeling and peer assurance until it turns into an addiction and starts to affect the people closest to you
the film/drowned ghost lady gives a clue every time she is appearing on the screen. that is of course the water dripping/moving sounds effects. but jade was too far gone she didn't realize it was the drowned ghost lady imitating her mom. you can hear the watery sounds effects when her talks to drowned lady in her own house. also as the time passes drowned lady's mask falls off revealing her true face through jade mom's skin. that's why at the end jade mom's looked more disgusting. the old man first appeared before jade was the one went after riley's soul. the old man and drowned lady both worked together to get jade and riley but jade was the only one fell in to the trap because she was mentally already down because of her mother's passing.
It wasn’t her mom. It’s was the original lady (the drowned lady) that began to change to her mom which is why mom became more “wet” looking throughout the movie. (I’m at a stop light so I hope this makes sense)
Yeah and every time you would see her mom on the screen there was sounds of water. Also I don’t think her mom was a demon because apparently the only demons that are present are ones that the hand has captured by them dying while possessed. Also think it’s more of a metaphor for drug use than schizophrenia
@@lynthia I always thought she was pushed cause her friend saw the dad stabbed, knowing she could push him. It just never made sense how the angle is she would push them both so I'm 50 50 your idea also, maybe Mia noticed the spirits had a hold on her when it said they would protect him forever,
It absolutely annoyed me how Mia gets blamed for everything when she did not introduce the thing in the first place. And everyone was like yeah fine when Riley wanted to do it. Absolutely ridiculous
There's added layers to it - she's got a cold, so her judgment is slightly impaired (I think this is part of why we get the mention with her & her friend's mom), she's disconnected from the friend group, so the pressure to belong is that much greater, and it's the anniversary of her mom's death, so she's not in a great place emotionally. The hand, for her, is a vehicle for being included, and she sees Riley in a similar boat to her, before, it makes sense why she'd want him to use the hand.
I don’t remember which hand was which but while that is a possibility, I think the idea of so much time having passed since she died even though it seemed like she just passed, that the hand made it to another country is a much better ending than it being the other hand. It being the other hand kinda takes away from concept of our perception of time meaning nothing in the afterlife. And they proved in the video it’s the same hand at the end, you gotta finish it.
Mia is definitely no hero i look at this movie as just a another story of this hand and one of it's victims Mia is a bad friend she is so flawed and all he poor decisions also come down to the loss of her mother i think this movie was really tragic and sad and gory and it's just great can't wait for the next film form the RackaRacka boys

My Australian school had them as class pets in the 80s. They're kinda cool and kinda weird as... I still remember having to take care of our class axolotl.
I absolutely love it! Just an idea, one of my favorite series is Ripley, it's on netflix, the main character is played by Andrew Scott, better for you, Jim Moriarty from Sherlock :D
I kept for some reasib thinking that some member of her actual aboriginal community to intervene. The film felt odd to me as this girl was out of place culturally with those she surrounded herself with. I sorta felt like there was another story there as to why she seemed to be estranged from her biological family and wider community.
Some countries banned Talk To Me, not for its actual content, but because Hayley’s _actor_ Zoe Terakes is non-binary, which is an insane reason to ban something.
I thought the dad died too but the elevator represented him moving on to heaven or the afterlife. I do think Mia was pushed by her friend too. But I don't think her friend was trying to kill her per se. She was just trying to save her brother and that was the first thing that came to her mind
@_adrian_sean same I read the elevator going up as her father died and moving up to heaven. No, I definitely thought she was pushed because the sister instinctively was trying to save her brother just like her putting her hand out when he was bashing his face in. I thought "she finally choosing her brother" over her friends when I was reflecting on it the first time I watched it last year.
Just so you’re aware, the actor and character in the baggy shirt that you referred to with male pronouns is nonbinary. I know you weren’t trying to disrespect anyone, I’m sure you just didn’t know. Also they were ere using their phones as a timer, the only ones who went overtime were Riley and Mia
just a tad insulted. im english. dont say the british are some who have the worst engish accent love. im hoping you are just confused about the amount of britsh accents there are. we did invent the english language after all. aside from that great reaction to an excellent film.
Not wishing to be unduly negative, but just FYI, "we were shook" is grammatically incorrect. "We were shaken" or "this shook us" are better. **Edit - this was meant to be in jest. Use our fabulously flexible language however you wish! **

Nobody nobody ever catches the fact that the hand at the end is the opposite hand then the one they were playing with

@ambrissholyfield3065 different side hands dummy... rewatch
I learned from watching a variety of asian horror, that some spirits arent nice. In fact they can manipulate you... that spirit was never the mom
this movie really deals with grieve well , I felt bad for mia 😭

Pretty sure the accent's New Zealand BUT they filmed in Australia
Welcome back summer so happy to see you I miss you It’s been a while since I saw you react to a k- drama
I like her😊
Only Riley and Mia went over 90s that’s why they were affected.
Can’t wait for the second one
Good reaction big homie and i think the possessions give them a type of high lol but hell to the nawwww nawwww I would not be doing it

That’s insane to me
That is hilariously minute considering this is a movie that uses possession to represent drug abuse LOL
Y’all, should react to The Green Mile
lol y’all missing the adolescent drug addiction/abuse theme is sending me😂😂😂. Yeah this movie was wild.
😮 am I the only one that didn't get the drug comparisons when I saw this? I can see how in hindsight.
Michael philippou and Danny Philippou are twin brothers, they are known on you Tube as RackaRacka
I feel like the father died, that is why he is taking an elevator. I think if you rewatch it in slow motion, Mia was probably pushed.
